Its 33% in 15 min because he left the phone turned on. If the phone is turned off charging, it would charge faster. Otherwise, the phone gets overheated while its on, charging.
That’s what I’m afraid of. I’m debating on buying a third party fast charger with apples usb-c to lightning cable to get a cheaper solution just in case I need fast charging. But not sure if it’s worth the money for some random circumstances that I would need one.
Nothing that U are saying has nothing to do with the heating of the device, and less by the fact that the charge of that iPhone will be fast. U should document about fast charging. I own a fast charging phone and it heats up less than I had before that I did not have that kind of charge. 🤷🏻♂️
The fast charger is definitely a lot better than standard, but I don’t recommend using it daily. The charger itself won’t damage the iPhone/battery. BUT heat is the #1 enemy of any battery. The cooler you keep your phone over-all, the better the battery life will be. When fast charging, the battery gets really warm. Especially if you have a case on. That’s why - ONLY fast charge when you absolutely need to. Other than that, normal standard charging is best for battery life in a long span of time
is it okay to leave my phone charging even after it hits 100%, like when i leave it charging while sleeping. Or is it gonna damage the battery overtime.
It cannot overheat. It will cut the power and it never gets hot. I have charged every phone I have had overnight. The phone regulates voltage so you cannot overcharge it.
I have always charged my phones overnight. It cannot be overcharged and will not overheat. Technically speaking, charging a lithium ion battery over 80% repeatedly can degrade the battery faster over time. However, most people only keep their phones for 2 to 3 years maximum and in that time it won’t really affect. To me it’s not worth giving up the convenience of just putting them in and unplugging in the morning.
curse been using iPhones for 10 years now and charging them always overnight and never had a problem. I just upgraded my 6S+ this week to the XS Max after using it for 3 years and it was still working great. I gave it to my 19 year old as it upgraded his 6 and gave his 6 to my 15 year old to upgrade his 5S. My wife doesn't want to upgrade her 6S which she's had for 3 years also and charging every night before bed!
If all you do is fast charge then yes it will damage the battery more quickly. Once in a while is fine. However, other manufactures include a fast charger that they recommend you use all of the time and it works fine with their batteries for two years
I agree with you a completely!! I’ve been using the iPad charger since I bought it 3 yrs ago and it works great. And it’s only like $20 retail so that’s the best way to go in my opinion.

But I didn’t like how hot it would make my phone, so after buying the 18w Adapter I’m happy to say it doesn’t make my phone heat up. Apparently 18w is what “activates” the fast charging feature for the newer iPhones. Also normally if I’m not using my phone, I just put it in airplane mode and lower the brightness down to 0. That normally helps it charge faster, and reduces the phone to over heat. Even though it doesn’t over heat now, even while using it on Cellular and WiFi. But it does charge a bit faster than the iPad charger. If you’re in a need for a quick charge before heading out to work or whatever. I recommend the 18w charger. So, with the iPhone X i used the iPad charger to charger pretty much since day 1. Fast forward almost a year later, the battery health was at 89% so I was wondering if using the iPad charger affects the battery health of the iPhone?
I literally never go under 20%. As soon as it turns red I plug it in and I always use the 12w adapter. From 20% to 100% it usually takes an hour and 45 minutes.
Albert Diaz they said keeping your phone charged between 20%-80% make the battery last longer. Every couple of months you should let it die and charged it all the way to 100%.
Get a Pixel Charger - it’s extremely similar to the one Apple is planned to announce with the new iPad models in October and you can buy it right now 18W in a small package, not expensive either
So you're basically saying you use the iPad charger then??!! Lol. The wireless charger isn't going to connect if it's already plugged in, receiving a charge. Sounds like a good way to blow something up..... thank God they do this automatically. Lol

