  • If we are going to keep the main thing the main thing in our lives then we need to apply what Jesus said in Matthew 6:33. It has special instructions that should affect every area of our lives. We will examine the meaning and application of, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.”

The grammar bothered me a wee bit until I looked the poem up (which is beautiful) and the repeating refrain makes more sense "Only one life, "twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last". Written by a British missionary, C.T. Studd (1860-1931)

Your 40+ hours preperation for your sermons and videos show, Mike! I really appreciate it. I started watching your videos more than 1 and a 1/2 years ago, as a doubtful person on his way to becoming a Christian. I'm a believer at this point and I still love your work, sometimes revisiting your older videos, it's really good!

Everything you need to know about salvation is written..but everything being told by our preachers are lies.. prioritizing don't get you rewards on earth..all Christ's promises are in the next life.. all of it.. scripture says EVERYTHING GOD HAD LEFT TO SAY TO US WAS DONE THROUGH CHRIST, it means God said all he had left to say.. and is not speaking to anyone, he's not granting houses and cats wives and jobs..christ said he brings his rewards ACCORDING TO OUR DEEDS, GATHER NOT FOR YOURSELVES TREASURE ON EARTH WHERE MOTH AND RUST DOTH DESTROY AND THIEVES STEAL IT AWAY BUT INSTEAD GATHER FOR YOURSELVES TREASURE IN HEAVEN..MATHEW 6:33 MEANS THE SAME THING.. FOCUS ON HEAVEN FOCUS ON GOD AND YOUR REWARDS WILL BE IN HEAVEN.. A MAN ASKED CHRIST WHAT GOOD DEED SHALL I PERFORM TO OBTAIN ETERNAL LIFE. CHRIST REPLIED.. WHY DO YOU SPEAK OF A GOOD DEED THERE IS ONLY 1 WHO IS GOOD IN HEAVEN BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS. THE MAN ASKED WHICH ONES. CHRIST SAID DONT KILL, DONT LIE, DONT STEAL, HONOR THY PARENTS, LOVE ONE ANOTHER. THE MAN REPLIED BUT I OBEY THOSE ALREADY. CHRIST SAID IF YOU WISH TO BE PERFECT SELL YOUR STUFF GIVE IT TO THE POOR AND COME FOLLOW ME AND YOULL HAVE TREASURE (IN HEAVEN) look at the rich man parables..or the parable of the rich man and lazurus.. lazurus suffered his whole life but loved god.God.. later died and went to heaven the rich man passed him everyday never offering anything to help. Lazurus was rewarded in heaven.. but the rich man went to hell. Begging for lazurus to be sent back to warn his family of hell..he was told they have the scriptures and prophets they have the prophecies ..if they don't believe them they won't believe even if lazurus came back to life. And it's the same that applies to us..thinking we recieve proofs and signs..miracles and holy spirit..yet everytime christ was asked to show proof he denied them the proof. He told his disciples ask anything in my name and recieve NOT US. They had a purpose and task to build the church. Hear the teaching and whitness the miracles and resurrection so that by thier testimonies we believe.. christ said to his disciples BLESSED are you that believe because you have seen how much more blessed are those that believe WITHOUT SEEING.. over 1 million faithful were crucified, burned alive, tortured, flayed, fed to lions for refusing to deny christ or for reading the gospels because the churches wanted to control the interpretations.. these 1st followers of christ willingly died refusing to deny christ. Did the holy spirit guide them from being caught by the persecuters? Did God comfort thier anxiety? Rescue or protect them? Did God send down a thunder bolt to punish the persecuters? What about Peter who was hung upside down? Sol who died from illness? And they were hand chosen by christ. Did they get blessings and houses? No!. They died violent deaths agonizing deaths. And lots did it willingly knowing thier rewards are in heaven.. it is written the disciples can see and recieve GODS SPIRIT BUT THE WORLD (US) CANNOT AND STILL CHURCHES PRETEND THE HOLY SPIRIT IS AMONGST BELIEVERS..WHEN CHRIST BROUGHT THE HOLY SPIRIT ..HE BREATHED ON HIS CHURCH.. FIRE FILLED THE ROOM, THEY REMEMBERED ALL CHRIST TEACHING..THEY RECIEVED POWER TO PERFORM MIRACLES, HEAL AND RAISE DEAD.. THEY SPOKE IN TONGUES AND COULD PROPHECY.. ALL THINGS NOBODY HAS SEEN FELT, WHITNESSED SINCE THEM..SPEAKING IN TONGUES WAS A LANGUAGE ALL TONGUES UNDERSTOOD ALL WHO HEARD WAS AMAZED.. NOT A MADE UP MUMBLE GIBERISH LANGUAGE. BUT THEY RECIEVED BECAUSE THEY HAD A PURPOSE AS CHRIST DID.. HE LEFT THE COMMANDS AND EXPECTATIONS TO RECIEVE ETERNAL LIFE..IT IS NOT A ROAD MAP TO LIVE LONG HEALTHY RICH LIVES ON EARTH. AS GOD MADE LAWS, HE MADE KARMA.. IF YOU EAT BAD OR BEAT ON YOUR BODY U SUFFER LATER, IF YOU WORK HARD AND MAKE GOOD CHOICES GOOD THINGS WILL HAPPEN. IF YOU DO BAD THINGS MOST TIMES BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN AND SOMETIMES THINGS JUST HAPPEN..

