Best part about this chanel.
You show how truly capable these cars are without the faked struggle
I know there's a lot of money pumped into them.
But they aren't just completely unattainable.
"You know what will make this 200 really capable, spend 60k stretching chopping and adding a tray, all before you start modding it all over again" 😮
Tyler its Gary. I was born in the Snowy Always have a Scarf and Gloves old Mate, great stuff. Hope Dad is good. Love your trip. Your the best 4x4 show on You Tube.
The van certainly make cooler weather more comfy especially if it rains or snows
Yeah, great video, not every vid has to be mad charging and rock climbing. It also great to relax with the fam. Many of us have been here since before the episode where Zeph was a twinkle in your ee, so it's good to see him grow. and enjoy the bush
Love Zephy “ three years teaching him to walk and talk “ next fifteen telling him to sit down and shut up 🤠🩵
I concur completely with this adventure.
Living in Vic makes it pretty hard to keep the adventure spirit up during the cold months.
This year I purchased a tiny Avan with the pointy roof. Such a light van to tow. Fitted a diesel heater & now our disgusting winter freezing temps don't hold me back. It actually makes mid winter trips fun.
Super humble tyler love the episode 🤙
That underwater shot of the suspension 🤌🏻 longer versions of that would be sick!
Another great video Tyler. The older I get the more interested I am in these caravan reviews. I never thought I'd see the day.
I've seen so many people complaining and removing their E lockers lately. Airs also have some problems but do seem a lot more reliable
Simple auto lockers are the most reliable out in the bush, no electricals to malfunction or air lines that could leak. Scary on the road though if you aren't used to it and would be chirping tires on hard corners or when parking. But very cost efficient way to lock your diffs off-road.
Best episode! Had a bit of everything in it. Loved the family involvement.
Top notch!! I love the mix of content. A lot of lol moments in this one, excellent.
Looks like a nice comfortable camper for a couple not intending to do any serious off-roading.
Always love watching your vic high country eps! The camera never does it justice as to how steep the high country really is 😂
Great well rounded video with a bit of everything, bonus points for Leykan's magnificent red beard. 😂
Even though it wasnt in frame, i know Demis legs were kicking while she was trying to pull that back wall out and Tyler was choking back a laugh.
Another GREAT video, Thanks Tyler and Co 😊
Loved this episode folks. Nice to balance the hard wheeling with the cool family trips. Seems like you scored a good brother in law Tyler. Good addition to the channel. One thing I learnt growing up is; if the guy with the big red beard is telling people you're crazy, you know it's true.
i swear the triton is in high range? im only 5 mins in to the vid at this stage..
Your vids are solid, music great, awesome content.....
Love the overlanding stuff.
Awesome camper....., thanks for the share
🤙👍
That was a great cruisy week in the high country guys.👌🥶 Hey Zeph i wish i had a set of traction boards when i was a young fella!😀 Ask dad for a winch for Christmas😆
Love it. Learnt how to 4wd in this area and is somewhere I come back to quite often. Always manage to find somewhere new or another track to tackle. Great vid
Great Ep mate! Was awesome meeting you at the show! That Merringtons/O’tools area is my go to area to escape. So good there. Regarding Flats track tho I think u went up what’s know as “Old Flats Track”. Flats track is steep but graded and very drivable. Unlike Old Flats. They link up half way along. Great effort up it anyway. The old girl can still climb even with a dodgy locker! Keeps it up! Adam.
We had our hybrid out the back of erica a couple of weeks ago and got snowed on as well. The worst bit was having to turn the diesel heater down at night because we got too hot! Even had a Triton as a tow vehicle as well 😂😂.
Another great adventure you are ballsy going up those hills mate especially no lockers great content 👍
I was going to fit a pair of Harrop e-lockers to my 80. As I prefer them over air-lockers. But with the troubles you've had on yours, I'm reconsidering. Let us know what is causing your issues. Cheers.
I've got them on my 80 no issues at all
Timmy has heart has a great video about the issues he has had with his e lockers and why he went to air. I’ve got air lockers and they’ve never let me down
The mechanical part isn't the issue. It's the crap looms they come with. Harrop need to up their game. TjandMac can only do so much for their image. But if they can't come to the table with quality, they will go the way of Drifta camper trailers.
Harrop E lockers are garbage, most that run them have engagement issues constantly including myself. Zero issues for the first year and after that they've been terrible. Pulling mine out to go air lockers.
Couple shed eps coming up. Im predicting 😂
At least there’s one good thing about being up before 6 on a Sunday!!
You found the best camping spots for sure.
I went up that track to mt terrible in my 120 Prado front lockers only, superior 3 inch lift with 35s v6 supercharged, live front end conversion. Trust me you will be very surprised how capable it’s been.
Totally agree about starting off in a less capable car forces you to pick better lines ... mine was a Mitsubishi L300 van which tipped to the side at 19 degrees so i also had to learn not to take side slopes. LOL
Great video, was good seeing a not so hardcore 4wd video for a change 😊
Keep up the good work
Wholesome trip mate . Well done 👍
So when is the build series starting on Leyken's Triton?
