I honestly can’t blame you for that 😂, sometimes you need a break from the invigorating games like the crash series. I remember after I platinumed crash 4 I immediately erased it and went straight to infamous second son, such a great feeling
My biggest issue with Crash 2 was just how confusing and secretive the whole structure of the game was. Someone described it as 'cryptic', which was so true. There were so many times I'd try collecting all the boxes in a level only to realize at the end that it wasn't possible without a certain colored gem or a certain secret route. And times where I ended up needlessly replaying levels to get something I could have gotten on my first visit that I just didn't know about. Secret routes. Death routes. Colored gem paths. Backtracking. Searching online for ways to get something only to realize it isn't possible yet. I ended up replaying some levels way too much. That all irritated me so much that after getting the platinum I spent an unholy amount of time looking up information about the levels in the fandom wiki to better understand and familiarize myself with the structure of the game so that I could make a handy written list of steps, so that if a friend of mine started the game, he would know the most effective way to go about completing it, with minimum backtracking. So here it is: 💀 means there's a death route; a platform with a skull you must use that only spawns if you reach it without dying. It is assumed that you must get the crystal on every level you visit. WARP ROOM 1: In Turtle Woods, get both gems. In Snow Go, get box gem. In Hang Eight, get both gems. In The Pits, get the only gem. In Crash Dash, get the only gem. WARP ROOM 2: In 💀 Air Crash, get hidden gem and find secret exit to Alt Snow Go. [+] In Alt Snow Go, get red gem. In Snow Biz, get only gem. In Bear It, get only gem. In Crash Crush, get only gem. In The Eel Deal, get both gems. WARP ROOM 3: In Plant Food, get both gems. In Sewer or Later, get both gems. In Bear Down, get the only gem and the secret exit to Alt Air Crash. [+] In Alt Air Crash, get the box gem. In 💀 Road to Ruin, get hidden gem. I could have used a piece of text like this one. It could have saved me a significant amount of time and would have made the playthrough so much more effective. Those are awesome notes that will probably help someone so thank you. I agree with you that the level design was cool at some parts but also too hidden at times. They don’t tell you where you have to go or what gems are needed where at all. I googled a lot of it too.
This is a huge comment I didn’t read it, but some of the levels I couldn’t get platinum or gold in and it took hours; especially around 5:20, that HAPPENED to me too around 10:00 mark. WTF
@@babbisp1 dunno if you were playing a lot of games back when these came out originally but i'm pretty sure most of that you mentioned is just to keep you playing longer till you figured it out. back then you'd buy a game for 45GBP and it would take you a few weeks to complete it. if i was trophy hunting without prior knowledge of the game i would be frustrated too but as a kid i had fun figuring out all the secret exits and stuff by myself
For me personally as a 5 year old kid playing the original, what you described was what I loved about it. I was actually disappointed when Crash 2 allowed you to get the gems even when you die. I felt a gem was so valuable in the original Crash Bandicoot compared to how they felt in the next 2 games. Just an unpopular opinion I'm sure 😅

The only time I went for a platinum trophies was when PlayStation did a contest for ps store money. Sadly didn't win anything, not even in the additional contests for gold, silver and bronze trophies
Neat video. I just got done getting all the platinum relics for Crash 1 (besides Stormy Ascent, but one day...) and have moved onto Crash 2. I definitely feel the level design is different. For one thing there are a lot less levels that are 2D/2.5D than in the first (The Great Gate, Native Fortress, Lost City, Sunset Vista, Slippery Climb, Stormy Ascent, Heavy Machinery, and Castle Machinery; the second had mostly just 2D sections but not full levels) and I kind of miss it. While those were some of the hardest levels, they felt good to get good at, like when hopping from one receding platform after another. I think a bit part of it is you don't have to deal with depth perception as much.
Good job on the platinum relics for Crash 1! For a little while I was disappointed with the Crash 2 level design but that all changed when I played Crash 3… now I firmly believe Crash 2 might be the best of the trilogy 😂

@@alexequillex I found Crash 2 the hardest too, got multiples game overs, for some reason the 3d platforming feels very weird for me. Never got a game over on Crash 1 or Crash 3.
Great video mate 😊 I have done the first 3 and definitely found 2 the hardest of them all. I enjoyed crash 1 more to platinum than I did crash 3 as well. Although I found crash 3 more forgiving with the power apps and gives you more options to get through the levels. I am playing crash 4 now and struggling just to complete the levels never mind getting the gem and not dying! Happy new year mate, all the best for 2023. Hopefully many more platinum videos to come

