Michal Towber Vocal Coaching she was and will reamain the best and greatest singer of all time no one can reach her uniqe vocalist skill and that control in her voice
I absolutely love these videos. Love your channel from Israel. Ofra was amazing singer, a gift to a nation and a generation. Love that song "Adama", especially when you consider the meaning of the holy land as the earth we've came back to after tousand of years.
So the choreography was something about the mixing of the East and the west. The dancers are Israeli from different backgrounds. Some are from Ashkenazi origin (Eastern European heritage), some are Sephardi (Mediterranean, North African, and Middle Eastern heritage) and some are probably a mix of the two. Israel is pretty much a places where you see a lot of Sephardi Jews as well as Ashkenazi Jews but Sephardi Jews make up more of a majority. The wailing that she does in her song is called a Mawwal, which is a very prominent feature of Middle Eastern music. A Mawwal can come many times at the beginning of a song as well in between repeated several times and at times also at the end. Mawwals tend to evoke and describe feeling and emotions that words cannot or are limited in expressing. The scale in Middle Eastern songs is different and the voice always tends to accompany it so that is why it sounds very ornamented. Yemenite Jews are really great at singing and several of the most popular and talented singers in Israel come from the Yemenite Jewish community such as Shoshanna Damari, Zohar Argov, Gali Atari, Eyal Golan, Chaim Moshe, the A-Wa group, Zion Golan, Ahuva OzeriMargalit Tzanani, Izhar Cohen, etc. Ofra Haza unfortunately left us at the young age of 42 from complications of a not-well balanced treatment for AIDS that she got from the guy she married and was found out about when she was trying to get pregnant and she was getting the tests before initiating fertility treatments. Divas sometime encounter tragic deaths as if they had been cursed by their talent and success. Makes me think of Whitney Houston, as she was also a rags to riches story of a singer who rose and rose until she met her demise from drug addiction and it’s consequences. Parallels have been drawn between their two careers.
Hi Michal. I am emotionally invested in your channel, there is no other. Wonderfully intuitive singing teacher and charismatic person. Ide like to strike up a dialogue and ask you many questions about singing via the comments.
Miki, poetry in song is challenging. To my surprise, having heard you read the lyrics, I felt as if I understood the words as she sang! Later it was pleasant to listen with the lyrics in front of me, in Hebrew and English, side by side (online at www.hebrewsongs.com/song-adama.htm ). Ofra Haza's poetry reminded me of someone I hope you know, Mary Oliver, who wrote: "Oh, mother earth, your comfort is great, your arms never withhold. It has saved my life to know this. Your rivers flowing, your roses opening in the morning. Oh, motions of tenderness!" (from: "Loneliness", mollystrongheart.blogspot.com/2019/05/mary-oliver-loneliness.html?m=1 ) Thanks!
Hi, very nice reaction 😊 Could you react to "Move The World" performed by Viki at Opening Ceremony of JESC? Vocal skills of this 13yo girl are incredible. There were also used some special visual effects. Definitely worth checking out :) Greetings from Poland 😊

Kol HaNeshama is her best album. Adama is up there. It was the first time she sang songs of the best contemporary writers of the time.
Kol Haneshama is amazing. My favorite is Kirya
