This is why all pans should be magnetic and the same size. Then you could swap them around and make a palette of shades you like. (Maybe you still wouldn't, but it would be an option.)
I wore my Venus Lime Crime today to clean the house during a rain storm. That’s a solid palette and makes me wonder why I’m holding onto my ND Sunset…oh yeah $$$😂😂
I love this series! I enjoy your commitment to cutting out the palettes and makeup that you don't absolutely love and reach for! It is hard to get rid of eyeshadow palettes, even if you aren't using them now. What if your preferences change, lol, it is so hard. You are doing amazing!❤ Even if swatching them brings me joy, I would keep them to swatch.
I love how you objectively discuss and even admire the colours and formulations of the greens and blues, even though you know they don't work for you - it amazes me how many beauty folks seem to forget that we can all like different things for different reasons. I've never tried coloured raine, but the formulas look so gorgeous that I'm tempted to give them a go - especially the Safari palette with the yummy greens, golds and oranges.
I have the Safari Raine palette and I haven’t used it probably since 2016 lol. I should get rid of most of my palettes, like you, I like soft colours now and not these pigmented colours. Most of the time I’m not even using an eyeshadow tbh. I don’t know if it’s a phase or I will change. I tend to think that I’m at that age now when I prefer more elegant looks that don’t involve a hell of a lot of eyeshadow usage.
This is how I feel too, and I do worry that my preferences might change and I'll want to go back to bright fun colours again so I err on the side of caution when decluttering but on the other hand I think if the day comes where I want colour again I can always buy new palettes. I'm trying to be smart about what I keep and what I get rid of but I also second guess myself a lot, it's not as easy as I thought it would be lol
I once decluttered a looooad of colourful eyeshadows because all I wanted was nudes, then ended up buying colours when my tastes changed again 🫣 now I want only nudes but know I will get bored again 😬
I depotted some Pat McGrath and completely regret it. Not only did I throw away beautiful packaging but I forget I have them shadow 🤦🏽♀️ They were the 6 pan palettes.
Last month I had to dump Safari Raine because I found mold 😢 It started growing in the packaging and was coming for eyeshadow pans, that's how I noticed it. Small dots near in the cardbord near the eyeshadow pans. I know it was like four or five years old but still, iI hoped it'll be with me for at least another five years. I loved this palette, still sore

I loved Coloured Raine, but now I'm over them. I ordered 2 of the Queen of Hearts palettes back in September for the final stock run. I still haven't recieved it.
I depotted the ones I actually use out of my palettes that I already own into magnetic palettes, and now rarely buy new palettes. I only buy them if they have really interesting shades that aren't anything like what I already have, and then stick that in the magnetic one too. I mainly buy cream/stick eyeshadows, single eyeshadows, and coloured highlighters that I use as eyeshadows Edit Lmao i hadn't got to the anti depotting bit when i wrote that😂

You should do a KAt and combine your favourites of the small pallets into 1 single small pallet that you would love and use.

💜💜💜tfs💜💜💜 queen of hearts palette is my fav from CR.. it's the only one I have kept - the others although amazing just wasn't for me.
