Thanks for uploading this. I had tickets to see them in Austin, TX in April of 2019, but had injured by back a few weeks earlier and knew there was no way I could stand for an hour straight so I had to miss the show. I think I was more bummed it would have been my first concert with my (then) 14yr old daughter. Ooh well, we got to see Twenty One Pilots together 3 times in 3 cities since. That was a blast.

World-class musicians of Tosin's caliber don't get thrown offbeat by "rhythmically challenged' audiences. lol And on top of that, they REALLY don't get thrown offbeat when a drummer like Gartska holding it down behind them. With a band like AAL, which plays super complex multi-metered tunes with modulations inside modulations, the vast majority of people that think they heard a mistake don't realize it's not a mistake at all. It usually happens with parts of tracks that are in crazy odd time signatures, or even 4/4, and 16th or 32nd notes are played and/or displaced. To the untrained ear, it can sound like a mistake but isn't.
Haha, I don't think the audience actually did too terribly at this show. Assuming you're talking about that part in CAFO, if you listen closely that's actually what Garstka's playing on the kick, so Tosin would be used to playing over that pattern
I had a musical awakening way back in the early 70's when I first heard Mahavishnu Orchestra. Then Larry Coryell. Then last year Animals as Leaders. Love it, thank you for the music. They are excellent, but does the drummer remind you of Tony Williams?

And Elliot is not even human at this point he rarely messes up, he just a clock really.
All the gear on planet earth in one building, bit if you want to watch any of the bands it's going to be filmed on a mobile phone mediocre audio quality. Gotta love this world of endless intellectual property rights management. I'm glad some lawyers were there to make sure no officially-produced recordings actually get out. Also, AAL are gods.

Nah it's true. I'm 28 and I have made an absolute point to not have my phone out at concerts and stuff. Because I have done it before, and I've gone back and watched that footage exactly zero times. But I always remember the feeling from the event itself, so I am prioritizing that instead of taking a video I won't probably ever watch again.
The one thing I can appreciate though about phones in the crowd is when something like covid happens and you have the itch to watch your favorite bands play you can at least find videos on youtube.

I love AAL, but for both the guitarists, Cognitive Contortions needs work. On all the recordings I've seen of them playing, their playing kinda falls apart.
