You know what? I was about to say it sounded like Zeeuws, but then I remembered I'm from Zeeuws-vlaanderen where the dialect is strongly mixed with either west- or east-flemish depending on your hometown/village, so I don't know all that much about "regular" Zeeuws and realised you're probably right. But still with a touch of Zeeland
Don't know about that to be honest. The whole afrikaans language is basically dutch wich is heavily influenced by british english. Flamish is basically dutch with french influences

Casper! You've removed your other videos where you compare Dutch and Afrikaans and I'm living here in The Netherlands now and I regularly need access to those videos to play them for Hollanders - who can't believe their ears.

Afrikaners are the dutch Aussies. Brits and dutch send their boeren (peasants) to here to work so yeah that explains why the afrikaner and Aussie peasants would feel what how the dutch and Brits sound like.
I mean, how would your language hold up after moving to the ass-end of africa for some 200 years, fighting the british twice and having no contact to the country you originally came from? I think it still holds up fairly well XD
Scheer je weg is like proper "old" "Hollands/Dutch. Nowadays it's just "flikker op" 😂 but(!) the word flikker is also a Dutch curseword for f*ggot. Oh, how I love my Dutch language 😂👍🏻🇳🇱
We call it Nederland or Holland just depends really, nowadays Holland is only part of Netherlands you are correct. But in the old days it was the name given to the entire country. The older generation of Afrikaaners will usually tend to call in Holland. Younger generation Afrikaaners usually call it Nederland but we use it interchangeably.
It's a global problem that is partly to blame on the Dutch themselves. However, it's actually incorrect and comparable to calling the UK "England". Of course the full name of the UK is "the United Kingdom of Great Britain (and Northern Ireland)", so that is a bit of mouthful. In colloquial speech it's shouldn't be a problem, though.
in "west vlaanderen" (west - flanders part of belgium) they speak almost exactly the same i swear.
Mooi!

In modern Dutch ''scheer je weg' is now 'tyf op!'
Okie zoomie
'Poesje' is in dutch also the same meaning but it is a more polite version than 'kut' (which is the same as the C-word in english).
En nu opsodemieteren! (skeer je weg ;) )
But the meaning is more simular to whimp
@@ToolkiT73UK Oprotten!!! ;)
Dis poes snaaks
@@-gemberkoekje-5547 calling someone a whimp as a more polite way of calling them a pussy

Yes! I'm a Hollander hearing this for the first time and I loved it. Such joyful differences :)
In the netherlands for Fuck off we say: "Rot op" meaning, rot away. The more you roll your R, the angrier you are.

Afrikaans klinkt een beetje Vlaams in mijn oren. Freddy de Vadder is veel moeilijker te begrijpen. Haha. Casper de Vries is grappig hier.
We don't say "scheer je weg'....................that was WW2 time.