hi Aaron, can you advise at what battery percentage should you best charge your phone (i.e 20%, 30%, etc). And how many times should you charge per day?
If it drops below 20% from time to time it’s not an issue, but over 3-4 years 20% is the lowest for everyday according to many battery experts. You can ha RGE whenever you need to. I typically charge if I am driving or at night.
But ios devices last 5 years or more . Android last 2 if youre lucky. Watch them finally include a fast charger then youll have retards complaining my battery is dying
I have a few questions. I just got my first iPhone a few days ago, my girlfriend bought me the iPhone xs Max. I was always a samsung guy and an android since the first phone that was released I had it pre ordered (htc G1). I did love android and I still do as it is a very good OS and limitless as to what you can do. To be honest the real reason I switched off was because I wanted to be able to iMessage, Facetime and the location sharing. It's been amazing I love it and now I must say iPhone is my favorite and I don't know if i could go back as its so fast and very easy once you get it down. I had a few issues come up as far as trying to figure stuff out but its been pretty easy and I love iMessage and Facetime they are perfect. I just had a question on using the fast chargers and I hear that using them often will degrade your battery life. Is any of this true? Also what ipad charger do you use any ipad charger? does it have to be USB C to Lightning or can I use normal cables? Thanks so much!
Dustin It's true that your battery performance will be poor later on. I suggest you buy a power adapter that's for an iPad. Personally I have the 12w brick and it's pretty decent (not super fast but it charges it quicker and it doesn't harm my battery performance. It's listed for $19.99 at Apple or you can get a higher watt brick. You don't need to buy a different cable just make sure it has the right ports. If you need any other assistance let me know. :)
I know this is different than the video topic, but I've noticed galaxy phones that get charged up with the fast charging brick, dont have good battery life.. but if they're charged with the slow charger, it's a slow trickle charge and the battery life lasts hours longer. I'm not very sure about iPhones and fast charging
Maybe you can test this... charge one phone with a fast charger, and one with a regular charger and see which last longer. My bet is the one with the trickle charge will hold more power and last longer
Great video :) I don’t understand what all this obsession with fast charging is though. Sure it’s useful if you are in a rush and need to top up your phone before going out, but if you plan your charges, you can maximise your battery life significantly. Charging your phone faster generates more heat and over time will wear the battery out faster. If you plan your charges well and want to charge overnight. I use either a half amp / 1 amp standard apple charger and plug it in just before I go to sleep. On the plug, a timer so it automatically turns the plug off so it won’t trickle charge. I have never had to replace a battery in my phone because of this. There is a reason apple supply you with a 1 amp charger in the box. Another tip, your better off regularly topping up your phone and keeping it between 50% & 80% charge. Sometimes that is not possible, but my rule of thumb is to not let it drop below 20%. If the battery needs a calibration then a full discharge and full charge will sort it, but these modern batteries don’t have any memory effect. I do this maybe every three months and it has helped keep my batteries very healthy!
the degradation in battery life isn't even all that significant, especially when you're only going to use that device for two years and then get another one. being able to get enough juice for a day from a 30 minute car ride with your car charger beats the breaks off hoping you don't use your device too much and can't get a decent charge until you get home and go to bed.
Outdated knowledge.....fast chargers like OnePlus dash charge completely takes away heat from the phone into the charger.......it charges much more faster (60% in 30min), more efficient and phone will be cooler than your iPhone.....but charger will be big and ugly and get really hot. But apple is still stuck using old slow charger and still has to slow down phones to extend battery🤣
Ain'tMyself you should try to avoid draining the battery below 20% as it is not optimum for battery longevity. Did you know that charging 20-60% degrades the battery a third less than charging 80-100%, that is three times more juice for one third less of a battery cycle.
I regularly use the stock charger with the 2meter cable when I go to bed at night If for for some reason I need a quick charger I have the 30watt charger with the usbc to lightning cable To be honest the people at my job use my fast charger more than me I usually don’t need to use it unless I’m off and I been on my phone all day but then I want to go to the gym

