- I first set foot at the bottom of Mt Kinabalu when I was 9 years old. I remember looking up feeling completely awestruck and I told myself that one day, one fine day, I would climb the highest mountain in South East Asia. That day has finally came, where the purpose of this climb was more than just a gift for myself for New Year - but for my loved ones and in memory of the innocent lives who have perished during the earthquake on June 5th, 2015.
As a Sarawakian, I would hope for everyone to climb Mt Kinabalu atleast once and to support our local tourism industry in Borneo. The trails can be quite challenging but it's worth every single step as the views and trails are breathtakingly beautiful.

I love your video! I watched it before I climbed the mountain and now I'm watching it after. Strange watching it when it's all much more familiar.. I stayed in the same room and everything. The summit is so stunning! I really want to go back there but I guess one of the reasons it's so special is its inaccessibility.

Hi! How was weather in January? I keep reading its very wet and that might make trails muddy, slippery and not practicable. But your video seems to show otherwise. Also how cold is it at the top? Thanks

Get the head mount! Though you could only use it after the sun rises since you'd be using head torch, but you get to capture the amazing view as you descend Mt Kinabalu :)
how do you wear a head mount while wearing head torch and great video
travel with ayyub We only used our head mounts after the sun rises, we didn't capture much at night, other than during short breaks. Thank you, I appreciate it a lot! ❤️

Usually people would avoid end of the year (Nov-Jan) since it's rainy season but I went in January, it was fine. Mid year would be great I suppose.
