  • When you have the time, and you enjoy fresh air in your lungs, a walk to the top of Arthur's Seat is a must-do. It takes around 2 hours round trip, and the views of Edinburgh, Holyrood Park and the Firth of Forth make the climb worth while.

Hi and thanks for your comment. My travel and metal detecting interests don't really cross over, and so I rarely mention the other channels that I have. However, it doesn't stop nice people approaching me while shooting travel videos and asking "hey, are you the guy that does those UA-cam videos?" They always refer to Rusty Nails and are surprised I have a second (travel) channel.

I was 17 in 1979 when I climbed #arthursseat, sounds like you feel how I did after!

It shouldn't really be a tough climb, but I always seem to struggle. The view makes it worthwhile though.

Halfway up Arthur's seat and the rain came. I could hardly see in front of me, let alone the fact I was soaked to the skin in 2 minutes. I walked down, without reaching the top. Maybe next time I'm in Edinburgh, but it'll have to be soon, I'm not getting any younger!
