I love being a homemaker! I was raised in a secular household by parents who both worked and expected (and often pressured) that I would grow up to be a career woman. I started working part time at 14 and went on to college to become a journalist. When I entered into the real world to find my (parents’) “dream career,” I often found myself struggling to keep up with the cutthroat atmospheres and settling into a place that felt like a good fit for me. After marriage, my husband encouraged me to stop working and explore some creative and freelance outlets from home. I appreciated that opportunity so much, but still felt a lot of pressure to “work” from my parents and just society at large. I didn’t feel like I was good enough. I was made to feel lazy. It wasn’t until after converting to Catholicism and having children that I really found my confidence and joy in homemaking and stopped fretting about what people thought about what I did with my time. I know my children and husband love the security of always having me home, eager to serve them and make our living environment as joyous as possible. I credit Catholic culture so much with helping me find my real passion, as it more warmly accepts homemaking than other sections of our society.

You are the only mother I’ve ever heard say “it is not a stressful life”. Wow! There is so much resentment in our culture today toward home making and mothering. This is so refreshing.

I love the freedom that comes with being a stay at home wife and homeschooling mother. I love to listen to prayers on UA-cam while doing my chores. A few I like are The Litany of St. Joseph, The Litany for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, and The Divine Mercy Chaplet. For me the downside is not getting enough alone time. I'm an introvert so it's very important to me.

Hi, I'm not a mom, in fact I'm a man. LoL. I found you by accident. I ordered the Acension Adventure bible and saw your review of it. In fact mine literally just arrived, I'm excited to open it up and get going. But I also want to say, We men can learn from you as well. First we can learn to appreciate all that homemakers do, I learned about having a home altar , and I love to cook, feed people, I am a pretty good cook. My main focus in life right now is growing my catholic faith and coming closer to jesus. I look forward to learning more from you and others. God bless you

My teen agers love to come home to a hot meal, a hug, a kiss a compassionate ear. My senior says he or his wife will also be a home maker n be there for their children. I'm blessed to have stayed home with my 4 babies. The daily work can be lonely but, it's very rewarding💯. Being frugal is hardest on teens.

I write novels from home. I consider myself a homemaker with a hobby. It is shocking to some people that I have a doctorate degree and enjoy homemaking but I love taking care of my husband and my home. Although I am fortunate to make money from home and use my skills this way, I love homemaking. It is so fulfilling. I am so fortunate. God is good. If I am ever blessed with children I will be able to be at home with them all day and see every milestone and still make money at home! Being a modern woman allows us so many options as homemakers in a society where two income households are almost necessary! Thanks for your videos!

Thank you for writing this! I just received my doctorate June 2019 and I think it seems weird to people that I am primarily homemaking while I also work for my husbands company from home. My husband and I have two girls. It’s encouraging to hear of others thriving in homemaking and able to work from home too!!!

I too am a stay at home wife( soon to be mom) and writing has always been something I’ve been passionate about. Especially around Faith centered subjects and my point of view being a Gen z former ‘woman’ where feminist ideals were imprinted on my brain, to now being a complete 180 degree turn around in Catholicism and attending the TLM. I guess I’m just not sure how to start, I have an Ig page but I don’t like IG as a platform in general

This video couldn’t have been more timely! My husband and I were just discussing the importance of homemaking and how crucial it is for raising children. I was saying how I was feeling a little insecure because my friends have good jobs, successful, going on vacation etc.. fearful of being casted as lazy or not contributing to our finances... but my husband made it very clear that what I’m doing is so important. I’m just reminded how blessed I am to be able to be with my little guy every day because I couldn’t fathom leaving him at a day care or something. I know not everyone has that luxury.
Thanks Heather and I hope your little ones are doing well God bless you and your family I wish we could hangout hehe

My mum was a stay at home mum when we werw growing up. I can't tell u how good it felt coming home from school knowing she was there! ☺
She went back to work when we were older. She is retired now and stays home. Even now when we go home to check on my parents, it feels good knowing mum is home 🙏