Man i found actually that crash 2 Is the hardest, It has 42 gems instead of 26, and the hardest parte in my opinion, arent the relics but THE GEMS, everyonw who platinumed it knows how much hard was to get the "cold hard crash" gem
I’ve platinum’d crash 2 and Warped, only needed to do the time trials on crash 1 for platinum and personally I reckon 2 was the easiest! It might be also cause it’s my favourite out of the trilogy and I’m very familiar with it! Crash 4 tho? Man that’s been a whole other level of pain, only got 7 n-sanely perfect relics and like 18-20 platinum time trial relics and we got it tho! Great video man! Definitely gonna sun and keep watching! No clue if anyone mentioned it, but getting both gems and the crystal in a lot of these levels is made easier by dying after collecting the extra gems, then breaking every box for the 2nd gem... and some stages like cold hard crash is possible to get the crystal as well for all 3 collectibles in 1 shot
10:00 i know which box you missed - the one in the bonus level just slightly out of screen above another floating box which is itself above a box on the ground. good job though, these levels weren't designed with time trials originally so i found a few of them to be a bit clunky

Yeah, that’s the thing about crash 1 and 2. Their level design was built around patient platforming and wasn’t designed to be rushed through. So levels like the sweet ones are a nightmare. I honestly didn’t enjoy crash 1 much but crash 2 and 3 it’s hard to choose which I like better
Yeah it's interesting knowing that and then playing these 2 games. I think I'd choose Crash 2 out of the trilogy after revisiting them after getting older/better at games
Here's my advice for getting everything in Cold Hard Crash on one single playthrough: - Get to the no death platform, but DON'T hit the checkpoint crate. - Go through the Death Route and smash all the boxes. - At the end, hit the switch crate to trigger the last box, and backtrack through the route to hit it. - Go back down to the main level on the platform, and THEN hit the checkpoint crate (saving all the boxes you broke in the Death Route). - Now go back through the Death Route again and grab the gem at the end. - When you land at the final stretch, die by jumping down a hole. - You'll respawn at the checkpoint next to the Death Route, but you'll still have the gem, as well as all the boxes from the Death Route. - Now finish the level as normal.
So, I tried doing this EXACTLY as you say it while making this vid, but I wasn't skilled enough yet and kept dying lol I also accidently got the gem and fell before I backtracked the 1st time so I ended up just completing it anyways and locking in the gem, which saves me from going through it a second time on one run anyways. Not the coolest/most efficient but just ended up being how I did it. Your way is cooler tho 100% haha
I got the platinum for the trilogy back in 2017 on my old account however i lost all my accounts progress when i got my ps5 as i was using my dads psn account on my ps4 and never set one up for myself. So i had to replatinum the entire trilogy. According to my new account it took me roughly 50 hours for all 3. Crash 4 on the other hand is unforgiving and hopefully going to be my 31st platinum. Main difference is getting every box in a level without dying once to collect the perfect relics on all levels and instead of gold you need the platinum time trials. It is absolutely brutal and id argue its even harder than when i was platinuming bloodborne and cuphead. Great video, always love crash getting some love from the trophy hunting community.

The reaction the people jumping on the bear will always be a core memory for me. As kid we got our father to help with the bear it level. After trying many times my dad got passed off and started jumping on the bear. One of the best moments in my life

