Back here in 2023 to say I miss Jason’s voice mixed with Dereks so bad, and to remind everyone that this version is better we’re allowed to love both artists 🥺
@@wildbillbfclw The "as we dance around the issue" line is fucking fantastic. There's a lot of songs from many bands I prefer in their original or demo versions. I think bands tend to streamline a bit too much, probably under label pressure I'm sure.
@@wildbillbfclw I've been looking for this version for that line specifically, on and off for over a decade. I forgot they were originally "Kid Named Chicago". Literally stumbled upon this today at random.
@roofkorean6 some of them were in KNC and some were in Defining Moment lol. My sister went to school with Derek when DM won BOTB at Lincoln HS in Tally!
I remember listening to anywhere but here when Mayday Parade drop that album for the first time, and thinking that it just missed something critical and every single song. They just lack the heart that Jason Lancaster puts in with his well crafted lyrics and melodies, you know? Yes, they’ve come along way since then, but there’s a reason why la Lesson in Romantics is their best album, and we know that reason is Jason!
Just saw on tik tok that this was the original! This has been on several phones since limewire I've always thought it was mayday parade demo... My mind is BLOWN
Justin Rubalcava Jason wrote it, but Jake was also in Kid Named Chicago, so he very likely contributed, but Jason is the only credited songwriter on "Jamie All Over" and as stated most early MP songs
For anyone who didn't already know, the singer on the last chorus of the MP version is Daniel Lancaster, Jason's brother. He had two bands that were, in my opinion, better than Mayday. They were Save it For Sunrise and Stages And Stereos. Their sister Erin also sang in the Stages song "Maybe We'll Make It After All".
I CANNOT say the the same. Though I'm a sucker for 2 lead singers. I love jasons voice, i mean he's got a gift... But i think the biggest issue and why go radio never took off like mayday did was his voice can for lack of better words over stimulate the ears and his songs become hard to listen to all in a row. With derek it gives an amazing balance unlike any other i've ever heard. clean and rough.
@lehdu This is a late response, but I saw him sing it in november with Derek Sanders. Artist vs Poet, Every Avenue, Breath Carolina, Go Radio, and Mayday Parade played in Sacramento, and Derek and Jason performed Miserable at Best together....and like hugged e/o and such. It was sick.
This is definitely the better version, it's also the first version I heard. When I listened to the mayday parade version I was disappointed, I mean it's still good but there's something about this one that is better.
Love Jason. This song. honestly, I prefer Jason to Derek, and follow go radio more now than mayday, but I truly believe Mayday with Jason was the greatest thing music could have ever produced. like. seriously. ive never had an album touch me as much as ALIR and I will forever be grateful to everyone who had in part in the creation of that album.
@@cccccccxz mayday parade with derek still is famous, recognized worldwide, jason's band and solo artist project ain't significant after all, poor fan base, poor commercial, poor marketings, no where near mayday parade's success. mayday parade's self titled album is as successful to a lesson in romantics, mostly written by derek
Let's all move on guys. They still hang-out and Mayday Parade doing their stuff and also Jason to Go Radio. Let's enjoy all their music's until it lasts.
This is said with absolutely NO hate, but this is honestly wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than the version you find on Spotify under Mayday Parade. It's just so much better, I can listen to the other version but I just can't feel it on anywhere near the same level as the original recording here.
@thejakezellarproject Wait how did you see him? He left the band in 2007 I saw them play at Warped in the summer but I wasn't sure it was him. Unless he comes back to do the concerts
Sir Jason Lancaster primarily wrote this song from Kid Named Chicago then put some touches while they re-recorded JAO for a Mayday Parade Album. Different taste and sounds as the new concept for MP 😊
i feel like im the only person who thinks Mayday's version is way better. Derek's parts were what attracted me to Mayday, not so much Jason. I also feel like some of the newer material is underrated, to me they can still write good songs without Jason
mayday's version is better just cause Derek sounds better in his verses and it's the version we heard first. But with that being said, jason is the better songwriter which is why the earlier mayday parade stuff will always be better. New Mayday Parade is still pretty good but the potential of the band hasn't been met yet because Jason being gone just gives a huge hole on the band. Also, Jason is a much better singer overall. Derek's voice is really good in the studio and he has that "pop punk voice" but live he's really inconsistent. Jason just destroys in a live setting and you can also see it when he sings in his church band now a days plus Jason's vocal range is insane. His low notes are really strong and his high notes are also so powerful.
Ugh, listened to the current version expecting this one, sooo underwhelmed. lancaster's voice is distinguished. sanders sounds like you could drop him into panic at the disco and fall out boy and it'd be the same. Good vocalist just not destinguished in my opinion

Gonna just leave this here for ya in 2023. ua-cam.com/video/OuHW51e2jNE/v-deo.html
this is just Jason
@@spoopydoopy6798 I’m referring to in general
Loved mayday from the start... Once I found go radio I completely latched onto their music because Jason is mayday for me. #og
2024 feels the same way. We put Jason on our new song 🌸
Who else comes back to this song just to hear Jason sing “drove out to see Las Vegas”
TimidnStuff Fancy seeing you here
I come here to hear the lines they removed starting with "you wore that red shirt I love" dk why they pulled them from the MDP version

I love the "dance around this issue" line, they shouldn't have taken that out
facts
Yes I love that line
man ive been trying to look for this song, this specific version and never realized i liked the group before it became mayday parade. nice!
I'm proud to be one of the 68 viewers.

