I'm just starting with DJ'ing - A little too old perhaps but I got to find a hobby - I always wanted to play music in small venues and did it way back in the 80's/90's - Didn't have the technology on hand like today but managed to get by - Now, retired - just want to play music for fun and at friends and family events - I'm a little rusty to being - This is what I have so far purchased and hoping you can help me along with the setup and requirements need to setup my Dj system - Hardware - Laptop / ThinkPad T440 or and MACBOOK late model - can upgrade later when I get the hang of this DJ'ing DJ Controllers - Hercules DJ Console/Controller MK4 2 Channels Microphones Speakers - Mission Stereo Speakers with wires no power speakers - Will get a proper speakers later on if the non-powered speaker with wires don't cut it - Don't have an amp - don't know if I need one to connect my speakers to my controllers Like I said I'm completely a green starter - Looking for some advise, setup , support - much appreciate for your input and honest opinion PLEASE!! Not sure which program the controller uses, maybe virtual DJ software, I would recommend a small PA mixer to connect your controller to it and an amp to power your speakers Start up* Controller to mixer, mixer to amp, amp to speakers

Congrats on your purchase Having a subwoofer helps. It all depends on which tops and which subs Some tops are not to loud enough to keep up with subs and vise bersa
Hi, great vid I just have a question what’s the point of a separate pa mixer? I see mixers have mic inputs as well as xlr. I see some djs haul these huge vcr looking mixers with a bunch of knobs? Why can’t they just plug straight from mixer to system??
Great question Most controllers don’t have great mic sound output and typically the sound out of the controllers comes out too hot. With a speaker pa mixer you can control your mic and music volume to sound nicer

Do you actually need to set the speakers at 7 to 9 feet in height , knowing that there is no audience way in the back and all guess are just withing 10 to 15 feets of the music . Can I lower the height so I don't have to increase so much amp power on the speakers or what is the

@@DjJoeyPinaDJ we playvat a gig last time but they had a jumper, another dj system and bunch of lights because there was a boxing event and our equipment didn't had that much volume at all and our monitors were very low volumes
My best recommendation is to get a small PA mixer. And connect your controller from RCA’s to quarter in to the pa mixer Another option which is not the best but for now would be to get RCA to XLR cables

Trying to get started doing weddings and looking for an entry level system. Something to get me by under $300. Is it worth it to invest in a low end system for small-medium sized weddings or just rent equipment in your opinion? I already have the other equipment needed! Thanks!
Weddings are a big day for brides, grooms and family and their friends If you get a low end system it may or may not let you down at an event or it may not sound good or last long Clients will notice the quality of the sound of its low end they may not refer you future clients to make your business grow My advice is rent a better system and do a great job at your wedding gigs till you can buy a decent system. Yes I set them up @0 db sometimes at +3 DB but I control and monitor the limit and always use an extra PA mixer

Yes you can lower the height
Speakers are ok around 7ft height.

18” subs pair up well with 15” tops
For a mixer start with a 6 -10-12 channel mixer depending how many things you need to connect

My best recommendation is to get a small PA mixer. And connect your controller from RCA’s to quarter in to the pa mixer
Another option which is not the best but for now would be to get RCA to XLR cables
You can go from your controller left and right to each speaker then daisy chain from left, left and right, right.
RCA to XLR cables are sold.

There’s a few different ways. One option is connect one sub then the next then one too then another top. Do the same on the other side