Kalyn C in Acts 15 there's a dispute going on about Gentiles needing to keep the law to be saved. But the decision was no Gentiles do not have to keep the law to be saved, and because people were troubling them(probably making them feel overwhelmed like you) the council decided to write to them as clarify this and told them four things that they should avoid. These four things applied to them specifically, though us as well but we don't come from a pagan sacrifices temple worship background so there's less of a relevance to us need to avoid things strangled and blood and things offered to idols. But because they came from a pagan sexually immoral society, they needed to start with abstains from these four things. These things were very relevant to them at that time.
Staying away from four things is less overwhelming, and I think a great approach for new believers, and the idea was they'll learn the rest as they gather together.
The four things were a jumping point of things that absolutely must be avoided for them. But there are other things we are to avoid and also things we should do, which as we abide in reading our bibles we will learn.
The key is to read scripture often. Jesus had a habit of getting up early to pray so some say beginning your day in the Bible is enough, but Jesus said that man shall not live on bread alone but by every Word that comes from the mouth of God. If you think of how often we eat, I think that's how often we should seek to be reading the Word. I put the Bible on CD on when I'm in the car or washing dishes or doing other mundane tasks that prevent me from actually reading, and this has been so impactful on my walk.
I've been a believer for 15 years but this past year God revived my faith and showed me how I need to give myself entirely to these things. One step at a time and God will show you. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Seek His counsel thru the Word and listen for His voice convicting you and heed it. That's the worse mistake I ever did was to not listen when He convicted my heart and His voice got fainter and fainter. When I would be giving my attention to other things that were worthless He spoke to my heart but I did what I wanted and I regret that time I lost. But if we draw near to Him He will draw near to us, praise God! I'm praying for you!

Spiritual growth is a life time pursuit. We can intellectually learn a lot but this does not mean that we can attain Jesus’s character quickly. Concentrate on your responses to your life events, are you getting angry? Find out why? Are you becoming irritated? Look into this? Have you lost your patience? Am I looking at a women the right way? You get my point. These reactions tell us who we are so we are not going to like what we see. This is precisely the point of the gospel to transform us so that we become and respond like Jesus. This is not putting yourself in Jesus’s shoes and saying, what would Jesus do? This is being transformed so that we become like him by the power of the Holy Spirit. We start very low in the Christian life but we have to use what we have to be able to grow. Read the parable of the. Talents. As we start the christian life we need to become very familiar with what Jesus says and understand where He wants to take us. It is not a matter of don’ts it is a matter of understanding that this is a process which culminates when we grow in love to be like Jesus Christ.