Thank you for reassuring me and others. God bless your gift.
I’m so blessed to be a stay at home mum. But I do miss socialising. So going to the shops and never really order things on line and I help at church with kids adoration sessions and helping at school excursion etc
And being there for my teenage boys morning and afternoon which is comforting for them if anything happened at school etc
My husband works home once a week so we can have lunch together
I love how everyone feels loved and wanted.
I’ve come to realised that everyone has a gift to use and can juggle what they can cope with. God only knows what we can cope with 🙏

I love being a stay at home mom and homemaker, like my mom, and grandma before me. I went to college and planned to be a teacher, but when my husband proposed I asked if he would be willing to let me stay home, at least while our children were young. I have never looked back. I adore the freedom of homemaking, I love the time that I have to manage children and household, and I love being able to take care of all of the little ends that would be annoying for my husband to have to tie up. I have to say that I’ve received some pretty cruel comments from women who work about “not contributing like my husband,” but my husband has reassured me throughout our marriage that he enjoys my staying home. Certainly we would be able to afford more trips and “stuff” if I worked, but I’d give up all of the trips and stuff a thousand times to be able to stay home and raise, and homeschool my kids. I consider it a great, great blessing that my vocation was so clear to me from the beginning of our marriage. I know that not everyone has the opportunity to stay home with their kids, but it’s worth it if you are able to try.❤️

I'm a homemaker. But I also work part time for a friend. We've been married 2 years. I plan to quit my job when I get pregnant. When we have a baby I wont work. I plan to homeschool. I worked at a Catholic school and the things those students said blew my mind. I would never send my kids to school unless it was the absolute last thing I'd do. As for being a homemaker.. I love it! I enjoy washing dishes, sweeping, cleaning, dusting, clothes.. I really enjoy making our home beautiful. I hope to start a blog and be able to bring in some money when I quit my job and have children. My husband likes me to be home with him so I've actually started coming off my hours. So one step at a time. I've always wanted to be a mom and I can't wait to be one! This is what I was meant to do.

It was a big adjustment financially and otherwise but it's been 8 years and it was the best decision for our family. My husband loves having me at home too 🥰. We both grew up with SAHMs and it was such a comfort knowing they were always there. Thx for your perspective, energy and for sharing God's love 💓

Thank you for making his video. I have been a homemaker for 25 years. Never in a million years before marriage would I have thought I would be a homemaker. I almost died when I had my daughter so I really changed my outlook on being a stay at home mom, life, and I became Catholic. I am so blessed that I was able to be a stay at home mom. At first we had very little money but my husband got promotions. His job now is extremely demanding and he travels a lot. So I am so thankful I can take care of the house and everything here so we have a great balance. Now our daughter tells me she is SO thankful I stayed at home and was here for her. I have also been here for my niece and nephew as well. In addition, I have sold antiques and sold on eBay for a side job. I kind of went on here but I was so excited when I saw your video. So many ladies need to hear what you are saying because our society does not support stay at home moms. Speaking of St Patrick- Did you see the new St Patrick movie coming out in the theatres? It is called Patrick it looks great. Thank you for this wonderful video. :)

You hit all the points of home making for me! My son is 2 and because health insurance is so expensive my husband has talked to me about looking for a part time with benefits... the thought of not being home for my son really crushes my heart.... I am praying on it and I know that whatever God wants that's how I intend to live my life; according to his will.
I feel like I still have so much to learn about home making and although financially I haven't been able to fully make our home Catholic Home♥️ I know that I am grateful every day to wake up and be my sons mom and be a good wife!