I finally got the platinum trophies for the first two games. The first one was really difficult (especially Stormy Ascend). Luckily the gold relic from Stromy Ascend counted for the "Practice makes Perfect" trophy so I didn't have to do the relic for High Road. Crash 2 was a lot easier and it took me only 3 days to earn all gold relics but some of the levels were still very challenging. I got really lucky on Piston it Away. It was the last relic I needed for the trophy and after many tries I got a time of 1:23:27. The time required for the gold relic was 1:23:33. I'll do Crash 3 soon but I want to play God of War Ragnarok first. I don't know if I can do Crash 4 but I'll definitely try.
Congratulations! It isn’t easy at all. This series is awesome so I encourage you to play crash 3 and 4 eventually but yeah god of war ragnarok is definitely more important right now! Lol
As someone who has platinumed each game in the trilogy, and crash 4. I think crash 2 is still my personal favorite (It was my favorite 20 years ago as well), crash 1 was the hardest, and crash 4 is the best crash game in the series. It's hell to 100% crash 4, but if you just want to play the game and have some fun, experience the content and get all the skins (props to them for including lots of cool skins without monetizing them. Nobody does that anymore, and it's a shame) it's very well designed game in every way, and probably the best modern platformer existing today IMO.
Crash 2 is now my 2nd favorite with Crash 4 being my favorite. I found 4 to be a perfect evolution of the series and benchmark for future games to follow. It isn’t perfect but it’s got great upsides to it like you mentioned. Can’t wait to see where the series go moving forward with main entries, not spin offs haha
@@3PointGaming I agree completely, it's true to the original vision of the game if it were made in the modern age with modern resources, I love it to death from start to end but Crash 2 will always be my favorite. IMO crash 4 is to platformers what Doom Eternal is to FPS. They raised the bar for sure!

If I had a nickel for every time you got a trophy that made an NBA Jam reference I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
This was entertaining to watch haha even though I was really confused in the beginning because I played the original Crash games and they have quite a few differences, the biggest being that time trials do only exist in the 3rd Crash, the running shoes are also from there. But the original first Crash was way harder because... you think death route platforms are hard? The original Crash required that you make it through the entire level breaking all boxes without dying to get the gem. You die once, no gem, even if you go back and get all the boxes, which re-appear when you die. Also only 1 attempt at boss bonus rounds and after some levels you couldn't save. Man that game made me hard. It was incredibly fun though and so so satisfying when you made it. Some things are harder in the remake though and some they kept, like Cold Hard Crash still fucks you, this one missing box... whoa I used so many swear words you can't believe it. That damn box and that nitro ice path... Naughty Dog just hate us, but then they don't because they give us free masks and then it's just so fun.

Ahhh memories of getting this platinum it really changed me...and what i hated the most is the level piston away...the first time i got a relic i was litteraly 12 MILLISECONDS AWAY FROM GOLD and i went soooo hard on myself that i got like 1 minute 14 or 13 seconds which is platinum and when i got it i was acting exactly like you when you got platinum for sunset vista (also totally bear is totally horrible and i wish this level was deleted from reality) ALSO I HATE HANGIN OUT
Snow hard crash deathroute was repetitive, yes. But this route contains alot of woompafruit that i actually gained alot of lifes instead of loosing them. I was nowhere close to dying because if the checkpoint save.
Don't ask me how, but when I was a kid I tried to get the Gems for Cold Hard Crash and when I got to the end I had 156/155, I still don't know where I got that extra box but I had to restart the level because of that
I did manage to get the platinum for this game and I feel it’s probably the easiest out of the trilogy, but yeah, this has a few pains. Most of the levels weren’t too bad, but a couple of bastard levels come to mind. Piston it away was really piston me off (pun fully intended, this was probably the hardest level in the game for me to get 100%. Not so much the time trial, but the death route is where I almost lost it). Cold hard crash was tough, not because of the box locations, but because of the ice physics during the death route. As for the time trials, totally bear and Spaced out can fuck right off, these started to ruin my sanity a little. Definitely retries on other levels, but those were the worst that come to mind. Oh and Hangin out’s time trial can also fuck off.
Hangin Out gave me trouble too but for 100% Cold Hard Crash was by far the hardest. The time trials were all pretty equal to me in the end somehow. I think I was just getting better as time passed.
@metalftw9652: I hated Piston it Away too, it can go and piston it off for me too. I got the Platinum though and for me Crash 3 is the easiest and most fun [ also I am just more familiar with it since I played the original PS1 version the most - I was new to Crash 2 ].
I got platinum on every game in the trilogy a few days after the game came out. The one thing I had trouble with and grinded for days was the trophy for getting the gold relic in Stormy Ascent. That level was brutal to do fast. Other than that, I didn't really have any issues, especially with Crash 2. But that could be because I played the original regularly ever since I was a kid.
Did you play Stormy Ascent on Crash 1? I recently played the N’Sane Trilogy and found out I also didn’t finish Crash 2 when I was a kid, interesting enough I never had finished Crash 1 too, since it was too hard for me, but I remember vividly doing everything for Crash 3, including Platinum relics. It’s nice nostalgia.
Haha we’re the same Luiz. After reading your comment, I think I only finished Crash 3 because it’s the easiest. I somewhat remember the end of Crash 1 but Crash 2 was completely a surprise. So strange how I find the games so difficult now that I’m older 😂 To answer your question, I didn’t play Stormy Ascent. I may make a short 5 minute vid on that level and that relic in the future.