The iPad 12w adapter charges up to 90% as fast as the ‘’fast charger’’ that apple wants you to buy and costs less than half, so is actually the way to go.
Actually, when not fast charging, the 29w usb -c apple charger has a slightly higher amperage at 5.4V/2.4A and charges a bit faster than any of the anker devices I own with similar spec. I bought an Apple OEM USB-C to lightning cable and Apple OEM USB-C 29 watt charger on ebay for $30. Well worth the money.
I get a pretty quick charge plugging my iPhone X directly into the USB on my iMac. Late 2013 version. I charge my iPad pro on the same computer as well as my Apple Watch series 3, and all 3 charge pretty quickly.
The 87watt charges the same as the 29w charger and there’s only a 15min difference in charge time with the iPad 12w charger so that’s the best and most affordable one to buy
I wanna see a test of how hot all these phones get. Quick charge just thrashes your battery. Whichever phone stays coolest should be considered the best.
Did you charge with the display on the entire time? Charges much faster with the display off or the device off. I’m using an Anker 29W brick and the Apple USB-C to lightning cable.
1. I charged my new iPhone 12 with my MacBook first saw massive decline in MacBook Pro health 2. so I charged with 61 w adapter, a burning smell start coming from my charging area of iPhone....quickly went to I phone store and bought 20 watt charger. my doubt is both the process is good as per many UA-camrs , why I found fault in both case?
I really don’t understand all this people complaining about the fast charger. I’m absolutely shure that the most of them are Android fans who just wanna complain about Apple products. I have the 30W charger cause it comes with the 12in macbook and I literally never use the macbook. I only use it occasionally for the University when I need to use macros or certain excel functions. Out of that, I always use the iPad Pro and I could perfectly use the 30w charger to charge my phone (cause I also have a usb-c to lightning cable) but I don’t! Why? Cause I don’t need it! I always have battery. The iPhone XS Max have an amazing battery and you perfectly can charge at night! I use the wireless charger and yeah, it takes hours to charge the phone, but you know what? I always sleep at least 6 hours. And even if one day I can’t charge my phone or I’m tired enough or something, I can charge it in the car, while I’m taking a shower or my breakfast. This is not the end of the world!
They sell a lot of good 2.4A charging adapters on Amazon for less than $15. Some good brands are Anker, Aukey, Amazon Basics, iClever, and RAVpower. If you want a USB-C charging adapter it might run you $20-$25 but still a lot cheaper than Apple.

I use an anker powerport 5+ USBC PD and get from 0-80% in an hour which gives similar results to my MacBook Pro 61w charger.
alan piggin is it making mobile worm.
They were putting 5 wats power brick since 2009 and I want the big brick in the box
So, with the iPhone X i used the iPad charger to charger pretty much since day 1. Fast forward almost a year later, the battery health was at 89% so I was wondering if using the iPad charger affects the battery health of the iPhone?

