@@hachiroku0086 not really, you can't just ignore stability issues by saying 'its a model', that kinda suggests its normal for models to be this fragile, while its not
I literally just finished building this kit a week ago. It definitely feels like a kit where the whole is less than the sum of its parts. Each limb, weapon, and accessory is at least good, usually great individually. But when it all comes together, the flaws really compound and make it kind of a headache to deal with A couple of things, the big beam cannon attaches to the arm the same way the shield does, the red elbow shield emitter plugs into the down pointing ...block thingy. Also, for the shield, swap which way the handle is attached on the shield, so instead of going behind the hand, it comes in front (dis-assemble it and just flip the handle 180) and that makes that accessory a bit more secure, and less prone to dropping off
Glad that there is finally a review of this thing! It's my favorite Gundam of all time, and I've been waiting on building mine until I am confident in my skills to do it justice, got the expansion as well.
I just finished this kit myself the other day. Your review was spot on. It looks great but it is very finicky especially with all of the optional parts attached. You try to fix one, another falls off. The legs & crotch armor fell off constantly for me. I'm glad I got it but I wouldn't want to build it again.
such an underrated gundam brick design. for these, you got your fazz, your ex-s, your thunderbolt full armor, but this fully weaponized version of the victory is super cool too. the gold is a really nice touch too
I love the Victory Gundam designs and this kit looks beautiful. Hope down the line Bandai will release more Victory kits. I think I like the V2 with the yellow and the assult being more gold to make it pop more on the kit.
as for the issue of the limited hips and waist articulation I blame them for staying true to how it transforms in the anime as possible which does not translate well into real life which is unlike the ZZ Gundam and the Impulse Gundam.
After more than a year in backorder I finally got this one. It's my last gundam I'm buying. Got 5 HG kits waiting and about 10 MG kits waiting. Only problem is I don't have the space to put them on display :/
i just finish this late last night, spend 30 mins putting it in this static pose and dont wanna move it anymore haha like you said, looks cool, a pain to play with it.
You can attach the back of the arm to the massive cannon. I have the kit myself and indeed it looks amazing, but I'm afraid to touch it because things will fall off.
My biggest complaint about this kit is the head. It's proportionate to the V2 body, but once you put all the armor on it beefs up the body quite a bit and the head looks too small in proportion. Apart from that I thought the build process was really confusing, there were several steps where I felt like I didn't understand what they want me to do. BUT in the end it's one of my favourite kits just because of how awesome it looks!
I love these intro/box reveals. They always make me chuckle a bit. This review helped me decide not to get this kit. I was on the fence and knew they changed some thing to help make it better but it seems like it’s not that much better. It looks nice for sure but not worth the hassle for someone like me. If I had time to fix everything I definitely would snag it though.
The V2 Assault Buster HGUC is waiting to be build since month. Now I'm a little bit scared because you say that the Gundam Victory is smaller then common Gundam. Wow...I hope I will not be mad if all those partes are too tiny. I already build (and improved) Gundam F91 in hguc and it was sooooo tiny...
I think you mentioned this in your original review, but it bothers me that there is a gap between the blue and golden pieces of the Core Fighter on the chest.
Damn, i bought the expansion parts and gundam separate because it was cheaper. I really wanted that gold plated look, but it should be easy enough to just paint it on.
My brother got the 1/144 scale kit of this and I've really wanted an mg scale one and now I know there is one, buying it immediately lol. And nope they want 150.00 or more little too much for me.
Sorry if I missed it, but are there any shared parts between the Assault & Buster? In other words, I have a standard v2 kit, if I got this kit, could I build both the Assault and the Buster seeing as I have two bodies or are there parts exclusive to this kit which are used in both forms. And either/or situation.
I believe you should be able to separate them as you’re suggesting. You may try asking in a couple Facebook groups or Reddit or something to be sure but I would be surprised if it didn’t work
@@ZakuAurelius Thank you! I realize it is an old video and you may not remember the kit or even have access to it. The original is so terrible that I don't want to go in on this add-on so I gotta justify it to myself and getting two improved kits out of this purchase might do it.
@@bunnyfreakz I mean mgex unicorn is good but personally I don't think it's as good as the ka Sazabi. Though I would say that it is neck to neck with the Ka Nu
I had just recently watched your review of the HGUC last week without knowing this was coming up. I absolutely love the design but it's a shame it's so finicky. I love reposing my kits every other month or so, so this wouldn't be in that camp. But also, I don't like having plastic hand grenades explode if they hit the ground from an accidental fall. I already have the Unicorn for that...
I pre-ordered the Add-on kit and bought a regular V2 and honestly the frame improvements do help with the stability of the kit. My only complaints are that I wish there was a way to attach the shield on the back of the arm instead of the side only, and that even with the cannon plugged into the shield emitters, it's still not a very solid connection. I chocked that up to being my own kit though. Really wish the Assault Buster kit came with better hands. This kit is most definitely a display piece first and foremost, but it really does look fantastic but I dread needing to dust mine off because that cannon is right pain.
Lol I was just thinking wether I should get this thing or not so awesome that you have a (awesome) review out now Edit: I already have the normal mg v2 so that's why, but I think I'll get it so I can have v2 Transformed and v2ab in MS mode

Yep, the original V2 Ver. Ka was one of the reasons why I avoid some of the older Ver. Ka kits. Stupid over-engineering that just fucks up the kits stability & posability, parts falling off if you so much breathe on it & being a generally nightmarish hand grenade. A shame too because I LOVE the V2, it's one badass UC suit. This one seems to be better but given the insane price point nowadays due to rarity & P-Bandai, I feel like I might as well just get the HGUC instead.
The number one kit I wish had a standard release. Quite possibly the coolest looking Gunpla kit ever made.

How does the transformation work in the anime?
Does the core fighter connect to one of the flyers and the other flyer is just useless?
The transformation is stupidly elaborate. Yup, and then it kamikaze'd a battleship with wheels and got run over for its troubles.
