Maybe you guys and I are watching something different because yes I see a lot of self confidence..... But i'm not feeling The positive nor optimistic vibes That your feeling Neither in this video nor the series. I feel like Ninety nine percent of netflix series with this age rating are trying to be dark and/or edgy 🤔 😳 😳 😐 😕 😜 🤪 and it's not it
@@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072 In what way does this show give you "dark" or "edgy" vibes? Also, which character(s) do you like/relate to most? (I'm thinking the latter question may help give some insight.) Dealing with real true-to-life obstacles and issues doesn't automatically make something "dark". The storylines, the colour pallet, the imagery, and the innocence and hopefulness in the young characters are what elicit optimistic and positive vibes. Plus the giddiness of crushes, first loves, and realizing parts of one's identity, tend to be exciting and positive experiences. Anyways, the characters may struggle, but they have supportive friends and/or family, and they overcome or are on their way to working through their issues and feelings. They learn and they grow, which is most often a positive thing.
@@checksanity Uhh I think Ben’s character for one. and Charlie’s for another. Giddiness of crushes? Uhh mmmmm there was nothing “innocent” about that. There weren’t many obstacles that I found “true to life”. Some yes. Although some of the time they would handle it weird, like shoehorning certain terms to let you know that this is a PSA in Netflix series format lol it was giving me Degrassi vibes where all problems are happening at once, but HeartStopper just hammered the characters with predictable Netflix style badluck. Like Titans but nobody dies….. well.. but of course DeGrassi was able to at least space it out somewhat and the way people spoke, and the vocabulary that people used (I’m not talking about sIang) were a lot more normal. Like Nick, talking with his mother was very unnatural sounding from both parties. It was written by straight people. Or at least people who are not attracted to the same gender. and that scene during rugby practice I believe? where nick’s on the ground and Charlie is reading him for fiIth was again a non-sequitur on Charles’s part. Yeah they have friends and family who love them. But since we’re not at *_The End_* it’s always gotta create devastating confIict to hook us lol I couldn’t relate to any of the characters, which is not unique to heartstopper. I don’t think there’s a single fictional nor real life person that I relate to. I might edit later when I think of 1. For HS this is mostly because of their unnatural, and sometimes unnecessary dialogue made it hard to connect to them as people.. It just felt like I was interrupting a set of people reading their Scripts on a stage. That scene where Ben a/s/sauIts Charles? I do not feel a single thing. But it’s not the actors fault, it’s just mostly that they’re physically not right for the parts, if Ben was just a little bigger and Charlie a little smaller than I might be able to believe it. And personally I don’t like Charles playing the part of the “weaker vesseI” if you know what I mean. A lot of people say she made nick stronger just because he’s “half straight” and so subconsciously she wrote him that way? I think that’s a very rude train of thought, but given what happened lately, it’s not that far-fetched anymore. The scene where Nick punches Harry- felt nothing. Harry sounded like an edgy Ioser and as such Nick shouldn’t have lost his cool. You mean to tell me that Harry has not thrown out that word around before? Do you know how casually secondary and *_primary_* schoolers say that? What would’ve been better is if Harry said something about hurting- nay! KiIIing CharIie whenever he found him alone. Even though I try to stay away from dark and edgy content, if the creators wanted me to feel something from that scene, then something like that’s what they should’ve done. In fact, I relate more to a straight woman from Star Trek (Jadzia Dax) than I do a non straight boy from the series!
they're both so cute, bradley's smile is so sweet and as someone in the ace spectrum i love isaac's storyline so much! just thinking about all the kids who didn't know that ace or aro could be a thing and now have something that they can relate to makes me so happy and makes me think of how much i wish i had this when i was younger and didn't understand what was so different about me.
Isaac as a character, and Heartstopper as a show, may not be the first to explore a storyline of an aro and ace character. But it is always nice to have more representation that people can easy stumble upon without specifically looking for shows with aro and/or ace rep. I hope this show will help a lot of people with finding the labels that might fit them. I do hope that Isaac's storyline gets even more developed in S3, hopefully with more aspec characters to show the diversity of the ace and aro community.

Was so proud of tobie for carrying this role, and Bradley supporting the storyline with James too. I remember Tobi's season 1 vlogs when it was all new and exciting, shows how quickly they've grown
Isaac's storyline is so important to me. I am 38, and like last year, I realized I was ACE. I always thought that when I find the one, it will be like I read in books or what I saw in the media. I couldn't figure out why I had dated men and just didn't feel that way. I felt a strong love for them, but it was like a strong friendship. Why I had no desire for sex or intamcy much. I was talking to a friend about it and she was like, "Hey, did you ever consider it isn't that you haven't found the right person but, that you might be ACE or Asexual." It was like a light bulb went off in my head and that a weight had been lifted. I didn't need to put so much pressure on myself to have this magical lovestory. I had, like Tobie said, never seen my story growing up. We barely knew what asexuality was. I really love that they are exploring this. I cried when Isaac cried because I knew what that felt like. I wanted to be so much like my friends and be "normal." Luckily for me, my folks, although I have never said anything, I think know. If they don't, maybe I will have my Nick coming out to his mom. I am still figuring things out, but I will get there.

I loved Isaac and James in the series. I think the addition of Isaac as an ace character (whilst his parallel in the comics Aled was gay/bi but not expanded on) was really smart and a lot more fitting. I love the part where the Paris squad are like “Omg Isaac did you guys kiss” after he met up with James in the library, and Isaac just said something like “Fuck off”, because it really shows that whilst the show’s about love and everyone’s obsessed with romance, there’s place for euphoria and self-discovery outside of that. I just love Isaac and it’s really good ace representation
I was really surprised how much James would get me in this post kiss scene. It was so similar to Charlie being left after the kiss, only that Isaac didn't come back for him. No 'I like you' for him. I know it was about Isaac's journey but I felt so sorry for James. His first kiss going so wrong. Great acting.

They do chemistry reads for all characters who have to act opposite one another, not just romantic partners.
