I love it, since it follows the design language of the Work Collection (Aer Tech Pack 2, Day Pack, etc). Plus the main compartment now opens full clamshell. Huge improvement over the Aer Tech Pack 2. As for the branding, I prefer the old one, but this one is fine.

Branding is still subtle so I’m indifferent about it. The looks of the bag are growing on me (coming from a belroy work pack user). I love the organization (4 zipper compartments is awesome)

    • @TheUglyPrimadonna

Yeah, the organization here, especially on the bigger pack, seems just right for my needs. I’m loving the expanded and subdivided quick access pocket up top to store more than just a pair of sunglasses or a wallet at a time as with the city pack pro. Seems like a pretty good place to store a wallet, passport, and maybe even my iPad mini in relative safety, but still with quick access when needed. I’m also really happy about the two external water bottle holders, having just one on either side makes it kind of unbalanced, and none at all is a disqualifier for me.

Really like how they refined the look with a narrower base and wider top, no more the "boxy" feeling that the CPP can have. Not a big fan of the branding position but totally understand from a marketing POV why such a decision. Good job with the video Aaron !

@@Nomads.Nation I for one find the absence of the side pocket to be a plus. The CPPs side pocket (and similar ones on packs like the boundary supply errand) I was looked a bit janky and unbalanced to me, especially given the water bottle holder on the other side. They make up for the missing side pocket in my opinion with the expanded quick access pockets on the front and in the middle. To me, that’s so much more clean and better looking solution. Big fan of this series, totes gonna order one! Thanks again for the video Aaron!

Really interesting new collection from Aer. If I’m being honest, I don’t love the look of the external design as much as the Aer classics (tech/day/slim packs). Maybe it’s the look of the fabrics but I hope Aer is able to still have this new lineup while maintaining what they do best in their other lines. I do love the extra organization of the shallow middle pocket though, I usually use those as a catch-all for pens/pencils and tons of other random stuff and those slots are nice. The sling is a no for me but I’m sure there are others who would love it. Thanks for the vid!
Also, I agree that the naming is confusing and I agree that the new branding just feels unlike Aer.

I like the small backpack, and i agree that it should have a better zipper to keep water away from our laptops. Also, i actually love the new branding. It’s simple and it’s not too “in your face” kind of branding like the Tomtoc ones. Lmao! 😂 i like the branding because if I am using my Aer bag, i want people to know it’s Aer, i’m proud of it. hola Aaron. NIce review on the new line! Yep, agree, Pro seems like a misnomer to me, if perhaps one associates "Pro" with "the absolute best stuff we have selected for our packs' performance" - if not aesthetics. Which is not to say I have investigated their recycled cordura performance vs say, Xpac, however, as you point out - zippers less water resistant, for example. Also, for me (unless i'm just blind and missed it) - *no quick access pocket?*
[Quick Access Pocket Rave = On.] In my older bags I never had one, but now that I've got the quick access on my current bag, I use it probably 90% of the time vs the rest of the bag. (One might ask "if that's true, why aren't those EDC items in your actual pockets, vs your bag?" I gots reasons. : ) The challenge w quick access pocket of course is, how big to make it, and which bag compartments you have to compete with, once you stuff things in quick access. Personally my fave quick access pocket to date is in the Boundary Supply Errant Sling - that pocket is like 6-7" vertical, woo. Most bags I've seen with them, including my current bag, only have maybe 4" quick access. But seriously, if you are constantly taking things in and out of your bag, but *almost always the same couple of small items*, it's great. You don't have to dig around for them.

Pro in name only. Lacks more weather-resistant zippers, and lacks something new compared to their other bags. Like I would've loved to see a builtin rainfly, or a bicycle light loop. Beyond their x-pac lineup, it's hard to imagine anything else "pro" that's also Aer-minimalistic.
This lineup to me is quite expensive for what it is. Had they emphasized more of the sustainability of the bag to justify the price, then that would vibe better (like Urth or Sympl).

I've recently got a mirrorless camera. It can fit snug in my City Sling 2 but it's a tight zip so I want to upgrade. I was going to get the Day Sling 3 but now the Aer Pro Sling is making me second guess myself. I like the Day Sling 3 because it seems more durable and has XPac waterproofing but the Pro seems good too. Which do you prefer between those 2 and why? Thanks

Don’t like the name. I agree “pro” is the wrong moniker, especially given the price. To me pro conveys more features and higher price point. The new branding is fine by me, but I’m confused in what problem it solves. Keeping it the same color makes it hard to read, so not sure they accomplished raising visibility of the brand. The white on black tag relocated to a new spot would have been my recommendation.
