Awesome! That’s was part of some of the song choices on the album, finding songs that were lesser known and recording those so that people could hear them. 😊
I really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing. I was in the Quebec outback in the 1980's the day before Christmas and the local Quebecois were singing this song in French in the one tavern in town. (It sounds even better in French, Tony Meade, maybe some time you might give it a go) The locals were very friendly and included us in the festivities, we had a great time.
Awesome! Gets me in the mood to drink with the lads... which isn't so good right now, since it's still early in the morning ^^ Oh well, a few hours to wait...
A friend from Japan knew this tradition but I was the only English person in my family who had heard of it. We sang the first verse at school in the 1960s. I wonder if modern schools teach traditional songs?
Its nice to hear 13th century songs in its entirety. Many are just the music.
Thanks for checking in out!
I love it! My wife had never heard this song before, I was flabbergasted!

Now, this is the wassail song that we need for those rowdy Christmas parties!!
That’s exactly what they use it for! 😂🎅🏻🎄