I am glad to be able to help you, God bless you.
In John 14:15 “Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” When I was 16 this became true to me. I am 61 now and I go back to those days when I experience the power of the Holy Spirit. I experienced His love which cannot be compared with anything I have experienced in my life since then. I understand the spiritual life I experienced to be the price He will give to me and to anyone who listens to Him, it is wonderful! Full of joy and glory, and this LIFE is going to be permanent. So we live by faith knowing this will be true someday even though we do not see it now but God let’s us know He is with us along the way.

@@fcastellanos57 we have Christ's Righteousness placed on our account so to speak, because we have no "righteousness" of our own. Its the Righteousness we have by Faith in Jésus-Christ, for we are Justified by Faith and Walk in Faith. Jésus is saying in this passage that to seek That Righteousness of God and His Kingdom means to Be Born Again.. Saved from Sin Death Hell Satan and the Grave, for we are Saved by Grace through Faith.. its God's Free Gift to all who Repent and Place Faith in His Son. Now we are in His Kingdom, Covered in His Righteousness. Then the blessings are ours: Atonement Redemption Reconciliation Joy Peace Stillness Rest Abundance Fulfillment, these things we have because we know God and He knows us. Second is to Focus on Christ in His Word, in Prayer, in Worship.. Fellowship with Him is Priority in these evil days so readily so easily overwhelming. Then it means we are to Stand on His Word and be Salt and Light: Preserving what's Right according to God's Word, Exposing evil heresy error sin, and Bringing in the Light of the Gospel to those we encounter. If we Focus on His Will for us, He will Take Care of the rest. If we give to Ministry, He'll provide it. If we serve in Ministry.. even in the smallest thing, He'll honour it. If we Seek Him and His Will and Put Him First, He Will then Provide for us all we need so we don't have to worry about it. That's what I take from Matthew 6: 33. It's not about being "comfortable," nor is it "getting something out of it," for these "name it and claim it" and these "prosperity" false "gospel" hereticks are wolves in sheep's skin, tickling ears manipulating and deceiving the ignorant (who too are corrupt with their "call up the Lord and tell Him what you want")! I've had to deal with this in the church body I was baptised at, and if counter with "how about you calling Him up and asking Him what He wants??" Let's just say that I became unpopular, with the pastor just wanting to "put butt's in the seats" rather than really just focus on glorifying God. I told him God was taking his candlestick from him, sad to say that church body don't exist no more, they closed their doors recently. It's just now another blasphemous mosque that took over the building and which is seeming to spread in America these days! We Had Better Start Waking Up!

The main point is that God has given you something for a purpose and He respects a return on the investment. “
This REALLY spoke to me and tore down some strongholds. I don’t have to be perfect or the best to use what God has given me. I just need to be obedient no matter how insignificant I may see my “talent”

I want to add and explain what Jesus means when He says seek God’s kingdom. God wants to transform us into the image of Christ but for Him to be able to do that, we need to submit in obedience and faith to Him. His kingdom and His riches come out of His Spirit as LOVE. This Love is special, you can read about it in 1Corinthians 13. Jesus said “ my Father receives glory when you produce much fruit” this is the fruit the Father seeks from us and this is the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT,. So if we live our lives seeking the fruit of God’s love in our lives, the Father will take care of all our other needs, to do this truthfully we need to believe what Jesus says if we say we do but keep on worrying that means we don’t have faith and trust in what He says and we will not be able to grow in LOVE, we will be fruitless, so it depends on us.

I love you pastor Mike!!!!! You truly do have a gift for connecting with what the common person goes through. You’re speaking the absolute truth….we often are in denial and it’s just laziness. We want a voice speaking from heaven to spend time seeking the kingdom but if it’s something we like then we will “make” time. We are so backwards 🤦🏽‍♂️

In the Bible, talents ARE treasures. The term refers to a sum of money. Well, technically, an ancient talent is literally a certain weight, of silver or gold (or maybe copper etc). So, treasure. Our modern use of the word 'talent' is more closely related to a certain Biblical use of a word we translate as 'gift'.

    The Righteousness of God.....
    See: Rom3:21-28
Our righteousness must exceed that of the Pharisees: Jesus is our righteousness. See 1Cor1:30
That is why we pray in His Name...

    c. 28:00 So a church ought to appoint people of good character, and once it's done that, find out what their gifts and passions are, and employ them according. If that fulfils the felt needs of the church, even better; but the needs of the church doesn't seem the criterion for the choice of servant.

