How To Make A Leather Blanket Roll (Super Easy!)
This is a quick and simple leather craft tutorial for how to make a leather blanket roll. This project is great because you can use smaller pieces of belting or strapping scrap, and you can also simply grab some pre-cut straps if you want! Add a couple buckles, a couple D rings, and some rivets and you're good to go :) Happy Crafting!

$30 for an HBC point blanket is an absolute steal of a deal; A brand new 4 point(a double) goes for around $400. Judging by the label, there's no French language on it, so it was made pre-1950, and the square label design started being used somewhere between 1934 and 1940. So your blanket is somewhere between 75 and 90 years old.

@@Corter Yeah, you should. You might want to do some research on it, too. The Hudson's Bay Company is very much entwined in Canadian history, at one point owning most of the territory that became Canada. Those blankets were used in the fur trade. It's a bit like finding a rare pair of vintage Levis or an antique 45. It could be worth much more. I just looked on eBay and they are all in the $300+ range. Where do you get them for under $100?

Thanks again Eric @Corter , it turned out great! Burgundy veg tan for the spine (doubled) with hand stitched edge, old school brass rivets n burrs, brass snaps and Conway buckles, latigo for the straps. Alpaca blanket wrapped under a waterproof ground pad. Should be just the thing for their mountain picnics and star gazing. 😊

i have the same brass "pocket change dish" i collect brass figurines, vass's anything old and made out of brass. they dont make stuff like that anymore and its getting harder and harder to find
