You don't have to buy bottles of water. Fill up empty containers: 2 liter bottles, juice bottles and empty milk jugs. Put some in your freezer now. Fill your bathtub to use as water to flush your toilet. Charge your electronics now. Have flashlights handy. Think about losing power for a few days. Good luck. Stay safe, from Florida.
Exactly right, and if you do lose power, completely power off most of the phones in the household, and use them one at a time. Don't forget you can charge them in your car if all else fails. Check all your flashlights now, and change batteries as required. Be suspicious of your tap water once the storm starts. Keep the heck off the roads - there will be trees and wires and other hazards all over the place.
Wow. Floridians are well prepared. Thank you from a Southern Californian!
Brilliant! Obviously from an expert 😉
Have your insurance policy number and contact information stored on your phones; get your pet information sorted out too! Don’t forget the meds!

FAKE NEWS!!!! It's a rain storm!!!!
Floridians don't get out of bed for anything under Category 3 lol
It will be 1 DAY of heavy rains, about 3 inches. They play it up because we have a bunch of IDIOTS living on the coast who don't have a sliver of common sense, they build right on the beach or build on a cliff and can't understand why the cliff gave way when they got heavy rains.
California is gonna survive this tropical storm and then will brag about it for years and tease Florida about their cat 5 hurricanes being nothing since cali made it through the tropical storm no sweat. I can see it now. 😂

Hello from the gulf coast Texas/Louisiana border! I rode out hurricane Harvey and experienced first hand what tropical storm rain can do. A "go" bag is not an option here, i was born and raised in cave creek Arizona, turn around don't down? If you are staying behind, for whatever reason, you need to hunker down and have a path to high ground, if things get dicey, DO NOT DRIVE!!! The recommendation here is to simply leave, NOW, before the storm gets there. We evacuate no matter what. There is no excuse for being a "tough guy" against nature. Take a trip to Phoenix/SF, tonight! Don't wait for confirmation that it's dangerous, once danger is confirmed it is too late! Turn around don't drown!!! Desert flash flooding is NOT a joke! You know what 1" of rain will do! This is 3-10"!!! Get real! Get out of there!
Great advice. Better safe than sorry!
Eh, I'll be fine, just tarred my roof and reinforced the windows yesterday

Wish those poor people in Maui had this kind of warning. 😢
They did. 3 yrs ago. The government did nothing about the grasslands that were deemed a fire hazard. Downed utility lines, on those grasslands were the ultimate cause of that horrific tragedy.
That could've been avoid, like many California wildfires, because the climate activists won't let the government do controlled burns anymore. It's all quite ironic.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Praying for yall I hate hurricanes
Don't worry we've NEVER had a Hurricane in California and NEVER will; Pacific Ocean is far too cold. Hurricanes need at least 80 degrees water temperature like they get in the Atlantic.
Get ready California. It may have been 83 years since the last tropical storm. But things are changing. All these coastal areas are prone to hurricanes. We have other countries are burning. That Maui fire is still just devastating. It's not over people. Pray & brace yourselves. 🙏🏽
I disagree, This is just a rare occurrence, And it wontl happen again for a while. You should warn Florida and Texas.
@@poorchristopher15 Disagree all you want, unless you have evidence. This hurricane cannot be decisively linked to AGW, but it may be linked. More extreme weather is in store for the entire planet. Including FL and TX.
@poorchristopher15 Why, when it's California, that's in its path? Arizona & Vegas.. ?? Make sense
Antelope Valley had a tropical storm in 1978. 3 inches in one hour. SEPTEMBER
"When you think of Long Beach, you think of long beaches."

Everyone take care the best you can.
Tornadoes in California is what yall need to watch out for
Nah....
I read somewhere recently that USA gets like 85% of all tornadoes that occur. It’s crazy we get so many of the global tornadoes 😂
Some are forecasting it for the high desert as the storms break up. Not unheard of either when its the perfect recipe with all the moisture.
😂 never happens here
Would be cool though to see
Yall will be good... Just pay attention to flooding. The direction of the spin of the storm is in your favor. It isn't gonna slam directly into you as it would if it was spinning the other way.
If you have a gas stove and electricity goes out, you can still cook. We did it during Katrina here in New Orleans.
You mean, if you STILL have a gas stove, despite the Greenie Weenies' best efforts to panic you.
wow thanks for the great knowledge,i never thought of that
The portable gas stoves are better than the big gas stoves inside the kitchen.
People who own those small portable gas stoves can use them anywhere where it’s safe from the effects of the storm.
Or a BBQ grill.
But shhh don’t tell the environmentalists…
Im in FL. Its nice to have a GAS generator to run your fridge and keep your food from spoiling. You can also run some fans and charge your phones, etc.Maybe even your car..... A gas grill is good for cooking and even boiling water. No electricity and all.
Gas generators and other small gas motors are illegal next year in California, including gas chain saws.
Gotta learn somehow.@@tonyburzio4107