My biggest issue with Crash 2 was just how confusing and secretive the whole structure of the game was. Someone described it as 'cryptic', which was so true. There were so many times I'd try collecting all the boxes in a level only to realize at the end that it wasn't possible without a certain colored gem or a certain secret route. And times where I ended up needlessly replaying levels to get something I could have gotten on my first visit that I just didn't know about. Secret routes. Death routes. Colored gem paths. Backtracking. Searching online for ways to get something only to realize it isn't possible yet. I ended up replaying some levels way too much. That all irritated me so much that after getting the platinum I spent an unholy amount of time looking up information about the levels in the fandom wiki to better understand and familiarize myself with the structure of the game so that I could make a handy written list of steps, so that if a friend of mine started the game, he would know the most effective way to go about completing it, with minimum backtracking. So here it is:
💀 means there's a death route; a platform with a skull you must use that only spawns if you reach it without dying.
It is assumed that you must get the crystal on every level you visit.
WARP ROOM 1:
In Turtle Woods, get both gems.
In Snow Go, get box gem.
In Hang Eight, get both gems.
In The Pits, get the only gem.
In Crash Dash, get the only gem.
WARP ROOM 2:
In 💀 Air Crash, get hidden gem and find secret exit to Alt Snow Go.

Those are awesome notes that will probably help someone so thank you. I agree with you that the level design was cool at some parts but also too hidden at times. They don’t tell you where you have to go or what gems are needed where at all. I googled a lot of it too.
This is a huge comment I didn’t read it, but some of the levels I couldn’t get platinum or gold in and it took hours; especially around 5:20, that HAPPENED to me too around 10:00 mark. WTF

@@babbisp1 dunno if you were playing a lot of games back when these came out originally but i'm pretty sure most of that you mentioned is just to keep you playing longer till you figured it out. back then you'd buy a game for 45GBP and it would take you a few weeks to complete it. if i was trophy hunting without prior knowledge of the game i would be frustrated too but as a kid i had fun figuring out all the secret exits and stuff by myself
For me personally as a 5 year old kid playing the original, what you described was what I loved about it. I was actually disappointed when Crash 2 allowed you to get the gems even when you die. I felt a gem was so valuable in the original Crash Bandicoot compared to how they felt in the next 2 games. Just an unpopular opinion I'm sure 😅

The only time I went for a platinum trophies was when PlayStation did a contest for ps store money. Sadly didn't win anything, not even in the additional contests for gold, silver and bronze trophies
Neat video. I just got done getting all the platinum relics for Crash 1 (besides Stormy Ascent, but one day...) and have moved onto Crash 2. I definitely feel the level design is different. For one thing there are a lot less levels that are 2D/2.5D than in the first (The Great Gate, Native Fortress, Lost City, Sunset Vista, Slippery Climb, Stormy Ascent, Heavy Machinery, and Castle Machinery; the second had mostly just 2D sections but not full levels) and I kind of miss it. While those were some of the hardest levels, they felt good to get good at, like when hopping from one receding platform after another. I think a bit part of it is you don't have to deal with depth perception as much.
Good job on the platinum relics for Crash 1! For a little while I was disappointed with the Crash 2 level design but that all changed when I played Crash 3… now I firmly believe Crash 2 might be the best of the trilogy 😂

I think what made Crash 2 the hardest in my opinion is the different playstyle and actions crash can do like slide and stuff

Great video mate 😊 I have done the first 3 and definitely found 2 the hardest of them all. I enjoyed crash 1 more to platinum than I did crash 3 as well. Although I found crash 3 more forgiving with the power apps and gives you more options to get through the levels. I am playing crash 4 now and struggling just to complete the levels never mind getting the gem and not dying! Happy new year mate, all the best for 2023. Hopefully many more platinum videos to come

