One of the Nintendo Switch games of all time
I really wish this Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star had a physical release on Nintendo Switch.... I want it but $49.99 for an eshop game is a bit much..
It does have from playasia but it's japanese only. Don't know if you would be interested in that
I’m pretty sure that price is also because of the FoTNS license.

@@-TheRealAnimeFan- usually only Chinese region releases from Playasia has English. Jpn releases don't unfortunately

If you're hesitant abt this, try the demo. Its my favorite fitness game.
It's so ridiculous in the best way. The dubs are cheesy, songs are total bangers and it's a great workout. Having issues with joycon reading my left hook but whatever; it's gotten me off my butt and I'm already losing lbs lol
Do they have the original songs with lyrics or just remade covers?

They should do fighting mania for the switch (the old fotns arcade game). That was the best!
I wish there were also martial arts exercises as well. I think for what its worth it shouldnt be 49.99.. as a original price.

I was keeping an eye on this game since it was announced and after playing the demo extensively when it dropped; I decided to buy this game on the Eshop; day 1. Yeah; it's a Fitness Boxing game with FOTS skin over it; but it works so well and get me more amped to play it regularly. The music is awesome enough and gets me going. I been playing for 2 weeks straight and I feel that it is more well calibrated than previous Fitness Boxing games and the battle modes are fun little distractions. It also has more fleshed out options than previous entries. It made me think they should make a traditional turn based RPG (maybe Final Fantasy) with these Fitness Boxing style gameplay during battles. That way I can grind my characters as well as myself while playing a 40 hour plus RPG.
Ring Fit does that idea but it has no boxing.
Does it include Japanese audio? I'm planning to buy it but the demo didn't have it
@@Romeohardcash You can change the voices to Japanese; but the soundtracks that are from the anime; do not have vocal; but are really good rock versions of those songs (same in the Japanese version of this game as well).

I work from home , very sedentary life, was weightin 110 kg , 1,70 m. high. REALLY fat. I have lost 10 Kg in about 4 weeks with this game, BUT using it every day and a little diet, consisting only in less food rations every meal. So i can say, maybe for people who workout normally, it could be a waste of time, but for sedentary lazy guys like me? Works great! The difficulty curve is nice, 30-40 mins a day is enough, and im feeling great. For people who normally dont work out and dont want a gym to lose weight, i reccomend to give it a try. On the other side, it becomes really repetitive once u use it on daily basis. Not too many songs. But watching the results? The best 50 € i spent in a long time. (Last recommendation, dont frustrate if joycon is not too sharp with the hits results and dont recognize your punches sometimes, fails a lot, but the point is to move and have fun)

@@franciscor390 thanks SO MUCH. The point is that it wasnt so hard. It was just moving a little, and your body responses kindly. I encourage everyone to try, please. Nintendo doesn´t pay me but u will be surprised with the results in days.

It's expensive as hell, luckily Fist of the North Star is among the coolest manga/anime ever created.

This was a nice upgrade from the original fitness boxing game. The fist of the North Star tracks are way cooler than the pop music remixes, and the trainers are more engaging just by virtue of being ridiculously buff anime characters lol. Also quality of life updates
I was disppointed that there was no Japanese voices. Yeah, maybe it is only me wanting original Japanese voices for anime-related content. But, come on! Even Fitness Boxing 2 and its cheesiness had Japanese voices, and Hokuto no Ken didn't? WTF?
No "Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru" is the worst thing you can do to anything related to Kenshiro.
I tried the demo and left dissapointed. The game it's really a reskin. But what I expected?
Well, considering the game has combat, I though that you could select moves and then execute them, or something, like Ring Fit Adventures does. But no, is not like that. You don't even deal damage if you fail the "combo", which was a problem in my case because the left joycon didn't detect the hit everytime (interesting that I'm not the only one with that issue). The moves aren't even registered correctly: I mean, you can do a jab and it be valid for hooks too. If you are playing this game, you are going to play legit, but come on.
Damn, an arcade fighting game with this art style, but played like "The Con" or "Def Jam" would go hardddd
I remember playing the original and getting a pretty decent sweat on, saying that it would be better skinned with Fist of The North Star. I actually lost 18lbs in a mth with the original.
I have done a few weeks of Fitness Boxing 2 and the workout intensity level even on beginner is tooough - right now I'm doing Dance Central for my cardio but when I'm done I'll switch to this because sometimes it's fun to beat up beefy friends
Turn off the music and listen to a podcast while you box, great experience
I just tried the demo and battle mode. Fitness boxing 2 is more fun and taxing. Or depends on how far you've come I guess. I can't justify buying this when I already own Fitness Boxing 2. But if this was out when I bought that I probably would have gone for North Star. Battle mode is a nice bonus but gets boring fast.
I can't blame you for not picking this one up, when you have Fitness Boxing 2 already.
Yep thats what PersonalTrainerPete said in his video review as well. If you have BF#2 FOTNS is just a replica but an anime re-skin.
I honestly was waiting for a follow-up to my *personal* GOTY for the year 2018, being *Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise.*
So while I'm happy to see more Fist of the North Star representation in 2023, this ain't it chief.

I would've bought it if there was a story mode. That would've given me motivation to play the game more (thus exercise more). As someone who already owns Fitness Boxing 2, this just feels like a cheap romhack more than it's own title.
I think if fitness games had a story or campaign mode with an engaging story, that would motivate me to play the game.
At the moment, all the fitness games I've played have failed to achieve that.
What really bugs me is that the trainer movements doesn't translate well to Kenshiro's body. Clips and looks off. 😞
With a body like that it's always going to clip and always does in pretty much every game based on the franchise.

The whole not reading your interpretation of actions is hilarious to me. There’s literally a right and wrong way to do the actions and timing is everything. Not only does pushing out at the right time matter but snapping back at the right time matters too. Applying proper form has earned me perfects in most combo circuits and for the others I’m usually tired or learning a new combo. This game is great. The original fitness boxing 2 is awesome and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to shed some fat and tone up. I also have a shoulder injury and my shoulder has gotten stronger since taking up this boxing game.

Oh no! This is going to be just like when I got hyped up after playing fitness boxing and picked a fight with my moms boyfriend. The combat does not translate to real life skill

Backward compatibility with the Wii Balance would be great for the foot stance rocking. Hope next gen and forward bring back all accessories from all previous gen. What's the point of games backward compatibility and Nintendo Online Service Virtual Consoles if the accessories isn't.
You have to pull back fast with your hands to register all the jabs, straights, hooks, weaving, ducking, step backs etc

Anyway to cheat for a disabled FOTNS fan? Im a huge fan 30+yrs with sensorimotor polyneuropathy (complete nerve damage of body).
In the settings, "Action Assist" allows you to disable each type of movement (Ducking, Weaving, Body Punches, Steps, and Sway Backs). They will then default to "Perfect."
I would not recommend getting the game if you cannot get at least some kind of movement out of it. There is also no option for Japanese voice overs in the Western release. I usually set Mamiya to Italian or French because her English voice is too raspy.

This game is so odd. Why fist of the North Star, that series hasn’t been relevant for a while. Especially with the younger fanbase of the switch. I feel like my hero or jujutsu Kaisen or one piece woulda turned more eyes.
Hajime no Ippo would make the most sense for this type of game.