Its funny what everyone is used to. I grew up at 1800m. This is just life at altitude In Colorado. Where I live, we get to at least -20 C for 1-3 weeks in the winter months. I would be wearing shorts where you guys are.😂😅😂😅😂. Cheers, Tyler!🎉🎉
Good episode mate.👌keep up the good work. Cheers 👍
That ain't cold -19c is cold in a caravan scotland no heater 😮 few years ago now, 😂 from Steve near Chester England 🏴 where the Roman's once lived. Great video. THANKS.
The triton wants a ultimate9 in it! Completely changed mine on and off road
Mentioning the worn transfer case chain, have you considered replacing the transfer case with something gear driven? Advance Adapters "Atlas" or Behemoth Drivetrain "Colossus" transfer case maybe? Both cases look pretty modular, there's a chance they might work in the patrol. Plus a transfer case like that will give you a lot more low gear ratios.
The patrol transfer cases are regarded as very strong already. Chain driven is usually considered stronger than gear driven because the chain is in mesh with 1/2 the gear at all times instead of 3 or 4 teeth. I think I’d see it as a lot of work for little reward especially when reduction gears are available.
@@mitchellnunan8228pretty sure he already has reduction gears already
@@mitchellnunan8228 I agree, chain driven gears make a lot more contact than gear to gear. That being said why everything heavy duty uses gear driven transfer cases? I suspect most of the trucks have a chain driven cases because it is easy, cheaper and quieter. Less gears, less bearings, less weight, less noise, not because it's a stronger design. Yes, it is a lot of work, but a twin stick transfer case looks like a much stronger unit with a lot more gear ratios. The other thing is... what is the life cycle of a chain? If it takes another 5 - 10 k of driving in 4wd to wear out a new chain that costs 800-900 dollars alone, I think I'll consider replacing the transfer case with a gear driven one. For us Europeans everything becomes much more expensive when delivered...customs, shipping, etc. If someone here is an engineer or has a real life knowledge about transfer cases I'll be happy to hear their opinion on the matter. Cheers!
Fantastic episode 👍👍
Awesome fun to be had when it’s cold my favourite time to up hills when everything it’s wet not dusty no snakes camper slash caravan looks great let Demi’ brother that stretcher under swag in the cold keep him dry I thought they were a wank but I was so wrong the water up there at so cold it would have rattled those rocks in ya heads 😂 keep having fun and keep hanging it on the old boy adds to the episodes.
Nice family video...super
Burto is going to be busy with all the repairs after this and maybe a now build for Lakin.
Mine always smokes like that when its cold ... have even replaced or reco'd every single thing in the entire system ... still does it but works perfect in warmer climates. Weird thing is my other one doesn't do it ever. only difference is one is a 1999 and the other is a 2000.
Big episode ❤
I really enjoyed this video mate, it was a great blend of all things camping/4×4ing. Can you please tell me what lockers you are running, coz I don't want to have the same problems when I get some fitted. Cheers guys 👍🐕🤠
Love it 🤌🏾
Tyler... Luv the music... To your videos.... Who is responsible for the tunes? A tracklist would be cool... Hadn't heard New Order in years!! Thanks!
Great Vid... One Day.....
Great episode but I am a tad bias because I can easily skip the caravan ad bits.
Don’t worry about smashing tracks every trip love a little variety in there that’s why we watch ya channel not to say I don’t mind ya smashing tracks
Tell ya the truth I’ve been thinking of going from air lockers (arb) to Harrop lockers I never had trouble with Harrop in my old gq
You’ve got me worried though I’ve had heaps of dramas with air lockers
What happened to Buto ... he's of the books for this trip... great video started ok but got better 👍
Great video Tyler. Love the camps along the Donnelly's Creek Rd. Looks like the GQ towed the 2.2t reasonably well. Is the TB48 a better tow vehicle than the TD?
Thank you! It depends on the scenario, the GQ is better for off-road steep tracks etc due to being a manual diesel with reduction gears. But then the TB48 GU handles the heat/engine load better for beach driving/highway driving then the TD42. Overall you'd probably choose the TB48 for a variety of towing conditions
Bring coffee
Great video, mate. What drone are you using?
Bye bye cvs on the mitsi...
How going does the op look 🤩
how come every youtubers lockers are never working ?? i cant say ive ever had a problem with my lockers not working
Are you running superflex sway bar kit or factory if so do you normally disconnect your front for more flex?ok those tracks
Didn't know U had a brother😂
Where's Burto?
What lockers do you have on the GQ? E or Air lockers?
I believe they are Harrop e-lockers.
Wealie slept in, missed being first 😂
Go the triton
Prefer the high country vids over cap york...
Did Flats Track going down last Australia Day, at 2am after light rain, we arrived late so as to be already set up come Friday morning, the rain came just as we were getting to the turn off. My unlocked 80 Series made it down relatively unscathed, but FK me, the most terrifying drive I’ve ever done!
