A project started by me in October 2022, a totally enhanced R62/R62a for OpenBVE. Since the last video, I rescaled the model to the correct dimensions and revamped just about all the textures. The sound system is still a major W.I.P. and is currently being worked on by the BVE yard team.
Note: All people who contributed towards this project will be credited in the official release of the train.

You’ve definitely done a great job on this R62. It’s pretty solid for the most part aside from one thing. The trucks used are similar to the Redbirds and older SMEE equipment. The actual trucks are a bit different in comparison.

Fun Fact: the R62 are the smee in disguise when they we’re coming up with design and look of car they were also looking for a manufacturers who were going to install technology that was good and was going be compatible with the rest of fleet they couldn’t find one they used the Smee technology Alongside the R44/6 technology they combined the two and made the R62 components. They were also going to do this with. R68/R46 and make a R55 but this never came to rails they are photo of car when they first hit the rail running with Smee car and I laughed because the car were so shiny and the smee where the smee it did look to good so I see why they never went all the way like Chicago

A few things I would fix on this just by hearing this video, feel like it would make a huge difference
- R62’s don’t howl, so if anything just replace that noise with only track noise since that’s all you really hear
- Would be nice to have the R62’s HVAC be a toggle with a key somewhere on the keyboard, the current idle it has is a bit lack luster and usually R62’s are pretty silent when they’re idle without the compressor or HVAC on
- Try to make the proportions on the side rollsigns a little more accurate, seems like the bullet is too big in ratio with the destinations

Noted. Thanks for the suggestions. Sound system is still in development, so what you hear in the video will not be the final sounds. Might consider implementing the HVAC keybind system, but i'm still unfamiliar with how keybinds and pluginstates work. Glad you enjoyed the vid.
