@@TheKrowSama But really tho, I dont think there was a way for Bandai to put in waist articulation at the time without turning it into a disassembling RG. On the HG its articulation is pretty normal for todays standards (meaning it poses quite well) simply because it didnt have any of the transforming features. Also, yeah pretty much everyone knows the Wing's transformation is fugly as hell from below, even the Wing fanboys out there knowit.
My opinion for me I think Bandai should done something where they let you choose between making the victory transformable or making it a solid mg like any other mg.
definitely perfect in a sense that it lives up to it's ambition of capturing all the mechanics and transformations of the victory in 1/100 back in 2009. Especially as a plastic kit instead of something like a metal build. Would've been nice if liberties were taken with how the waist skirt was set up so they could squeeze a waist joint in there :p
I guess the reason why people call it as 'perfect kit' back then, was to trick the scalpers/resellers. Just like HG Tristan. There's a channel named Gamore that talk about this case, IIRC, he talk about it in his Gundam Alex video
The MG Victory Dash is one of those kits that slowly grew on me because of the accessories. You could also tighten joints for stability and I found that the posing was useable. It’s a shame it sacrificed so much for a transformation gimmick that doesn’t really looks all that great IMO. This is one of those cases where I feel the the HG would be a better kit if you wanted possibility and stability.
Hm. Probably the fairest Vic Ver Ka review ive seen. And I can certainly respect not caring for the transformation, its.. an acquired taste, to say the least.
3:15- Hoh boy, did musings of price not age well at all. IMO the Victory comes just okay out of the box, but when painted, lined, decalled with water slides and flatcoated this thing becomes a true work of art. I was amazed at how much care went into how transforming the core fighter, when transformed carefully, wouldn't scratch the paint job I gave it.
Kinda want to rebuild this kit. It was really my first super finicky model. But over the years I've dealt with kits just as bad and learned how to work with them so after all the experience I want to try again. I actually built the V2 before this and have never had an issue with it so that might also explain my less then steller opinions on this one
Excellent review, great opening! This Victory is like Impulse: Cool while it’s a Mobile suit, fucking stupid looking in fighter modes. Surprised it has ball and socket hips. I would probably paint and build it with fuck intention of cementing a lot of it together
How was the side split test bro? I’m so into the simplistic design of victory gundam, but I’m really hesitant on getting it because of that balljoint type connection in the crotch.
The MG's edge is the parts separation and while the HG V, Dash, V2 and V2 Assault Buster have more articulation I lost interest in the 1/144 line. I guess the consolation I get for buying the V2 Ver Ka. Is in the anime the V and V2 has not really made any waist movements... the MG pretty much can capture that :). Also the V2 Assault Buster Expansion Kit has some parts upgrade for the V2 but still doesn't do much. These Ver. Ka. Victories are just for the looks.. but I LOVE THEM ALL :).
What I find funny is people used to defend the smaller mobile suits as "Technology always gets smaller! look at phones!" Yeah, look at them. Now Samsung and phones are bigger than ever! The RTX 3090 is a gigantic graphics card, Bigger = BETTER REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
I would get this MG in a heartbeat if it only cost $30. Unfortunately nobody carries it except eBay scalpers so starting price is about $90. I got the V2 instead. The V2 is also decent but fussy in the same way that older RGs are. They don’t invite a lot of posing because it always feels like something is going to come apart. I would have sacrificed transformation for the sake of sturdiness and posability. At least the V2’s core block fighter does a much better job of hiding the head.
@@TheLVJ Bandai made RG Impulse, the suit that has very similar transformation gimmick as Victory. While mobile suits in U.C. 153 are much smaller than the ones in Seed Destiny, RG Victory is never out of possibility.
@@manat31790 I want to agree, but the Impulse's flyers were just RX-78-2 components doing calisthenics. The Victory units have fairly involved conversions, especially when you factor their size.

I just recently bought the Core Booster/V Dash parts and I love the build even if it’s just the chest of the Victory. The only problem now is trying not to break the bank trying to get the full Victory kit now 😅.
I'mma be real, I don't like most of the gundam animes. Victory was one of my least favourites, seeing as I couldn't even get through the first episode. You would expect to see the events of what happened to that town actually play out, but no. It jumps right in to "main character tries to steal an enemy suit and fails". Hell, he couldn't even pilot it that well. And then he gets into the victory gundam and all of the sudden "whoop dee doo, I'm an ace pilot." Idc that you're a newtype, noone should learn THAT fast.
Crow: Zeta is pretty simplistic
The waist: Bruhhhh
Lol I need my damn waist articulation

For an old kit, this can still pull off some pretty good poses. But yeah, it could've been better. Especially with the waist swivel.
Love that you're trying new things with your skits! I like them.

Well it looks a thousand times better than the Impulse when transformed... and to think that suit came about a decade later irl
Krow: zeta 2.0 came years before it and it’s quite simple
Me: ah yes definitely is simple it’s not like the MP-44 transformation
MP44....oh God. The nightmare brought to life.
Interesting review, I enjoyed the build thoroughly but the final product was so lacking for me.
I wish it could get MG 2.0 treatment

Nice review on an old school kit!
Omg, is 11 years old now?
I’m surprised there’s no RGs from Mobile Suit Victory Gundam.

Late UC Gundams are cool
Is there any place to watch victory gundam or do you have to get a dvd or blu ray to watch it. Does it even have a dub?
Are you gonna do the V2 next ?

the ab armor version fix a lot of problem
looks on amazon to see current price...$121.
Where can i order this MG
if im getting this kit ill glue the transforming body
