She was a good driver apart from not noticing the lane on that roundabout. I failed because I got confused on lanes too, best of luck to her. Love how you waited 4 minutes at the train crossing where I waited like 20 minutes a few times.
I passed my test first time yesterday and I can honestly say your videos have been such a big help to me and filled in gaps that my instructor didn't always go over although she was great.I began learning a week before lockdown so never drove consistently which caused me to lose confidence The show me tell me questions video helped me immensely and had it on repeat a week before my test to get everything in head.Thankyou so much!
She’s really good 👍 she has good planning and awareness and she deals with meeting points well. Any tips on how to deal with meeting points well and staying focused looking at the road a head as far as you can it’s what I struggle with :(
she said u had a calm voice lol I agree it’s so calming and it doesn’t make u nervous. I’ve had a male assessor and he just made me nervous the entire time
16:23 for those wondering Should have been in neutral with clutch up and either brake down or handbrake on Or you could stay in first with clutch and brake down if your practiced and able to use clutch and brake with the same foot and increase throttle but only do this if you know your moving soon otherwise you will screw up your ankle
When you are on urban dual-carriageways 30/40 mph with bus stops not having laybys everybody is flowing about the same speed in both lanes. There will be only five miles per hour difference in the two lanes. So you can move out early on if you spy a stopped bus and establish yourself in lane two. Only a smallish gap and signal will be required. If you slow down, the difference in your speed and lane two lane flow speed will be much greater and a bigger gap will be need to get into lane two. If you end up stopped behind the bus the speed difference might be 30/40 mph and if you are tight behind the bus an angled move off will mean an even bigger gap is needed. Even experienced drivers end up waiting until the bus moves off because they haven't got this sorted out.
Watching videos, such as this, where learner drivers drive really well save for one or two errors reminds me how much worse people drive once they've passed. I swear 95%+ of drivers would not pass a test if made to retake it. Cannot tell you the number of times I am cut up on roundabouts in a day - often intentionally and without signalling.
Its actually understandable as the TEST is Extremely unrealistic to everyday driving and ONLY focus is on safety. Also, The roads are forever changing, getting busier, locals know the roads versus new to the area people. The different capablities of one driver to the next (one could be great at judging distance and speed closure...the other better at posistioning) The amount of variables on the roads makes everyday driving far too unpredictable. You would need EVERY single driver to be identical for the roads to function properly. NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

It took me some time after to calm down!
I had my test in Erith. Had 0 minor. On my way back, there was a 20 sign in 30 road which was blown away by the wind. I drove 25 but slowed down, she told me this is 20 road. The lady failed me for this. I hope I pass next time. Gutted :(

@@pradeeshgilly hey when turning at slow speeds into a narrow road. Start with the brake but if the car is struggling or it’s too slow then you should use the clutch and change gear. my driving instructor also taught me to hold at the biting point when waiting which I found odd as my previous one did not. Should I ask why he prefers this method as Im quite unsure since I know its not good for the clutch
Some instructors teach it that way, it depends on the car but it’s a bad habit overall Just bring the clutch to the bite when you wish to move forward Otherwise it’s not necessary my car autorevs so that’s why it was burning up and you could smell the clutch burn 🔥 💀
My instructor also asks me to find the biting point and get it ready when on a hill. Now I find it better pressing the parking break button and then just giving it gas with biting point when ready to move off. I was stressing and scared of rolling back when holding the break and switching over to gas
it's beyond not good for the clutch, it's terrible. You don't get that many chances at burning the clutch before it'll start slipping, especially in more powerful/torque-y cars.
@@ClearviewDriving What is the point pressing clutch down while waiting for a green light? The bearing is wearing down as well. What about neutral and pressing only brake instead?
Hi Aman i love watching your videos and always agree with your instructions. The only thing I question in this video is when shanie stops at the traffic lights , and she asks you should I use the handbrake at a red light you said no ? I've been taught to always use my handbrake at a red light . If you could let me know if I'm being taught right or wrong I would really appreciate it. Keep up the great content. Got my test next week .
Yep, that would be me. I'd be like that bus driver in The Truman Show just shredding the transmission. Can't drive a stick. My feet can't count 3 pedals.
Your videos are actually so helpful 😭, but for clutch control, when do I use a little accelerator cus my instructor says to only use accelerator once I'm completely off the clutch, but some cars need a little rev??
That is up to the car how it behaves. Usually disel cars do not require gas to start with clutch control, although petrol ones are easy to stall if no gas is given.
Most new cars will autorev so it’s easier to move without but always try to use 1.5 revs when trying to move off Petrol cars are more likely to stall without the accelerator. Hope that helps :) Thanks for watching
You have to do very slow starts without revs, and while plenty cars with decent torque won't stall if you come off the clutch a little too fast, it'll chew the clutch a tiny bit since really that's what's allowing the engine not to stall. Until recently I'd driven the same car for extended periods of time since passing, so I adjusted my manual driving habits to each car. However, the past year or so I've been driving a few different cars and some irregularly - I've found the easiest way to drive any manual car both reasonably quickly and smoothly is just to rev to where the engine begins to deliver some decent torque and then pause on the bite point until the clutch is no longer needing to slip. While the clutch is slipping just use the throttle to keep the RPM at the point you started, i.e. roll into it a little.
I got my car stuck in deep mud. I asked someone to hop in my car as I push as I'm bigger then them and I can push better. Then this guy just stats to burn my clutch so I kick him out of my car and tell him to push. He can not then called some others to help. I did get out in the end.

