that solo made my jaw drop, made my skin clear, watered my crops and resurrected my dead hamster
that's a comment and a fuckin half! congratulations, you have been promoted to CEO of banter!
🙌🙌
I couldn't have said it better!! You're my soul sister Sarah! :)
"watered my crops" AHAHAHAHAAH
😆😆😆Top comment for the week!!
Everyone: Learns wild blue solo
JM: “Let me make this more complicated for you guys”
I don't understand the need to learn live solos that are improvised in the first place. Just play your own.
John was schooled by one of the best music teacher ,Tomo Fujita!!!
That’s the problem with cover song guitar players… wanting to sound like someone else note for note. Be your own self, stop trying to be someone else
@@lionofnaples to learn the technique bro let’s see you play anything close my guy would love to see it
@@lionofnaples bring it then
The best song of the Sob Rock album.
Til the right one comes exists
That was sick dude!👍👍👍
have you heard NEW LIGHT?!!!
@@mariah1894 :Is the New Light from John also?
@@mariah1894 For sure, also a masterpiece
Whoever engineered and mastered the sound here, I salute you.
yeah it sounds perfect.
Having the right sound recording equipments make engineering and mastering work easy to achieve quality life recording sound.
Couldn’t agree more
Honestly! The unsung heroes
This Song is John Mayers Best makes him sound in different way .
John, you're prolly never gonna see this, but you really helped me get through some tough times dude. I love you man, genuinely
Arte pura e seus efeitos 😍
Now he gon see it haha, good for you buddy, hope life treats you well
^(2)
Yes yes 👍 John will surely see this cuz he loves his fans so much! He’s the best! Such a sweet and adorable guy! Omg.. I just can’t get enough of him! lol 😂👍🥂🌠🌠🌠❤️💋💋
Same. Living alone with no girlfriend at the time. Luv ya J.M.
The solo with this one! He literally resurrected that PRS.
@just do it what does that video have to do with this?
the tone and phrasing of the one starting at 2:46 and the outro is really sweet. I still think he sounded better on his fenders during his Heavier Things / Continuum / trio era but this was mighty close.
the guitar never died
@@liveatminkys wow, to be such a critic you must be an amazing musician yourself... What hit songs do you have?
@@liveatminkys I'd really love listen to a hit song of yours..
Oh wait,
There's none..
Go be a good lad and get your soggy wet ego rag lame ass to music school and practice some more,
Get back to us when you have at least a hit song in your pocket..
i love how his "strange" little dance moves aren't just random, but actually help him keep very specific rhythm through certain transitions between music or vocal melody...
I’m telling ya. It works
Gotta groove, man! I’ve noticed that musicians will move their hips around and dance to keep in time instead of tapping to the beat which I find really cool. Thanks for pointing this out!
Killer solo.
We're blessed to be alive when this cat was. His playing and singing is like soul food.
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You can feel his passion for music in every word and note he is playing. Its just perfect!
His passion is first, for love, then comes through the guitar. Best guitarist on the planet now.
@@richmiglio Yay! Theres people out there that still know GOOD music and a TALENTED artist when they see one! :) Your comment made my day!
This was my favorite song off the new album, I've heard it dozens of times and I still love every second!
X2
I like wild blue, last train home and why u no luv me
Same😂
Me to
Me too
John Mayer is like a mix of SRV, Clapton, Hendrix, JJ Cale, Garcia, Knopfler, BB. King, all in one. He inspires me to keep playing and keep improving! 🙂
Don’t forget Santana
Buddy guy tòo just had to show respect 🙏
The way he even does the up pick like SRV use to do at 3:38 he channels all of these guitar greats in this song
I close my eyes and hear JJ Cale!! Amazing!!!
Also Robert Cray!
A big applause to his band. There's been a long time since I saw a so well put together band, such talented musicians.
That solo gave me actual chills, crazy how he can make the guitar sing 🤯
Ya pretty much a lost skill now a days … current generation of guitarist are shit …
can we all agree that john is one of the best musicians ever
Hell YES! He IS the best, he’s a musical genius! I would love to understand his thought process.
It's art. Not a competition.
