Yep. He said that he left and went out with friends because just seeing the plaintiff would cause a huge anxiety attack. He lied. I think he also lied about the knife to the throat because there was no medical report and no police report. Plaintiff may have brandished a knife but I don't think he actually got near the defendant with it.
It's not subsidized in the sense that any government money is going towards his rent. The landlord simply isn't allowed to increase it at a fast rate. I'm more interested in what this guy does to make that much as it can't be a difficult job.
You have to consider the fact that when he got the place, he may not have had the same job and made that kind of money. I think anyone who has an opportunity to get a rent controlled place, especially in New York, would take it.
I had to pay for storage for 3 years when I was in hardship. Now I'm in a big home and have ALL my stuff that I decided to keep. Didn't need to shop for a lot. So I get it

Because in order to move into a NEW PLACE you need SEVERAL THINGS including 1st last and security, which is 2 or 3 months of rent UP FRONT as well as passing a background check which usually includes a credit check and a review of your criminal history, all of which many, not all but many, landlords require BEFORE you can rent a place. It’s A LOT, especially here in NYC, which is where they live and where I live so trust me, I know.