Did anyone else see the man walking with a Christmas tree on his shoulder?
15:11 Is it possible to get a second opinion on that? I know someone who failed their driving test for doing that although the road was not as wide. You would clearly cause an obstruction and you would cause people to brake because they would assume you have not seen them.
In this case it wasn’t a big issue as no one was affected behind us with her waiting She could have taken potential gaps but she didn’t affect anyone and was waiting for both sides to be clear By the time someone did turn up behind her, she went soon after so it wasn’t a major issue
@@ClearviewDriving The someone I mentioned failed their test because they wanted to turn right, pulled out half way then waited for the gap. For the driving test, I think you have to wait for both sides to be clear before pulling out.
@@edif8925 you should only go halfway if one side is completely clear and you see a gap approaching on the left. Once you’re halfway out, the traffic from the left usually gives way(flashes their lights and slows down)
Interesting how driving 35mph in a 30 zone is not a serious fault, as that would be an instant fail here in Australia. I guess every country has its own nuanced marking guides for the driving test 🤔
Hey it was very brief as soon as he went up to that speed, he realised and slowed it back down As the road was absolutely clear It wasn’t serious Sherwyn never driven my car before this and so he wasn’t used to the accelerator and thought the car was faster than his instructors 😅
@@ClearviewDriving totally understandable and i agree that it shouldnt be a serious fault too. However, unfortunately here in Australia, if u go over the speed limit at any stage during your test - its an automatic fail 🥲
I live in Ontario Canada and we are allowed to go over a little if the zone is 50mph were allowed to go 55 or less. We also have to do the hand over hand manoeuvre with the wheel when doing a turn

Signal left for going left and right for going right
A left signals to come off is not necessary
If you think it will be helpful you can signal but most cases it won’t be necessary

I think it’s only a fault when you drive all four wheels over the mini roundabout. But she only drove two wheels over it :)
Where did you get that lush green silk face mask? Would love to know 😍
15:11 Is it possible to get a second opinion on that? I know someone who failed their driving test for doing that although the road was not as wide. You would clearly cause an obstruction and you would cause people to brake because they would assume you have not seen them.
In this case it wasn’t a big issue as no one was affected behind us with her waiting
She could have taken potential gaps but she didn’t affect anyone and was waiting for both sides to be clear
By the time someone did turn up behind her, she went soon after so it wasn’t a major issue
Hey it was very brief as soon as he went up to that speed, he realised and slowed it back down
As the road was absolutely clear
It wasn’t serious
Sherwyn never driven my car before this and so he wasn’t used to the accelerator and thought the car was faster than his instructors 😅
@@ClearviewDriving totally understandable and i agree that it shouldnt be a serious fault too. However, unfortunately here in Australia, if u go over the speed limit at any stage during your test - its an automatic fail 🥲
@@vintagecottonon didn't know kangaroos could go faster than 30mph
I live in Ontario Canada and we are allowed to go over a little if the zone is 50mph were allowed to go 55 or less. We also have to do the hand over hand manoeuvre with the wheel when doing a turn
@@ClearviewDriving see this is what confuses me you say she only over sped briefly so why not apply that to the bus lane? She was in it briefly while moving over.
What was that part where she had to wait for 4 minutes?
hey it was a level crossing. so its always a good idea to secure the car and switch off the engine as you will be there for a while
Left foot position when not engaging clutch was making me sweat a bit to be fair
😅new drivers sometimes get into this habit
How kaby clutched have you been throgh? 😅
GOT ALL THE WAY TO THE TEST CENTER AND THE INSTRUCTORS CAR HAD A MISSING BOLT CAP
SO DEVASTATED
Oh no! But that’s something your instructor should be able to sort out and hopefully get you another test
Sorry to hear that 😩
Oi oi Richmond
we teach differently in Ireland! better! also, we drive differently in Ireland! worse!
Are you secretly Jade from mortal combat?
she isn't setting the gas before moving off, why are instructors still teaching this way? this won't work in a car that has a small displacement petrol engine.
Hi Aman, what’s your email address? I have my test booked for next month so would love to do a mock with you before hand.
Hey its, clearviewdriving1@gmail.com
I will try and get back to you, getting a lot of mock test enquiries so I'm unable to reply to everyone straight away 😊
How is doing 35 in a 30 only a minor 😄🤔
Was it pissing you off 😂😭
Hey no she wasn’t aware she was doing it and after waiting at the roundabout for so long with the clutch burning
I knew I had to say something and we’ll she’s learnt from it
So it’s all good 😊
@@ClearviewDriving teach me how to be so patient
If you can smell a burning clutch then you mask ain’t working. Therefore pointless
Ahh the mask days