Love JM, but no. Nobody is.
well that’s why he was welcomed with open arms by Dead & Company….real recognizes real
He's one of my favorite contemporary musicians that's for sure....💎
As a member of the metal-head community, I would like to formally apologize for hating on this dude in the past. I see now that he feels every single note down to his bone. He's truly one of the great guitarists. Not every body has to sound like Dimebag to be great. Of course, nobody really sounds quite like Dime, but lots of the people I thought were awesome tried to...
People may not like the blues or Mayer's melding of jam band, blues, pop and folk. But to deny his ability to play almost any style flawlessly and his incredible feel and monster right hand, is just plain blind bias ignorance.
Apology accepted. It takes a man and a self-aware musician to see the error in one’s ways.
No offense but metal is simply music gibberish. You can't compare a gibberish note-player to a blues/rock guitarist.
@@John-mj1kk No offense, but you're not making any sense
@Lucas bro sounds like you need to have the same realisation the original commenter had. It's almost completely nonsensical to criticize music from an objective point of view, especially calling a whole genre gibberish. There's no such thing as bad music, only music you don't personally like.
I love how the lyrics very slowly expose that the song is about loss, and the subject of "You" is only brought up about a minute into it after spending time describing the color of loneliness. As the lyrics continue, we learn he has lost someone and now dwells in this color on a bed of grey, and the idea of "finding oneself" or "letting you go" takes on new meaning. He clearly misses the person but finds a beauty in the depths of this wild blue of loneliness.
and in many ways feels like a sequel to New Light, who's lovelorn protagonist is wild for a woman he has never met but only chats with on phone apps daily but is always left hanging.
The intro to Wild Blue does pick up seamlessly from the outro to New Light.
Recognized as one of the modern masters of the guitar.
This has so much of a Dire Straits Vibe ! Love it !
Ya nailed it
And then transitioned into Carlos Santana 😋
I was just thinking the same thing with the solo
And JJ Cale
Exactly what I was thinking. Mark Knopfler at the first part of that song.
I'm a drummer who usually doesn't care for guitar solos, but this one is just an absolute pleasure to listen to.. What a masterpiece
The bloke has it all, looks talent money success and all that's missing is a wife and three kids. Go for it John. The best riff of all. Madley jealous really.
Waiting for the 7 minute solo of this song
Need a longer solo version of this..
@its fine we don't want to hear terrorism. you got this now?
No.
His solos are exactly the lenght he means them to be.
Would be nice if he makes a whole album out of this solo
@@liveatminkys why is it so?
Don’t worry. He’s saving himself for the live shows.
Unbelievably well arranged. These are true pros. Influences of Dire Straights and Santana both in this performance but JM gives it his signature style.
Took me longer than it should have to realise the genius of this man. The playing here is mesmeric but his lyrics over the years are astonishing. He’s deeply under appreciated
You know he’s gonna go crazy on this solo during the tour. I can’t wait! March 11th, MGM Arena in Vegas.
Heck yea! I’m going too and can’t wait. I will be the one singing every word to every song. He’s a genius!
I got front row in DC!
Yeah I totally can't wait to show my papers like a good little commie!
@@Enarjay7891 You must make good money, I got 3d row in Charlotte. Right in the middle, and it cost me a pretty penny
Seeing him at the MGM on the 11th then the Forum the 13th!!!!
"You will never know the unlikely beauty of letting you go"
JM
That solo at the very end does something for my spirit man.
Can't wait to hear his live versions (new unrecognizable intro, extended solo, outro), just unique in comparison to what musicians be like today.
Man, imagine THIS outro live with no time restrictions.
Sob Rock tour - my body is ready.
The solo we've all been waiting for
This is probably the best guitar solo we have heard since the '90s. Thank you!
Has that Knopfler vibe and Dire Straits sound, it's magic.
They should've collaborate for this song definitely.
What a band, man! Everyone in this group is awesome
John Mayer keeps music alive
The solo is amazing!! The string bend and slide is insane.
The solo was stunning
He felt every note
I love it
3:26 Dude that was slick!
Never seen anyone switch from high to lower notes like that...
