Back in the early 90's ATSF was willing to let Espee, and UP take the risk on stax, while they hauled pig trailers, cuz they knew if it worked, they had the best LA, Chicago route, and JB Hunt knew it too.
That Z train at East Emporia looks like it came from Willowsprings yard in Illinois. Stacks originated from Corwith then picks up the UPS trailers at Willowsprings.
Nice clean running and layout prep in paint. Good to see someone else use 3/4" plywood as the base. Unless you are on Styrofoam, 3/4 is the best way to go! Are you guys planning more trackwork or just heading into scenery? tracksidemike and I are part of a club in Ontario Canada. CN Silver Creek Sub. CTC has just been completed, 95% of trackwork and we are starting on painting. It's very exciting to see the layout come to life. check out the clubs vids!! Cheers! Earl
Those vertical tri-color signals dont quite fit the time frame of all that erli 90's experimental stax n such. Those steam era target lites were sill faithfully doing their jobs. They didnt see the walls closing in aroud them.
I'm a lady steam engine fanatic. I can't sit through long freight trains hauled by stinky diesels, I'm sorry to say. The way to win me over is to run steam engines with passenger trains.
Beyond WOW.

I’d give the guy who built the SF 640 30 days on the street for putting all the empties on the head end!!

Welp I won’t be winning you over
Then look for steam model trains.
@@joec6804 No thank you I like my Diesels better
@@RailfanTerry I am agreeing with you. That was for the person's complaint. Love the layout so far.
Those empty TFC flats need to be behind those loads
Just like the real ones, They do it
