Honestly, it's my favorite book of MXTX. I think it's hilarious and so clever and it's much more of an easier read than the other two. Of course, CQL will always be my number one and WangXian my favorite of the three pairings.

If you read the book you’ll get more context and everything starts to make sense, lol i was so confused just watching the animated version. I think the drama adaptation does a good job in telling the story imo, but if you like visuals and stuff the animated version is the way to go.

I remember how I got into mdzs the same summer the cdrama dropped. I first got interested from the AMVs and watched the first season. Then read the book and THEN the drama was announced. An unforgettable summer honestly. I remember crying so hard when I first read the golden core reveal, it’s so unexpected and hurts so much. But yeah, I’m just happy the fandom hasn’t died

To be direct, JYL is the only one who actually acknowledges WWX as family, calling him her younger brother. So I don't think there's a problem saying they were family (only thet, not the Jiangs)

Honestly, it's my favorite book of MXTX. I think it's hilarious and so clever and it's much more of an easier read than the other two.
Of course, CQL will always be my number one and WangXian my favorite of the three pairings.

To be fair, that IS her least iconic work. Not that I didn't enjoy it, but I've read the same base idea like 20 times in other gay chinese novels and unlike some of the others, it felt somewhat rushed? Her other works are a lot more unique and well-paced, the characters are more fleshed out, and so on.

If you read the book you’ll get more context and everything starts to make sense, lol i was so confused just watching the animated version. I think the drama adaptation does a good job in telling the story imo, but if you like visuals and stuff the animated version is the way to go.

Honestly the emotions I felt at so many points in the story were incredible.

An unforgettable summer honestly. I remember crying so hard when I first read the golden core reveal, it’s so unexpected and hurts so much. But yeah, I’m just happy the fandom hasn’t died

Well, this made me finally watch the third season of the donghua and because of that I've been crying almost non-stop for like 8h (which is how long it took me to watch it). So... Thanks? I didn't think I was ready for it all after reading the novel and watching CQL at least like 5 times each in the past two-to-three years, but apparently I fit right in with the rest of the MXTX fandom because pain WILL NOT drive me away. It might scare me, though, so it's a good thing that most of us are suckers for taking some comfort and fluff with our pain

although I am completely in love with all the adaptions of mxtx works, I will always stand by the novels being my absolute favourite! they are pure gold and I will not say how many times I have reread all of her novels as I am definite it is a very unhealthy amount (also since hob is longer than the bible ahah.) Also, a massive bonus is that there is no censorship obviously.