You should think about a career that allows you to work part time with full time pay. I'm a dental hygienist and only work 3 days a week. I get to have the satisfaction of having that adult time with coworkers and feeling good about the work I do. It also allows us to go on amazing family vacations yearly. It's the best of both worlds

Great video! I love being home with my family through all of the years and now that my children are grown it's nice to be home for my grandson.💙. To keep it fresh I always reflect, re-evaluate and refresh every semester and season. It keeps me motivated seeing the progress and benefits of me being there in the home... I sit down with hubby and we discuss where we are at and if I should keep pressing on at home, we pray about it and just take the true time to evaluate the pros and cons of me being home. The pros always outweigh the cons!! Always!
Yes, income is an issue being home but so rewarding and I love a good challenge! 😊 I refer to myself as a domestic diva on FBI! Haha I did that in 2009 and I guess I thought it was funny then... now it's hilarious! 🤣😂 Mother Mary is my role model! 🙏🏼

I worked until we began having children, total of 4-2 boys & 2 girls. When I became pregnant I began staying at home being a full time Mom & homemaker. These were the happiest, joy filled years of my life. Had the time to spend with each child as well as family time. Was never pressured, always enjoyed all my children everyday that I am not sure I would have had if I continued to work. I now enjoy being a Grandma-ma to eight Grandchildren.

I love homemaking also! Days when I feel like complaining I remind myself there is no where else I'd rather be. One way we afford for me to be a stay at home mom is because neither myself or my husband sees anything else as a possibility; we have to make this work (and we are a family of 4, almost 5, living on less than 30,000/year).

I was active duty Army for about 3 years so I got to test my physical and emotional limits before kids, then I got married to another soldier and had 2 boys. I was a homemaker for 7 years. I loved that time with my boys, it was the best. I went back to school and became a dental hygienist and I've worked mostly 3 days a week since 2009. I get that rewarding feeling of having my own career and financial freedom while I'm still able to be there for my boys. They are now 20 and 17 and it's been very fulfilling.

I wish I had been able to be a stay at home mom. My kids are grown now (21 and 20). My stepson lives on his own and my daughter is in college so technically still lives at home on breaks. I work from home now and have for 5 years. It’s been wonderful though I am still working. Just not having to drive to and from work has given me so much more time in my day. And I love using that time to clean, and tidy and make home decor for our house. I just feel that I missed my calling in that sense.....but what’s done is done and I just have to move forward.

I have always stayed home during the week since having kids but worked on Fridays and Saturdays as a hairstylist which I loved more than anything aside from my family! I really do not enjoy cleaning and organizing is something I struggle with a lot. We have 3 little kids age 3 and under so I feel like I just csnt keep up on the simple tasks. I was surprised to hear you say that you did ministry in Hawaii. What island did you live on? I ask, because, I live in Hawaii. I live in Hilo, on the Big Island.
Also, concerning homemaking; have you ever listened to Fr. Chad Ripperger? I was listening to one of his podcasts on UA-cam and the subject if the woman’s role in the household came up and he went on to say that unless it was absolutely necessary for the wife to go out to work; it was actually a mortal sin for the wife to seek a job outside of the home.
Have you heard of this? What are your thoughts? Thank you. You are very inspiring. God Bless🙏

Heather, I think the world of your videos! They’re tons of fun but more importantly your positive attitude toward homemaking with a large family and your faith based in real Catholicism are so inspirational. You have talent and love of Jesus and Mary!
There’s one tiny improvement you could make . You have a tendency to add “...and stuff “ to the end of sentences and it’s really distracting.
But otherwise, your videos are excellent in form and content and do much to help women, with me right at the top! God bless you and your lovely family!

