I don't think its at all in its original form, it's a cube of meat with a pumpkin shoved into it and some bone blocks glued to the sides. Its more of a flesh golem than a complete lifeform.
Also look at the fact it spits up some mysterious red liquid, probably an internal fluid used for carrying nutrients - blood.
This thing is not meant to be.