Johnny always up for a surprise, favorite guitar player ever 💚
Its so slick, it reminds me of SRV, which is no surprise that John is doing it (beautifully)
I liked it when he started playing _Beat It_
You should check out David gilmour of Pink Floyd he is one of the best if the best in my opinion at switching from those high to lower tones
Been a Mayer fan for 20 yrs. He's just such a complete performer
Beautiful song ❤
agreed

i hope this generation can recognize this living legend, a true musicion, guitar hero. super talented
Great vibe to this song. Easy to forget that underneath the 'pop fluff' stuff, John is genuinely a formidable musician. I don't particularly 'love' everything he does, but I respect the hell out of him and, as a guitarist he has moments of sheer brilliance. His musical genius shines through his guitar playing and songwriting. More power to him! This was smooth, subtle but moving and effective. ✌😎
At the risk of sounding a bit blunt, Mayer's catalog of work overall doesn't tend to make him out to be a "pop fluff" kinda guy. His first major album release (not counting his EP) was certainly more pop focused but everything after that (seven entire albums) has moved more in other directions.
I guess what I am saying here is that we are well past the point where it is easy to forget that he is a formidable musician.
I actually thought Room for Squares was less poppy than the subsequent albums... I'd be honored if some old-school JM fans would take a quick listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of CLARITY
ua-cam.com/video/h-x2vHfpQ50/v-deo.html and LOVE SOON on my YT channel in tribute to the boss. Live acoustic with no backing tracks. Peace out & stay safe.
@@startrekmike Maybe you're right man, there are a couple of songs of his that I can't help but associate with him, in a. 'Why u do dis?!' type way. To be fair, you could definitely argue that that's more on me than it is on John. 😂 Either way the compliment stands 😜✌
@@startrekmike thanks for saying that. I try to explain that to folks but they don’t really seem to understand that. Nor do they actually listen to anything past contiuum. Or before it for that matter.
Cannot wait to hear that extended solo outro on the road.
Hi sweet Fan! I wanna take this time out to say thank you for your love and support you guys are so incredibly God bless you... Keep on💯
He has crushed so many awesome solos touring with dead and company. The solo in this song is no exception. However I really enjoy his rhythmic guitar during the verses as you can really hear Bob Weir’s influence on John Meyer
Hi sweet Fan! I wanna take this time out to say thank you for your love and support you guys are so incredibly God bless you... Keep on💯
This song put a lot of peace in my heart after a tough spiritual night. Buying tickets for April in Austin. Just great music for my life right now. 🤍🙏🕊
John....you're so amazing....salute from indonesia ( alexander simanjuntak)..🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The reference to "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac is just awesome. Thanks for everything, John.
Really went speechless towards the end. What a tone, what a beautiful solo, one can really feel the passion behind it.
Pure genius!
Anyone else got this on replay while working from home? Great song John! Keep on making great music.
3:23 “eric clapton knows i steal his stuff and he is ok with it” - john mayer when you can hit the lick like that, steal away!!🔥🔥🤘
His voice is just THAT amazing!
Tbh it’s a little underwhelming.
👋🇷🇺 His voice is soft and velvety.
Hi sweet Fan! I wanna take this time out to say thank you for your love and support you guys are so incredibly God bless you... Keep on💯
He found his sweet spot musically and vocally. Just damn perfect tone for the music he wants to play.
@John Mayera whole 4 subscribers. LMAO is it true in India you have to sh!t on the beach because there is no public restrooms?
Some cool details in this amazing solo. At 03:01 I love how he keeps repeating the idea more times that we usually hear, going into that lower register in the final iteration, so exciting.. at 3:23 you get that divine high, then a few notes after this surprisingly LARGE jump down. Superb stuff!!
He so deserving of every dollar he’s made.
Glad to hear something so good in 2023,not much music like yours left!!
It’s always a good day when there’s a new John video
What’s so great about this outro solo is it’s improv mostly. He does it different each time except the break down…🔥
I think this is the smoothest guitar work I've heard, pure bliss and then he goes and hits the afterburners in the last solo. Absolutely brilliant.