I’ve platinum’d crash 2 and Warped, only needed to do the time trials on crash 1 for platinum and personally I reckon 2 was the easiest! It might be also cause it’s my favourite out of the trilogy and I’m very familiar with it! Crash 4 tho? Man that’s been a whole other level of pain, only got 7 n-sanely perfect relics and like 18-20 platinum time trial relics and we got it tho! Great video man! Definitely gonna sun and keep watching! No clue if anyone mentioned it, but getting both gems and the crystal in a lot of these levels is made easier by dying after collecting the extra gems, then breaking every box for the 2nd gem... and some stages like cold hard crash is possible to get the crystal as well for all 3 collectibles in 1 shot
I think I did this one time only but every other level I did it in separate runs

10:00 i know which box you missed - the one in the bonus level just slightly out of screen above another floating box which is itself above a box on the ground. good job though, these levels weren't designed with time trials originally so i found a few of them to be a bit clunky

Yeah, that’s the thing about crash 1 and 2. Their level design was built around patient platforming and wasn’t designed to be rushed through. So levels like the sweet ones are a nightmare. I honestly didn’t enjoy crash 1 much but crash 2 and 3 it’s hard to choose which I like better
Yeah it's interesting knowing that and then playing these 2 games. I think I'd choose Crash 2 out of the trilogy after revisiting them after getting older/better at games
Here's my advice for getting everything in Cold Hard Crash on one single playthrough:
- Get to the no death platform, but DON'T hit the checkpoint crate.
- Go through the Death Route and smash all the boxes.
- At the end, hit the switch crate to trigger the last box, and backtrack through the route to hit it.
- Go back down to the main level on the platform, and THEN hit the checkpoint crate (saving all the boxes you broke in the Death Route).
- Now go back through the Death Route again and grab the gem at the end.
- When you land at the final stretch, die by jumping down a hole.
- You'll respawn at the checkpoint next to the Death Route, but you'll still have the gem, as well as all the boxes from the Death Route.
- Now finish the level as normal.
So, I tried doing this EXACTLY as you say it while making this vid, but I wasn't skilled enough yet and kept dying lol I also accidently got the gem and fell before I backtracked the 1st time so I ended up just completing it anyways and locking in the gem, which saves me from going through it a second time on one run anyways. Not the coolest/most efficient but just ended up being how I did it. Your way is cooler tho 100% haha

I got the platinum for the trilogy back in 2017 on my old account however i lost all my accounts progress when i got my ps5 as i was using my dads psn account on my ps4 and never set one up for myself. So i had to replatinum the entire trilogy. According to my new account it took me roughly 50 hours for all 3. Crash 4 on the other hand is unforgiving and hopefully going to be my 31st platinum. Main difference is getting every box in a level without dying once to collect the perfect relics on all levels and instead of gold you need the platinum time trials. It is absolutely brutal and id argue its even harder than when i was platinuming bloodborne and cuphead. Great video, always love crash getting some love from the trophy hunting community.

I finally got the platinum trophies for the first two games.
The first one was really difficult (especially Stormy Ascend). Luckily the gold relic from Stromy Ascend counted for the "Practice makes Perfect" trophy so I didn't have to do the relic for High Road.
Crash 2 was a lot easier and it took me only 3 days to earn all gold relics but some of the levels were still very challenging. I got really lucky on Piston it Away. It was the last relic I needed for the trophy and after many tries I got a time of 1:23:27. The time required for the gold relic was 1:23:33.
I'll do Crash 3 soon but I want to play God of War Ragnarok first. I don't know if I can do Crash 4 but I'll definitely try.
Congratulations! It isn’t easy at all. This series is awesome so I encourage you to play crash 3 and 4 eventually but yeah god of war ragnarok is definitely more important right now! Lol

As someone who has platinumed each game in the trilogy, and crash 4. I think crash 2 is still my personal favorite (It was my favorite 20 years ago as well), crash 1 was the hardest, and crash 4 is the best crash game in the series.
It's hell to 100% crash 4, but if you just want to play the game and have some fun, experience the content and get all the skins (props to them for including lots of cool skins without monetizing them. Nobody does that anymore, and it's a shame) it's very well designed game in every way, and probably the best modern platformer existing today IMO.
Crash 2 is now my 2nd favorite with Crash 4 being my favorite. I found 4 to be a perfect evolution of the series and benchmark for future games to follow. It isn’t perfect but it’s got great upsides to it like you mentioned. Can’t wait to see where the series go moving forward with main entries, not spin offs haha
@@3PointGaming I agree completely, it's true to the original vision of the game if it were made in the modern age with modern resources, I love it to death from start to end but Crash 2 will always be my favorite. IMO crash 4 is to platformers what Doom Eternal is to FPS. They raised the bar for sure!