    • @fouinyff6792
      @fouinyff6792 4 роки тому

      Welcome in the 31&single club ! ;)
It is hard, for sure but your life is not hopeless. God has given you this life to make you bear fruits. It may not be with a husband and children (but it may ! We are not that old..) but we have plenty of way to bear fruit. First of all by prayer. I strongly believe in the power and "efficiency" of prayer so I do pray a lot every day and I leave with God daily. At the end , God has created us for this: to be with him, to love him...that is our purpose! so even though it may seems a lost of time I know being in the church close to him is not a waste of time, going to daily mass is the greatest thing any one can do during the day, I know my prayers are not wasted time but are doing much more for others that I could do otherwise...
Your future is with God. As long as you are with him daily, loving him daily, then you are accomplishing the aim of your life. Do not look into life with human"s goal like career, family or stuff that we may long for.. Peace of heart - and even joy ! - can be found in God, I promise. I can't say I love being single..it is not true, I would love to have a husband and children... but I can honestly say I am happy and I am in peace(most of the time at least). God know better what's good for me, and I have to accept the cross that He gave me. Let's carry ours, with love for our Lord. "When I am weak, this is when I am strong" tell us St Paul.

Do you think it’s ok for me to have a full time career at least until I have children ? My husband both supports it and actually prefers it, also financially we need two incomes

What do you do when you have free time?? I only have 1 child right now so I feel like my day is very slow. It is quick and easy to clean then I'm just sitting around the rest of the day, and that makes me feel guilty for not doing something all day!

Don't feel guilty. Even ppl who work in the workforce usually have a slow part of the day/lull in their work day. Just see what else you can do around the home... "Play" for children is their work, send your child to "work" more, see playtime as helping them "work". Hope this helps.

If you are a Christian then I would strongly encourage you to pray and pray again. This is so useful and so needed for the world, the church, the conversion of sinners, in reperatation for all the sins, souls in purgatory that are suffering ... so many things to pray ! God has told us that only graces that we ask for will be given and that our prayers always have an effect..it is never wasted time.
Also if you can go out of your house, you could maybe help your parish or some charities (maybe even with your child around). You can always ask and you will see..

Wish I had that luxury :(. Unfortunately one income isn’t enough for us to have a comfortable financial situation so we both need to work. I would love to stay home and be a homemaker, though.

My cohost Rachel and I just recorded a podcast episode where we reacted to Theology of Home’s article called, “Why Women Love the Home But Not Being a Homemaker.” I wonder how you’d react to it! Please check it out! And if you ever want to be a guest on the show, please let me know and I can send you a list of our upcoming topics! FashionedByFaith.com

Jesus loves you very much, experience his love for you and repent before it's too late.
    (1) Romans 3:23 KJV [23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Q1. Do you know what Sin is?
Sin is anything bad that we have done.
    Q2. Have you sinned before?
    Yes or No?
    (2) Revelation 21:8 KJV [8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Because they have sinned, and God does not allow Sin into Heaven, the punishment is burning hell.
What is the way to reconcile our peace and relationship with God?
Q3. Do you know the Story of Jesus?
    (3) Romans 5:8 KJV [8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Jesus = God who lived up in Heaven, but he came down on earth and became a man like us, he lived for 33.5 years without committing any sin. Then there were certain people who were jealous and therefore framed him on phony charges, and crucified him. Then he was buried and resurrected on the third day; Now he lives in HEAVEN.
Q4. Do you know why Jesus went through all this bloody mess for us?
A4. As mentioned, our sin is the reason why we can’t go to heaven, and the only thing that can wash away our sin is the Blood of Jesus.
    (4) Romans 5:9 KJV [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
According to the bible, the only way for us to reconcile with God is through Christ Jesus’s blood, and not through any works that we do or merits we accumulate, such as water baptism, attending church, or any good thing that we do. The following verses clearly support this.
    (5) Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    (6) 2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV [10] For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
In order to get saved, repentance of one’s sin is needed to get saved, we need to be sorry, and repent, with conviction, that we are a wretched sinner.
    (7) Romans 10:9 KJV [9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
If you truly do believe in everything you have heard in the gospel, ,I strongly suggest you to make a proclamation to GOD!
Repeat after this simple prayer, to make sure you truly get saved.
    ‘Dear GOD,
I know I am a sinner, as I repent, I put my faith, that Jesus is GOD, and that he died, buried and resurrected, so that his blood, can wash away my Sins. I put my faith in that alone to save me, not my good works. In Jesus’s holy name, I pray. Amen!