charging with a macbook adapter, can it make battery health go down?
If you use it all the time yes
I literally never go under 20%. As soon as it turns red I plug it in and I always use the 12w adapter. From 20% to 100% it usually takes an hour and 45 minutes.
Albert Diaz they said keeping your phone charged between 20%-80% make the battery last longer. Every couple of months you should let it die and charged it all the way to 100%.
Get a Pixel Charger - it’s extremely similar to the one Apple is planned to announce with the new iPad models in October and you can buy it right now
18W in a small package, not expensive either
Maybe it could charge more quickly if screen was turned off
Aeroplane mode would be cherry on top
Is this 87w adapter safe to charge a iPhone XS Max or any iPhone for that matter?
Aaron, I use the IPad charger and the wireless charger at nighttime.
at the same time?
They don’t work at the same time if you have one plugged in it will always take what is plugged in and turn off the wireless charging
So you're basically saying you use the iPad charger then??!! Lol. The wireless charger isn't going to connect if it's already plugged in, receiving a charge. Sounds like a good way to blow something up..... thank God they do this automatically. Lol
Do u know which wireless charger charges n is proven n safe?
Joshua james I use the Anker wireless charger.
if I use my MacBook Air 30watt charger which is also type c, will it take the same amount of time ?
I’m always charging my SE with the 12W iPad charger and the 2m cable.
The SE is not charging faster when using a different charger...
cleverhorse sure that it is an SE? My SE seems not to charge any differently using the iPad instead of the iPhone Charger. I've read that the iPhone 6s and newer do indeed charge differently.
That’s just a small difference like 0,9ampere vs 1.2 ampere
Only iphone plus and ipad and 8 or newer iphone could charging faster
@@Tresvigint in fact the 6s and newer can... Apple did advertise it with the iPhone 8 and the special USB-C charger, but the iPad charger works as well...
Frank Niethardt how much ampere for 6s? My 6s could draw 1.2 ampere
hi Aaron, can you advise at what battery percentage should you best charge your phone (i.e 20%, 30%, etc). And how many times should you charge per day?
If it drops below 20% from time to time it’s not an issue, but over 3-4 years 20% is the lowest for everyday according to many battery experts. You can ha RGE whenever you need to. I typically charge if I am driving or at night.
Thank you so much. Have a happy new year
Can I use a fast charging brick from my Android phone?
selw0nk yeah
Yes but its not optimized for your device and the Battery may get fatter and catch fire
No , samsung already takes care of their phones blasting
Please can someone explain why they don’t put the 12W adapter in the box?According to their website, the 5W and 12W cost the same🤔
This is normal charging time in Android world even with 4000mah
But ios devices last 5 years or more . Android last 2 if youre lucky. Watch them finally include a fast charger then youll have retards complaining my battery is dying
Lol
dannyyy - who cares about software updates like iOS 13 dark mode other than that nothing significant much has changed
Does this damage battery ? If I use it regularly to charge my iphone ?
Great comment
Thanks for the advice!!
Making excuses for apple to give a $1 charger in the box. It’s always about the bottom line with apple
the degradation in battery life isn't even all that significant, especially when you're only going to use that device for two years and then get another one. being able to get enough juice for a day from a 30 minute car ride with your car charger beats the breaks off hoping you don't use your device too much and can't get a decent charge until you get home and go to bed.
Bought an 18 watt charger yesterday and i was told at the apple store it would work just as fast as a 87 watt charger , need to check it out tomorrow.
What about battery health pls? After using 18 w
It seems to me like it charger faster when I put my phone into airplane mode or low power mode. I never timed it but does anyone does this too?
Danilo Ribeiro Yes me too. Also if you turn off
Yes I does this too
always charging my iPhone with airplane mode on so it charge quickly
Start at 0% and try. Because the initial 1-2% take more time.
Even I think he should have started with 0 %
It would take three minutes longer. It’s super fast from 0-50
Ain'tMyself you should try to avoid draining the battery below 20% as it is not optimum for battery longevity. Did you know that charging 20-60% degrades the battery a third less than charging 80-100%, that is three times more juice for one third less of a battery cycle.
@@andyH_England it's nonsense....that's only applicable for old lithium ion battery
@tits mcghee lol....mine can charge 70% in 30min and we all need this
Wow thats almost as fast as my s6 was 5 years ago, not too shabby Apple, you're only half a decade behind.
I don’t need fast charging. I have a power bank when I’m out for a day or more
junbi1982 same here
Wich one do you have im looking for one
@@M1lan2124 got a big 16000MAH from Xiaomi a while back. It's pretty big but charges everything

I regularly use the stock charger with the 2meter cable when I go to bed at night
If for for some reason I need a quick charger I have the 30watt charger with the usbc to lightning cable
To be honest the people at my job use my fast charger more than me I usually don’t need to use it unless I’m off and I been on my phone all day but then I want to go to the gym
I use the note 9 and it already comes with fast charging ;)

