In China, "delicious" is pronounced "meiweide", but "tasteless" is also pronounced "meiweide", which leads to misunderstandings, so it's recommended to use "haochi" or "it's good". I believe the vast majority of Chinese people can understand what you want to express. I wish you a pleasant trip in China!❤
The guy was following you I can tell he is Uyghur Muslim guy from Xinjiang, Western China. From the video call he was having, he was very happy to meet you a new foreign friend, and he actually just would like to introduce you to his wife over video call, as he was trying to pay for drink(he is definitely not poor from his decent dressing), he was not expecting you to pay for him, as this is not in Chinese culture. But bro I really like your personality, you are a such a awesome guy. And you're so patient to overcome all those language barriers. Such amazing person you are.
I really think you are very friendly and happy to communicate with the locals and learn their language. By the way, there is no tipping culture in China, you don't need to give the seller extra tips, you can express your appreciation to the seller through language (like learning how to say delicious in Chinese)
Man it's rather unfortunately ur vids got low views, I saw it on Bilibili and it got about 50k views over there, so I have to come over and thumbs up for u, have fun in Shanghai🎉
@@Emekaiwueze In China, on bilibili (a kind of UA-cam in China), your video is translated to Chinese people, and it probably has nearly 200,000 views by now
@@Emekaiwueze By the way, eSIM is very rarely used in China, most people use SIM, so if you want to visit China again next time, you can consider using SIM, and eSIM seems to only be sold by China Telecom
@@Emekaiwueze The video on Bilibili gives out your channel's name which enable me to come to your channel to give a thumb up. Just let you know it is uncomfortable to be followed for others too. The friend who is following you has a distinctly Chinese Uyghur face, most of whom live in Xinjiang, the northwestern part of China, in the very center of the entire Eurasian continent. Many of them have probably never seen a person of color in their lives, so please don't take it personally when you see him following you closely. Maybe he's just trying to make a video call to his wife, thousands of kilometers away, to introduce her to a foreign friend he met in Shanghai. I'd like to end by saying that you're a very generous person, even willing to buy drinks for your security friends. And then describing something as delicious, with a colloquial pronunciation very much like“ how ” /haʊ/ /dʒ/ = nice food "好吃 hao chi " /haʊ/ /hə/ = nice drink. "好喝 hao he" "/haʊ/" = nice. “好 hao” So when you say hello "你好 ni hao" to a Chinese person, it's like saying you are nice or you are good.

Really like your video because you are very polite in the video and very well prepared before the tour and very clever in dealing with unusual situations (although I don't no what matter with that guy, maybe a tourist from a remote area). Hopefully, your video will getting popular in the future.
The girl taught you "taste good" in chinese as “美味的”,it is not wrong, but this word also sounds almost rhe same as "没味的" in chinese which means "tasteless",that's why the Lamb Laby felt a little confused and depressed when you went back saying that to her. I suggest using "好吃" (pronounce like "How Cheat" ) to avoid such misunderstanding happend again.
In fact, the night street snacks in this video are relatively expensive in China, possibly because of the high rent in central Shanghai. The average night street food in China rarely costs less than 10 yuan. 😂

Greetings from a big city in western China, our side of the world is famous for its spicy food.
Wish Emeka could have fun in each place you visit :D
