Thanks for showing us that. A year with my Nox 800 and I'm still learning, but finding lots of good stuff, and finding stuff my old machines missed. Couple of times I've found silver dimes right on top of galvanized water pipes - the target separation is very, very good with the Nox. Same with coins right in a bed of nails and such. I'd not used other settings thatn Park 1 so far (others seemed kinda noisy and the tones not what I was used to) but I'm going to start trying out some of the other settings on a few places I've hit hard with Park 1 already. Today is an old church yard that has been productive, but finds have petered out - so wish me luck trying Park 2 and maybe Field 1 on the same area. I do enjoy your videos, and I do learn from them.
Nice finds man, im on one heck of a silver slump right now. One of those slumps where you start to question your coil, machine, and life. Makes me want to grab the equinox that much more. Keep up the good work man
Nice assortment of finds from a pounded area! I'm sure this will help a lot of newbies. BTW, the silver clip, in the military we call that a frog. Most likely went to the back of sterling pilot wings or jump wings--probably WW2 era. HH, Dave.
Nice finds I just got my Equinox 800 and what I find is usually lots of wheats silver will follow then I’ve been hitting silver half’s also walkers and Franklins two of each past two months!
The nox will find pennys like crazy but that can be good as checking the dates will let you know if silver is likely to be around and with the update it will pick up even small silver on edge . I have found several tiny Victorian silver 5 cent pieces ( Canada) from a well searched park 😉
Wow, your best find was that crotal bell... and no mention...sweet hunt! VDI and depth readings are weird ducks on the Nox...and even the tone modulation seems sub-par...but SOMEHOW it is a coin magnet!!!! You ever try 5kHz? It's all I use now when trying for silver. I double check in multi.
I have a equinox 800 you can run this detector threw a landfill site and it will still separate the coin signals ,the recovery speed is unbelievably fast 👍
Great video. I have been running an equinox 800 since March of 2018 and have quite a bit of time on it. I just wanna say you cant go by the VDI's on an equinox they are to close to one another, and I dig all zinc penny signals they hit in the same VDI's as Indian head penny's in my soil. I got a 1864 2 cent piece and it hit a VDI of 24-25. I recently got a 1910 Canadian 5 cent silver piece "aka" a Fishscale " and it hit a VDI of 20. Just sharing some info of my experience with the 800. They are absolutely coin monsters.
I'm extremely please with it on coins! I've dug so many amazing things on that zinc penny VDI! I agree though it's hard to go by the VDI on it, once you know that coin sound the VDI is not needed! Thanks for watching!
Nice video Bud, I just dont ever pay attention to VDI, back years ago when I started out with the explorer XS and was learning the old timers I hunted with told me if I continue to worry about the VDI's I would pass over more good targets than I could ever imagine so I have went off sound every since they said it was a lazy mans way I would go insane if I attempted to watch them I dont go by depth meter either its usually wrong as well, only thing I can say for a newbie is relax and enjoy and learn your machine dont get frustrated everything in life is a learning process once you learn it you will be rewarded very well and it will be a 2nd nature very little thought when I first started I always tried to over anylaze everything. I am still learning things today its just alot less stressful. lol
I was running all out of the box default settings in park 2. Once I get really familiar with the machine I will start tweaking or looking for a good custom program! Thanks for watching!
Great job man. I keep thinking about trying a different detector but until someone can prove to me that a different detector is a lot better than the Ace 400 I will just keep using my Ace for land hunting. Air tests don't seem to show me much difference either.
Thanks Mike! There's already been some situations with silver coins that were masked where a few of my friends couldn't hear the targets but the Nox was hitting it well! I feel when it comes to masked targets that this machine will really shine in comparison to other detectors, the depth on it is also insane. I can speak from experience having used a wide array of detectors when I say the Nox is not just hype!
hello, I am asking for a hint ... I had xterra705, garrett at pro and nokta impact. I need a waterproof detector with wireless headphones to search for coins in various areas, but mainly cluttered fields with low mineralization ... I am considering buying at max or abfibio or equinox 800 I am asking for advice
All 3 are great machine, I highly recommend the Nox 800. I've never used the Anfibio but I hear good things. The AT max is great too but lacks the multi-freq. that the Nox and Anfibio have. Shoot me an email and we'll work out a deal! digthatbeep@gmail.com
I did notice that, I do love the Nox but the Etrac & CTX are much more stable on target identification in my opinion but it's to be expected giving the price difference. I've yet to update my Nox, hope that helps some! Thanks for watching!
Good job!!!! Do you ground balance your Nox or use the Quick start program??? What recovery speed have you been using?? I like park 2 with the recovery speed of 5 & the 50 tones. Happy Hunting!!!!
I love the ring your wearing. I have a 1921 Morgan Silver dollar ring I wear for my wedding ring. I subbed your channel. Come by and check out my finds. I’m getting the Nox 800 this week. Just doing some homework before it arrives and your video is helpful. Keep doing them if you don’t mind. Happy Hunting to you sir.