34:27 It's always a heart issue - who is the object of our love. I'm surprised Deuteronomy 6:5 "You shall love the LORD you God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your might" was conspicuously absent. The discourse on the 'first world problems' and the desire for entertainment becoming a priority (the binge watching comment), the seeking of righteousness all reflect the object of our love. At the very core: Are we loving the LORD with all our heart? Or are we loving ourselves first? What we 'do' precipitates out of 'who we love'. An astute friend of mine looked me in the eye one day and said "It's not what you do. It's who you love, and the do will follow.". Been pondering the impact of that simple statement (in light of Dt 6:5) for years.

I know what im called for, obviously its to serve the lord.
But really, i love buildings, and carpentry, and the whole of it all. I want to build and build alot. I have so many ideas its not even funny! I want to build villages, countryside, towns, cities. That are self-sustainable. When everything is taken away they have what they need. And i find ao much joy at the thought!
This video convicted me but it definitely showed me how i can improved on my walk with jesus! But i do believe we are to enjoy " quality activities" meaning activities where you learn. Because things you learn stay with you forever.
Where as hobbies where you learn nothing or hobbies that font cause you to think about the world around you and jesus isnt anythinf valuable at all.

I’m going to be a pregnancy advocate at a ministry that serve’s pregnant women who are considering abortion. We share the Gospel with them, nurses give ultra sounds, and show them they don’t have to abort because they are cared for and there is help we can offer. Praise the Lord for your ministry. God bless you!

U do know when u "serve " the lord, you do what he taught, Jesus never ask to be "worship" he actually said we're all gods and works he did we can do and GREATER works then him. The "church" made him out to be some super here. Jesus only spoke to ppl in parables (which actually mean they are not literal stories) matter of fact the whole bible u shouldn't take literal. Hebrew 6:1 say don't take the letter literal

The Kingdom of Heaven is where The Father and Son are at present. It is completely Holy and perfect.
Our Father let's us know this.
The Kingdom was once on earth Eden.
God intends to reunite his Kingdom to earth.
The Kingdom of God is in us as Christian, in the garden we lost Holiness and due to sin the Holy Spirit could not dwell in us.
With the coming of Jesus we now are cleansed and can have God the Holy Spirit dwell in us.
we having God in us we bring the Kingdom of God with us in all our endeavours.
Jesus will return and complete the plan of Heaven on Earth.
For now the Kingdom is like. yeast and grows slowly and thoroughly shaping the world and believer.
Jesus Spent his whole ministry proclaiming the Kingdom. even after his death and resurrection.
He did not preach his death or resurrection to the multitudes he did disclose this to his inner circle.
So the Kingdom of God and the principals of the Kingdom and what it is like to be in a Kingdom is of paramount importance.
The Keys of the Kingdom open and shut doors.
we need to study the Kingdom to understand the teachings of Christ and apply them.
Righteousness is the goal of being in right relationship with God.
    Jesus is King.
I think Christians spend too much time on salvation long after they have entered into the Kingdom.
    They stay in the Foyer.
As for things we are ambassadors of God, Go will provide for us to do his work.
God knows what we need and that we have these desires.
I do not think we should be praying for things. for the most part. At least not for personal gain.

35:00 - ‘They’ & ‘You’…could it be that this is not primarily addressed to each individual member of the corinth church, but rather to their unity as a Body, as only where two or more gathered in Name of Christ is where He is…its a We thing
who did paul write to in corinth? how did the reciever distribute to the entire church in a city w a population est to be 200k + as many or more slaves?

I am not sure if it is right, but I live by a "give enough slack for people to hang themselves with" with most people who don't believe or choose not to believe, and even other Christians, because after all we are all just humans.. with that said I'm very much less concerned with what others think of me or what I do, and how it comes off, because I am living for Jesus , in his humility. Doing things for him, and his righteousness covers everything in the long run, inside and out, with people and all the things in life.. Peter even attempted to tell Jesus not to do what he knew he had to, even knowing the ridicule and suffering and death he endured