This was entertaining to watch haha even though I was really confused in the beginning because I played the original Crash games and they have quite a few differences, the biggest being that time trials do only exist in the 3rd Crash, the running shoes are also from there. But the original first Crash was way harder because... you think death route platforms are hard? The original Crash required that you make it through the entire level breaking all boxes without dying to get the gem. You die once, no gem, even if you go back and get all the boxes, which re-appear when you die. Also only 1 attempt at boss bonus rounds and after some levels you couldn't save. Man that game made me hard. It was incredibly fun though and so so satisfying when you made it. Some things are harder in the remake though and some they kept, like Cold Hard Crash still fucks you, this one missing box... whoa I used so many swear words you can't believe it. That damn box and that nitro ice path... Naughty Dog just hate us, but then they don't because they give us free masks and then it's just so fun.

Ahhh memories of getting this platinum it really changed me...and what i hated the most is the level piston away...the first time i got a relic i was litteraly 12 MILLISECONDS AWAY FROM GOLD and i went soooo hard on myself that i got like 1 minute 14 or 13 seconds which is platinum and when i got it i was acting exactly like you when you got platinum for sunset vista (also totally bear is totally horrible and i wish this level was deleted from reality)

Snow hard crash deathroute was repetitive, yes. But this route contains alot of woompafruit that i actually gained alot of lifes instead of loosing them. I was nowhere close to dying because if the checkpoint save.
Don't ask me how, but when I was a kid I tried to get the Gems for Cold Hard Crash and when I got to the end I had 156/155, I still don't know where I got that extra box but I had to restart the level because of that

I did manage to get the platinum for this game and I feel it’s probably the easiest out of the trilogy, but yeah, this has a few pains. Piston it away was really piston me off (pun fully intended, this was probably the hardest level in the game for me to get 100%. Not so much the time trial, but the death route is where I almost lost it). Cold hard crash was tough, not because of the box locations, but because of the ice physics during the death route. As for the time trials, totally bear and Spaced out can fuck right off, these started to ruin my sanity a little. Definitely retries on other levels, but those were the worst that come to mind. Oh and Hangin out’s time trial can also fuck off.
Hangin Out gave me trouble too but for 100% Cold Hard Crash was by far the hardest. The time trials were all pretty equal to me in the end somehow. I think I was just getting better as time passed.
@metalftw9652: I hated Piston it Away too, it can go and piston it off for me too. I got the Platinum though and for me Crash 3 is the easiest and most fun [ also I am just more familiar with it since I played the original PS1 version the most - I was new to Crash 2 ].
A level later in the game does not mean its harder than a level near the start, love your videos so far

I got platinum on every game in the trilogy a few days after the game came out. The one thing I had trouble with and grinded for days was the trophy for getting the gold relic in Stormy Ascent.
That level was brutal to do fast.
Other than that, I didn't really have any issues, especially with Crash 2. But that could be because I played the original regularly ever since I was a kid.
Stormy ascent is seriously so brutal. I used to watch speed runs of it at events like gdq and they made it look easy…

Did you play Stormy Ascent on Crash 1?
I recently played the N’Sane Trilogy and found out I also didn’t finish Crash 2 when I was a kid, interesting enough I never had finished Crash 1 too, since it was too hard for me, but I remember vividly doing everything for Crash 3, including Platinum relics. It’s nice nostalgia.
Haha we’re the same Luiz. After reading your comment, I think I only finished Crash 3 because it’s the easiest. I somewhat remember the end of Crash 1 but Crash 2 was completely a surprise. So strange how I find the games so difficult now that I’m older 😂
To answer your question, I didn’t play Stormy Ascent. I may make a short 5 minute vid on that level and that relic in the future.