I'm very impressed with the depth of this machine, hard to say because soil types vary and it may be different in your area. Also the size of the item that's being recovered will play into this. I can assure you that it goes deep!
What were your Nox settings?? Park2, reactivity=?, Sensitivity=? I heard the lower the reactivity setting the deeper it can reach. Thanks for the video. My Nox is coming in June.....
Thanks! Yes, that's a 45 Walking Liberty Half that I dug! My buddy Ron with Boston Coin ring made it for me, he does great work! Here's his instagram page! instagram.com/bostoncoinring/
love your silver finds bro, I'm still trying to figure out the park2 mode, with so many confusing' different sounds, any way keep safe out there happy hunting.
Another awesome hunt congrats on the silvers. I'm thinking of getting a 600 if I can find one. You seem to be liking yours do you think the 600 is on par with the 800 l would like to know your opinion.
Thanks Forrest, I hear the 600 is really nice too but I've yet to use one! I'm sure once the machine is more available there will be some comparison videos between the two!
I've watched this video twice because it gives me hope finding silver. In Seattle area, finding silver in parks is getting ridiculously difficult. Seems like your parks are not as hunted out. Can you explain how to set up the Nox so that the false 26/27 signals that usually come up either nails or aluminum can be logically determined when passing the coil over it?? I am getting very frustrated with the Nox. Tons of signals, but difficult to decipher them. I tend to dig iffy ones when I can't get a repeatable, steady VDI......I am almost ready to rid myself of the Nox and get the CTX!!
It gets easier the more you use it. I do occasionally dig nails on iffy signals but for the most part coins will have a very consistent VDI on each swing and can be heard from all sides. Most of the time you will loose a nail signal if you turn 90 degrees. Aluminum cans will be heard from all angles but are much bigger so you can usually eliminate them by lifting your coil while sweeping over the target, coin signals will usually be lost after you get a few inches off the ground but your cans will still give a signal after lifting the coil 10+ inches off the ground. This method helps a ton and you'll get better at it the more you do it! I was detecting at an old air force base in this video, our parks suck here too! Thanks for watching!
My NOX is on order. Still using my Etrac and am finding silver. Can't wait to get the NOX and hit some old parks around here. I know the silver will be coming out of the ground here in Seattle!! By the time it gets here, I will know the numbers. Were you in Park 1 or Park 2 and do you tweak the settings to get more depth??
I feel the same way ! The Equinox is NOT a coin machine it's more a relic machine in lots of iron or like I like to say a dig everything machine. When it comes to hunting for coins it's nowhere close to the CTX , E-trac or even the 705 !
I don't feel it's near as accurate on target identification as the CTX & Etrac as I've used both. What I can say is that I do kill the coins with it but I'm a coin shooter and that's mostly what I target! I've very pleased with it so far! Thanks for watching, HH!
The nox is a coin machine....the nox is a beast....best machine I have ever owned...I own the machines above and neither will do what the nox will do at these nasty homesites ...buy one
Thanks for watching! I've actually been amazed with the depth, I've already hit two old coins at 8" plus with no problems! Most of the coins in our area don't sink much deeper than 5/6"! HH!
Great machine. I have too much money invested in my Garretts so I'll stay with them. Nice finds as always. I contacted the woman that lost the class ring & mailed it this morning.
Wow! The equinox 800 is taking over the metal detecting world! (I'm thetreattreasuretrove , from Instagram) great video! How did you clean that war nickel from being so crusty? I normally put coins in lemon juice, for a minute, but is there a better way?
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! I was actually able to pick most of it off with my nail in the field. I did a light tumble and a little tooth pick work for the rest. I do prefer lemon juice on my war nickels but I was out of it at the house! I do try to get that heavy coating off first then lemon juice what's left!
Unfortunately, Indian Head Pennies and early wheat pennies, read like zinc pennies(19-20 VDI), Later 1940+ wheats and copper memorials read 23-24. If you're in older areas, other good items read 20 too. Dandy buttons, trimes and half dimes will read 19-20 too.
You're right, I always base it off the age of site & depth! I know technically I should dig it all but some areas make it almost impossible! Thanks for watching!
I see You have a Silver Ring made from a Half Dollar. Did You make the ring ? I make the state quarter rings and Half Dollar Kennedy Rings. I do a little bit on the silver ones too.
nice finds

Great video!!

Good job with the equinox its always nice to watch your videos and also learn.
Thanks Terry, appreciate that man!!

The Equinox is one mean machine!! Can't wait to put it to the test here in our hunted out parks!!
Nice finds buddy...

No problem, hope you did well at your permission!
Awesome hunt!!

Good hunt bro. I got to test a Nox 800 couple weeks ago. Pretty cool machine.
Thanks man! I really like it so far, took a little getting used to but really starting to get a feel for it!
Very nice mate!
Great video, thanks for sharing with us. Hope to make this my next machine if I can find one lol. HH&GL

Do you set up the Park mode different or run it at factory settings
We run park 2 with default settings!

Has Minelab come out with any shooter coils for the equinox yet?

That’s weird. The soil where I live the war nickels are treated well and never get crusty. Maybe it’s just sandy soils that do that.
Possible, we have it happen often here!
That's a slow day of hunting for me.
