CORONATION REVIEW OF THE RAF

  • (20 Jul 1953) At Odiham Airfield in Hampshire, over eleven hundred officers, airmen and airwomen were on parade for the RAF Coronation Review by the Queen. The Duke of Edinburgh accompanied Her Majesty, who was attended by Lord de L'Isle and Dudley, Secretary of State for Air. After inspecting the parade, there was a marchpast. In the afternoon, Her Majesty inspected the "Static display" of Aircraft of all types on the airfield. The aerial parade was the biggest and most intricate in its organisation that had ever been seen in Britain.
