  • Ever found yourself stumped on how to color leaves? In this video, I choose leaves from every Johanna Basford adult coloring book to date. Secret Garden, Enchanted Forest, Lost ocean, Magical Jungle, Johanna's Christmas, World of Flowers, Ivy and the Inky Butterfly, and How to Draw Inky Wonderlands.
    I also used a different colored pencil brand for each leaf. Faber-Castell Polychromos, Prismacolors, Arteza, Black Widow, Stabilo Pastel, Ergosoft, Castle Art, and Copic Markers. The links for all the supplies can be found below. All colors are listed in the video, at the start of every pencil change.

    Wow, 10 minutes to color 2 leaves. I need to spend more time on my leaves. I tend to "cookie cutter" my leaves. I'll try harder, maybe I'll try your way. Thank you for sharing. You color beautifully.

    Just loved what you did here, so exciting to now go and apply all I learned by watching. One tiny suggestion - it would be wonderful to have a few seconds to see the final result of each leaf (you moved on so quickly!). Helps to absorb the result/effects of all the layers and blending. Thank you for your content!

    When you're colouring would you do all the leave at the same time or 2 at a time like in the 1st video?

    • @EmilyIllustrator
      @EmilyIllustrator  3 роки тому +5

      A lot of times, it depends on my mood, but I think generally, I'd do the full cluster of leaves at the same time. So, like, all the dark green, then the mid green, etc. It helps when trying to remember what color order I'm going in.

    How do you sharpen the German (I believe that's what they are) pencils? I don't trust myself to use a knife and I've tried to locate a sharpener that fits that shape but have not been able to, so far.

    Not my favourite type of video because you have to concentrate too hard on what is happening on screen (I can't multitask and do something else as well as watch). I enjoyed it all the same and will probably watch again when I can concentrate on it a little more.
