- In this brand-new episode of the Korda podcast is David Moore.
Dave Moore is a highly respected Yorkshire-based carp angler, who has an uncanny knack for catching some of the biggest and most prized carp around. One of Dave's career highlights was capturing the Caravan Park's Linear not just once but on three separate occasions.
He was introduced to fishing at an early age by his father while on holiday in Norfolk. As a teenager, he recalls meeting the top match angler of the time, Ivan Marks, who demonstrated the intricate skills of match fishing.
Dave moved to carp fishing in the late seventies and has since earned a reputation as one of the most accomplished and knowledgeable people in his field. He has been successful on familiar UK venues such as Longfield, Wraysbury, and has landed carp to 94 pounds from Euro Aqua in Hungry.
Dave has a renowned reputation for his extensive bait knowledge. He was the man responsible for creating Nutrabait's, Big Fish Mix, and forming Rollin Baits.
During the Podcast, Dave delved into depths about his fascinating angling life. He shared information and knowledge not commonly talked about in carp fishing, while he also relived many fascinating carp fishing tails along the way!

Dave Moore. The right sort of carp angler. Great interview!
(And I remember the old b/w film “Sink the Bismarck”…… sure I watched it 3 times!).. Loved Dave’s message on that thought process. And his bait knowledge deserves to be listened too…….
Great podcast, one of the best I've heard, and certainly one of the best British carp anglers
Wow ... amazing stuff, what a guy ... legend is the right word for him!! Respect
Fresh bait will always be the best, in any kind of fishing you do.
Dave Moore...legend!
Definitely need a part 2 mega character great story teller 👊👊👊👊🐳🇬🇧🎣
I knew this would be a great podcast, Dave Moore is so knowledgeable.
Absolute legend! Looking forward to listening to this.
Brilliant as expected. If you get him back on, please can you try and get him to talk about his trips to wraysbury in the early 90’s. He was there and doing it really early on and they bagged a few too.
Great podcast. Definitely one my favourite episode's. David Moore is one of the most knowledgeable anglers around. I've got total respect for the man. And a Northerner like me.
Without doubt 1 of the best podcasts from a gentleman who we sadly no longer make.
Close your eyes and listen to the sound of Frank Warwick.....
And the gift at the end shows how sadly missed this type of angler/ man we need to instill into the future angler . Big up korda another gem on my ears ... stay safe and stay happy
One of the best in the series.
Really enjoyed your stories- thanks Dave
Brilliant listen. Top guest
Really interesting and entertaining podcast. Dave comes across as a top bloke
I really like the in depth bait part.It would be great to see Mark Holmes on the show...
Very enjoyable , thanks very much
Great podcast amazing numbers of massive fish
Another great podcast. Thanks
I see so many people making this mistake with scales! I have been trying to tell them since the 1990's. Thanks Dave, I am sure they will listen to you more than me LOL
The man knows his bait 👌🏻
In relative terms it's almost laughable that he's caught the same fish 3 times. In most countries wild fishing is the norm, it's a real shame the UK is now at a stage where wild fishing opportunities are next to none. It's like shooting fish in a barrel compared to wild fishing.
The only real wild fishing is on small sections of river and the sea the latter is my fix
Even the du der common has been caught many times, the difference is we arent in the european loops.
Its target fishing which we generally do as carp anglers, and it can be frustrating listening to the stories of the pioneers and get lost in the idea of what they say about it; knowing theres little of it left, but the point remains its generally someone else catching a fish which spurs another to want to have it.
Its the reality of catch and release angling, we set them back so another might be so lucky.
another great podcast 👏🏻
His intelligence is obvious, very enjoyable and thought provoking.
Great watch thank you, early on you say the caravan lake is not what it was so what happened please?
Got ottered as have most of the lakes in the area that aren't fenced
Seems like a thoroughly nice chap. And he’s bang on about the bait: Too many shelfies kills them ☹️ Did find myself saying ‘Ee-oh’ to myself for hours afterwards though!
Brilliant podcast, straight talking and simple. Keep finding myself using his “northernisms” now though 😂😂
Great story teller though 10/10 👍🏻
Will you be doing a podcast with Ben Battenberg?
at last a proper carp angler
That was a good un great man mr moore
the syndicate lake im on have banned shelf life boilies only freezer baits and they check them in water see if they are really freezer baits been like it for ages
Can someone tell me what bait David’s using and where do I get it from
Rollin baits,find it online
@@darrylclarkson4208 hiya Darryl thank u for the quick reply, does David have specials or are they a commercial available if so which doe he use
@@steveskelton9437 Dave uses a bait made by Rollinbaits called the optimum 👍🏼
@@steveskelton9437 Yes as James says I believe he uses the optimum but its expensive 14 quid ish a kilo, they do 2 more boilies I think which are cheaper but are very high quality.
My local has banned shelf life baits, frozen only
Is the linear dead? Ozzie holness mentioned it on the nash cast
Did dave live in stamford anyone know and was he a fireman?
Sooo is David Moore to do with cc Moore and does he use cc Moore
No mate. He Makes and develops bait for a company called Rollinbaits
Fantastic listen but no real history regarding his uk fishing on such lakes as Longfield and wraysbury or his bait development with nutrabaits I.e big fish mix.
Those EuroAqua fish are horrible looking things.
I honestly would not fish for them if it was free to go.
#Rotters
Keeps people off the lakes with the black scaleys though 😜
@@robertbaker7223 Very true. I just can not understand why some anglers dont see it. Those massive over grown table fish are as ugly as hell. Im completely unimpressed with the size/weight if they look like pale pigs with fins.
Each to their own i supose.
@@davestone2939 hahaha I've put back a few ugly ones without even getting them out the water before but we are the in the maybe as low as 2% of anglers that see it that way 98% just want a massive one to make them smile that's fine by me
Wake up Tobes xx
Nothing like a Northerner talking about fishing to send you off to sleep! Lol