I looked for this version for a long time thank you!
I love this version a lot same amount as I love MP version, but I do think Derek and Jason have voices that work well together very well.
His voice is just so amazing.
The ORIGINAL. Come back Jason, we need a muse right now
Just saw on tik tok that this was the original! This has been on several phones since limewire I've always thought it was mayday parade demo... My mind is BLOWN
Wish that backing synth was in the final version. Mwybe it's noticable on CD with good headphones
For you guy that don't know Jason wrote most of mayday parade songs. Before he left.
bet you didn't know that jake wrote this...
Justin Rubalcava
No he didn't, Jason did.
jakewashere5 nope Jake wrote it about a girl who would Fuck with him at his concerts
Justin Rubalcava Jason wrote it, but Jake was also in Kid Named Chicago, so he very likely contributed, but Jason is the only credited songwriter on "Jamie All Over" and as stated most early MP songs
Neal Van Deusen Jake definitely wrote one of their all time best songs ever "Three Cheers For Five Years"

They both feature on Forever our Father as well. The tribute to their dad.
This is deep 850 scene folklore. Catch you at the beta bar bro😎
Even if you don't like pop punk, this is a very well done song. Especially this version.
Daniel Lancaster (Jason's brother) sung the last verse of this song.
Yes
dude no way
Jasons in this one, him and Derek in Maydays version, and Derek and Dan Lan. in acoustic version. there you go!
real og are still listening.
i finally know what this version is! its the one on my ipod i got off limewire like years ago. way better than the mayday album version
LIMEWIRE lol. oh the 2000s how I miss them!
hahah exactly the same!
SAME
+aerxo17 I miss limewire

I LOVE Jason's voice.

It was epic
I seriously love these lyrics better than the newer version.

but derek becomes the face of Mayday Parade, somehow his charisma and appeals puts them on the map

I like the pause after the that in the chorus unlike the mp one holds it to the next word
Jason needed to be away because his father died. Look up a song called Forever my Father.
The only version of this song I recognize 🤌🏽
Same! The old vocalist's voice was so unique and soulful!
I like the last line in the Info. for this song.
Love the MP's version but this hits harder
@oliviaK0 Jason actually left after they finished recording A Lesson in Romantics, which Jamie All Over is on.
Jason Lancaster's voice....I find myself missing it in Mayday Parade's newer songs. Makes me sad.
This is nicer than the MP Version. Has more soul to it, I guess?
Sounds great!
drove out to see Las Veeeyyygas

Mitch producing the goods over here
tbh, i love this version than the revised version by MP. it has more soul into it.
December 2019 😂
Is this the demo version of Jamie All Over? Before Mayday Parade?? This is awesome though.
No this is the original version! We should've asked Jason why he let Mayday Parade have it when he recorded lines for our new song 🌸
This is better
still
Still. 🌸
@KMitch1094 Ah, well yh I guess Jason isn't on that one. But they did still record it with him, just maybe not recently!
This is the version on my ipod. I like it better because Jason is a more dynamic singer. Just all around better singer IMO.
@andtheydanced Jason wrote the song
Niice!
Wasnt This Song Called "Cali All Over" tho
Maybe that has to do something with the song's puns.
Yeah i think i like this version better

@DaBananaHammock what?
I like Jason's version more but I like Derek's voice in general...
@oliviaK0 im pretty they would have had to ask for the rights to the song, or else there would be some legal shit going on
So who sang with Jason since it's not Derek? Was it Jake?
Jake probably
I like this, but I do like the Mayday Parade version better.
Can someone tell me which one of them actually wrote this song? I really really want to know and can't seem to find it anywhere.

What year was this?
TokenChineseGuy's Rare Music! 2004
It isn't the Mayday Parade album version. The lyrics are different and Derek isn't anywhere in this song.
That's because this was the original
Really? Sounds like there's someone else too.
Pretty sure this is Mayday Parade, but a demo version.... sounds like the merger had already happened

Dan Lancaster isn't in this. His voice is higher, than Jason's, and you can tell, it's not in this

No way derek will sounds like brendon and patrick lol
Not a bad cover, pretty decent, good work!
This is actually the original. This band formed with Defining Moment to make Mayday Parade.
may day parade is better version yes it good but the lyric are kind of weird
You know.... Derek sings this so much better and it isn't the same without brooks bette I understand go radio has Jason, who cares,
Derek is subpar compared to Jason.
derek sanders is way better than jason lanfucker
