24:03 I REALLY enjoyed this video. I can tell how passionate you are about post production, and quite frankly, your passion makes me want to be as good as you. Thank you!
Wow, this is cool ... so many amazing unique features. Is it a free or paid version? It looks not user-friendly, a little complicating? I watched without skipping but felt your demo was a little fast at certain points and it’s hard to catch up, wondering where exactly you're clicking,. Can't blame you otherwise your video will be very long. You should do a little slower than upload as part 1 and part 2. Just to check if you can make a video about "How to create a Happy Birthday Video with these great features .... please, please :)"
I never comment on anything, especially UA-cam, but I felt compelled to say Thank You for yet another top-notch Resolve tutorial. There are so many useful techniques here, and your project concept pulls them all together very smoothly. Enthusiasm is just right. It's just some really nice work you're putting out here.
I'm loving the UA-cam algorithm this weekend man as it keeps firing your content at me - I'm just sorry for all the random comments 🙄🤣. Loved this, and can I just add, you're really cool teacher man (hoping "teacher" is the right word). I look at the intro of your tutorials and think, "Nah - I won't be able to do that!" By the end of the video? I'M DOING IT 🤣🤟. Thank you for the time, effort and continued grind sir 🙏🏻
I have just recently gotten into video editing (about 2 weeks ago), ive watched a lot of tutorials on DaVinci Resolve in those two weeks. Out of all the videos ive watched (barring the super noob ones) yours have been the most impactful. I feel so much inspiration after watching, ideas just start flowing. I cant fully grasp everything you cover but after i hop in DaVinci and mess around with the stuff you show i get a better understanding. That bit where you made all the black space disappear from the pink explosion and it blended right into the gummy footage blew my mind, i have no idea what that option was or how it worked but it was simple and amazing. Keep up the amazing work.
This is amazing, thank you! Just curious, how are you moving the picture after zooming in? I can zoom in but, moving the picture for further refinement is not working for me (click and drag - sorry for the noob question).
If I understand the question right, I used the "Dynamic Zoom" feature in the "inspector" to make the video clips look like the camera was zooming the whole time. I hope that helps 👊✌
@@TheModernFilmmaker Nice! What about when you zoom in ua-cam.com/video/EZtWaVe2IYc/v-deo.html then drag the image up so you could see the image better for the power window? How did you drag the image, I can't seem to click and drag like you did but wonder if there is a shortcut perhaps.
If you mean moving the image while you're editing it, so that you can see different parts of a zoomed-in frame, try holding down your mouse wheel while you're zoomed in.
I love when the stuff get NASTY! :) Your skill and passion for videomaking is really inspiring. I'm just getting into youtube and trying to make an animated logo for my channel, your tutorials are great!
Thanks for creating this video for us. I really enjoyed watching it. You are a truly gifted teacher (not to mention a great artist). If you don't mind a beginner question, Davinci has a Magic Mask feature in version 18. What are your thoughts on using it compared to the polygon mask selection which you used? Do you think one is more effective than the other? Thank you.
@@TheModernFilmmaker super humble of you. But seriously I appreciate you. A lot of UA-cam is just brain candy to kill time, which is totally cool but you and Casey Faris have helped me develop a skill that I didn't have a year ago and it has paid off at work. It's like getting an education from Full Sail for free. And I meant what I said, you always do the cool stuff. Super rad that you replied, thanks so much!

Great info...💪🏿
As someone new to editing how to export a transparent background image?
Im stuck🤯
Any help?
You would need to use a file type like DNxHR or Prores and make sure to click "Alpha Channel" or "Export Alpha" something like that

Instead of enabling dynamic zoom on all clips, couldn't you just throw an adjustment clip on top?
That is actually a great idea! 👏👏👏
What a great video in every aspect, I love it! You definitely inspire me to become better at davinci resolve :D Thank you!

So if all I have is a 5dmk2. What would be the best approach in color grading to get the most out of my footage?
