Any reason why my pole saw leaks oil?
Your video is a life saver. I cut some heavy branches yesterday, chain got stuck and actually bent the little pin that is in middle for the tension of the chain. Had no idea how to put it back, had to kind of straighten out while still in screw so it would turn. Got it to finally turn and was able to take it off. Put it in vice and straighten it out. But did not remember how to put it all back had to scroll very slowly on your video... I was almost ready to buy another one...

Not sure why you don't like the design. Its a simple adjustment screw and a solid locking nut. Very standard stuff and from my experience, it cuts well.
It cuts like shit compared to the dewalt 20v dedicated pole saw dcbps620 or something like that I believe is the model number of dewalt im referring to but I can tell you that from first hand experience the Ryobi expand it attachment literally cuts about 1/4 to maybe half as fast as the dewalt and i used same voltage nominal 18v tools both 4 ah battery’s and even down to the same cells and number of cells inside and the Ryobi just is a dog from what I’ve seen
The entire thing seems cheaply made, loosens frequently, and I’m not a fan of the tension screw being smooshed up next to the bar. If you like it then it sounds like you’ve got the right tool for yourself, everyone has different preferences. Thanks for watching.
It cuts well, BUT, putting the chain back on after it has fallen off iI need a 3rd hand! Positioning everything has been very difficult for me. I get the pin into the hole, but the chain locks up, so I have to keep going backwards and repeating what I do. Your video helped me to get the unit cleaner. I also learned to get the chain really on and moving BEFORE I put the cover back on!! The Manual leaves out details like leaving the cover off until nearly finished. I'll keep trying. Thank You!

@@mainelysmallengineDIY I tilt the bar up and down, in and out and make sure it is straight ahead as I test if the chain will roll along; that is the 3rd hand action! The bar MAY have gotten slightly bent after it got stuck in a tree and the chain came off extricating it. ASSUMING the bar is O.K., all that moving and tilting lets me see if there is any binding against the 2 metal pieces that the bar fits over. I get the chain rolling and hold it in place the best I can while dropping the cover down and watching the "pin" drop into the slot. In my unit, the "pin" is sort of rectangular and the slot is round. There seems to be very little room for the "pin" to fully drop down. Anyway, as I said in the first comment, the chain moves as I tighten the screw. BUT, it still hangs up somewhere and only moves slightly. That is BEFORE I tighten the nut on the cover and while there is some slack in the chain. AAARRGGHH!

I need help! When I detached the extension pole, the green plug got yanked out of the pole, it's unseated from the pole. I can't shove it back in and there's a weird silver screw on the side of the grey bit that looks like a rivet or hex bolt..any idea how to reseat the plug or remove that bolt to better access the end?
This saw gets jammed and clogged SO often, that gap at the bottom of the saw is massive haha, I have to reseat the chain so often.

Hard to say without looking at it but if you can spin it by hand then there is something wrong with the drive somewhere down the line. Or maybe your clutch isn’t engaging.

Does the snap ring on the adjustable screw go on the inside or outside, I lost mine while cleaning
Are you talking about the chain tensioning screw?

Ok I just pulled the cover off of mine and looked. The screw goes through the cover, then it looks like a washer is on the other side, and then the screw threads into the adjuster. I have a pic of it too but there is no way to post it here.