California stay safe and do what’s right to protect yourself and don’t trust anyone look what happened in Maui. Don’t listen to the news
Completely different, Maui's authorities downplayed the fires, L.A. does the opposite, 3 inches of rain in 24 hours is major catastrophe. Of course, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to think you shouldn't build on a cliff or right on the beach which is what those idiots do.

first tropical storm since 1939😭 be safe everyone🙏
Not true. Yes, they're rare but we have had Hurricanes come up from BAJA before, of course they always turn into a tropical storm before they reach us, waters too cold. News stations out of L.A. operate on the false premises that NOTHING EXISTS beyond the coast. FYI, it's not expected to last more than 24 hours, 3 inches max.
get over it

Tropical Storm! We have lots of other storms generally
Lokey excited for this 😂
Biden ten minutes ago has finally weighed in on the storm on it's way to southern California when he said "storm, what storm? where? Southern California? Sure hope San Antonio doesn't get hit hard. Love that town. Who wants some ice cream?"
😂😂😂😂
Biden was very supportive in todays briefing. He and first lady are going to visit Maui next week in support of their fire tradgedy! Its really important in times of emergency to feel the support of our potus, governors, and local leaders❤❤❤
@@Soapboxstomper he only decided to go there and try to offer support after many times of saying "no comment" it's pretty sad when the administration is shamed into doing something
May God have mercy on us all!
😒 come on now….ALL?
its all gooood
If you have half a brain and have sliver of common sense then you have nothing to worry about. News stations seem to think the people along the coast are the only ones that EXIST. Although rare, we have had hurricanes come up from Baja before, if it doesn't effect the coast line then they think it doesn't count. We, who don't live on the coast have enough common sense to not drive through washes when it's raining in the surrounding hills, to not build on a cliff or right on the beach. We pay attention to the NATURAL pathways of flowing water, so we don't get mudslides flowing down our streets every time we get a heavy rain. LMAO
Actually, He already has. The issue is if we will humble ourselves and accept it.
Oh mighty Sky ghost 👻
Is landfall gong to occur at high tide?...or low tide. This makes a difference. Why don't they mention that bit of info?
"Slammed by heavy downpour" videos are of a moderate rain, a close up shot of a drain doing its job, and a small flooded street
Take this warning seriously Californiians

We see a lot of talk about the expected winds and rains, but what about the expected storm surge and timing with the tides??
they literally covered that in the video 🙄
@@sarahbaartmansrevenge There is no specific mention of 1. How high the storm surge is expected to be at the height of the storm, let alone where those surges will be; 2. What the tides will be at the time the center of low pressure arrives on shore. No need to show me where in the video track this information is given - It isn't. I have lived through 5 hurricanes on the east coast. Storm surge and tide data is fundamental to any adequate forecast, when it comes to hurricanes and tropical storms.
Pay attention to the forecasters, and demand they tell all of you all the information you need to be safe. (insert "sigh" emoji; insert "good luck" emoji).
They have built tall burms along the shoreline past few days. Folks have been sand bagging homes and businesses also near the coast even through today

Cal Trans and every city's maintenance crews should have been clearing storm drains this past weeks in preparation. I need to be able to traverse through these streets in order to do my looting. I mean foraging for food.
Please everyone knows you only steal from high end Department Stores and an occasional Walgreens. Besides, when has California ever prepared for any disaster.
City depts have well coordinated and well communicated! Excellent job by city leaders❤❤❤
Hahaaaa yeah right!
Your analysis is excellent. I believe I can she some insight. The algorithm must metastasize between a set of parameters to govern a wide dispersion rate. The objective is to cover as much surface area as possible. In this instance, the equation is being diluted , therefore, the vociferous nature of the storm will subside.
BTW when the storm hits you may need to survive for 72 hours on your own.
Not expected to last more than 24 hours, about 3 inches total. When it reaches us it WON'T BE a Hurricane, our waters are too cold, well below the required 80 degrees.
@@Gloria-ro4vn The 72-hour period is a basic estimate for rescue services to be provided, power restored, etc. Expect to live on your own if there is widespread flooding. They can't individually evacuate tens of thousands of people. In stronger storms the isolation can last weeks, even in the contiguous US.
@@Krranski Southern California is a damn DESERT, we have a desert climate. You don't build on cliffs, on beaches, or across NATURAL pathways of flowing water when it rains. When you see storm clouds on any surrounding hills, you damn well check to see if water is coming down the hill in low lying areas. Many a car has been swept away when it's clear as day where they were and raining in the hills. We get very little rain but when we do the sky opens up. I have lived here for 70+ years and yet to see authorities take preventative measures for living in a Desert Climate. They let people build in areas where they know they shouldn't. Prohibit people from clearing brush in rural areas, because they need to "give the wildlife a place to live " then all those little animals are turned into crispy critters when fires break out. If they had kept the areas clear the little animals would have had a safe place to flee to when they had a fire . You adapt to your surroundings and follow nature's laws or you die, too bad they take innocent people with them.
Man this comment is everything 😂😂 72hr on your own lmao