Even iPhone has USB-PD system, it still make the phone warm(it may harm your battery for sure due to high temperature)
12 watt and airpods should be in the box
Techkid720 so you wanna play an extra 200 dollars for a phone
Techkid720 could say yes to 12 watt but Airpods? In your dreams lol
New iPhones are getting a lot of heat for their slow charging even using the auxiliary fast chargers ... how true is this?
The iPad 12w adapter charges up to 90% as fast as the ‘’fast charger’’ that apple wants you to buy and costs less than half, so is actually the way to go.
Luis Perez get third party 12w. Better and cheaper. Like anker or aukey
I do too. And it’s way cheaper
Luis Perez how do u know
Actually, when not fast charging, the 29w usb -c apple charger has a slightly higher amperage at 5.4V/2.4A and charges a bit faster than any of the anker devices I own with similar spec. I bought an Apple OEM USB-C to lightning cable and Apple OEM USB-C 29 watt charger on ebay for $30. Well worth the money.
Does it matter whether or not you charge a Macbook pro with a non apple charger? Will anything happen to it when using it for couple of years? Thanks!
my XR chargers way faster well by like 40 mins and it lasts from 7 am to around 8 pm before its around 10 percent
Wow. Mine lasts 2 days, you must be a hardcore user :) great battery, never had such a great performance.
Same with mine, the iPhone XR has insane battery life I get around 8 hours of screen on time.
Bruh it’s the XR what do you expect

I get a pretty quick charge plugging my iPhone X directly into the USB on my iMac. Late 2013 version. I charge my iPad pro on the same computer as well as my Apple Watch series 3, and all 3 charge pretty quickly.
I just put on airplane mode when I charge my iPhone it charges pretty fast for me.
was the screen on for all the charging? I am sure that affects charge times, as the screen is the biggest contributor to discharging of the battery
:))) i charge my oneplus 6 in 55 min full
Oppo has a patented special form of fast charging faster than anyone else. Dash charging is pretty special.
It won’t last more than 2 years
The 87watt charges the same as the 29w charger and there’s only a 15min difference in charge time with the iPad 12w charger so that’s the best and most affordable one to buy
Yep
Im using 12w charger and I charge iphone x in 1hr from 5%to 100%
While charging in MacBook Pro charger, the Mobile battery gets damage or not ?
Pretty slow compare to the King 👑 fast charging OnePlus (3 years old tech)

But nice video anyways

Possible to compare the battery health of an iPhone using fast charging and another one using normal charging after a year or two?
I wanna see a test of how hot all these phones get. Quick charge just thrashes your battery. Whichever phone stays coolest should be considered the best.
Apple throttles voltage based on heat. Mine rarely gets hot
How much time does it takes to charge it 100% with the 12 watt charger???
Is it safe to charge the 11 pro max with the macbook adapter?
Didn’t Apple phones come with the bigger brick with the big apple on the side? Back then
Did you charge with the display on the entire time? Charges much faster with the display off or the device off. I’m using an Anker 29W brick and the Apple USB-C to lightning cable.
Does it safe to use Macbook Pro charger?
And do I need any specific cable? or just normal Apple cable will do?
Is the cable ready for fast charging?
i use my iPad charger on my iPhone XR and it charges pretty quick its definitely a life saver
Hello done subscribing what Watts does iphone xs max support pls answer pls
They sell a lot of good 2.4A charging adapters on Amazon for less than $15. Some good brands are Anker, Aukey, Amazon Basics, iClever, and RAVpower. If you want a USB-C charging adapter it might run you $20-$25 but still a lot cheaper than Apple.
Wonder how much it effected the charge times by the screen being constantly on
how long does it take to charge it with the included adapter?
Will it effect the battery of iPhone X if I charge it with MacBook Pro charger ?
Try the 12 watt iPad charger same cord and takes about the same but cheaper
Does it make a huge difference if i use a 87w or 18w? Will it be faster?
Thanks for this video to update the fast charging for the 2018 iPhones. I also use my iPad charger to charge my iPhone. 😄
Were you keeping the screen on while charging..? Seemed like you did at certain times