Probably one of the few i can still listen to as i get older. Them old rap, rnb, rock, country, out of country, 99.5% out the door.
Estas canciones de ritmo alegre y letra triste... No sé si bailar o llorar 🤣
🤣 Great point!
You can do both.
I'm glad there's still popula music with actual instruments and people writing their own music. He's one hell of a guitar player. This is a welcome break from all the recipe mumbling, autotune and sprinkler beats.
He's genius. This music rifted and moved my soul to a new place.
5ty
I could watch & Listen to John Mayer all day long. Love this song.
I think he just went down in history as one of the great pop, jazz, guitarist musicians!
Great to see John is doing his best playing yet these days!
I keep listening to this version. Love it
I love watching him make that guitar talk and his voice beautiful he’s easy on the eye 😊
Awww🥰 I appreciate your kindness beloved🌹 hope you won't stop listening to my music
That clean guitar sound, wow.
What a guitar playing! Everything in this song is awesome! After knee surgery, I survived his concert in Hong Kong in 2019 on one leg :)
this man, i literally have no words i wanna cry
Wild Blue, deepering me than I ever knew, :D Great Song
can't wait to watch him to play this live ❤
Feels nice to see an indian here 🥱

@John Mayer lol ok imposter who joined a few days ago and has 2 subscribers
Love Wild Blue, could sit and watch/listen to that solo for hours!
Finally a live version of Wild Blue! I was awaiting this and that final solo was amazing. Brilliant stuff!
Giving me vibes to when he first started. That and a little Eric Clapton. I like it! So calming and such a great guitar solo! I feel like seeing him live again! 💛
I really appreciate your support and love ❤️, Thank you so much.
I've listened to this song Every. Single. Day. since it's release on 7/16. I didn't think I could love this song any more than I already do...then I see/hear this. He takes this already amazing tune to a whole other level. The guitar solo is stellar. Mayer is a freaking music genius. #JMF4L
Quit making false accounts and impersonating John you loser! smh
Hi sweet Fan! I wanna take this time out to say thank you for your love and support you guys are so incredibly God bless you... Keep on💯
Surprised he didn't use a blue colorway PRS for this one.
That solo was killer though.
I like the grey but that Silversky Lunar Ice or Nebula would have been cool
The vocal and Rythm has the elements of Mark Knofler n Chris Rea. Solo has the elements of Mark Knofler, Eric Clapton, Santana, BB King and JJ Cale
This version is so much better than the album version... masterpiece!
this is some well played music. Nowadays, writing and performing this way is rare for 2 reasons: 1 it's not strictly required by the mainstream market, and 2 it's a bet, with all this charming and mature guitar you can upset younger listeners who are also those who buy most of the music (I guess). So well done and well done!
I am so proud of myself about the fact that I have great taste in music. Thnks a million John, a true masterpiece.
Pat yourself on the back mate
He’s a blessing in the music world. Truly love and admire how talented he is. We blessed to witness how talented this man is. Legendary
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you.
Wow, this is incredible, just pure gold!!! I love the Dire Straits - and while on the studio Version John M. nailed Mark Knopflerˋs Playing / Tone, this is so much more: The Stage, his Voice, an chrystal-clear soundmix (and very good Cam-Work (!)) and this two solos… in short: the best Live-Performance i‘ve seen in recent Years.. Thanks!!!
Is it just me that everytime i hear the first notes of the John's songs i get the kilig feeling or the butterflies in the stomach they say. Hahahaha ohhhhh i love himm and his voice tooo 🖤
u aint alone. i always get kiligged too
I thought it was just me lol
Yup yupp
Yissss. Now, give us silver sky with nitro or matching headstock.... love you man
They already released the Silver Sky with nitro.
@@44dean44 which one?
@@Gaslight.Guitar All colours I think. They updated it since 2020. The first Silver Sky with nitro is the one John use most of the time on tour. Moc Sand Satin.
@@44dean44 The guitar he's using is the new roxy pink. Silver sky uses poly base, acrylic urethane top coat for body and nitro finish on the neck where it matters.

Letra:
Never seen the sun before
Lyin' on the ocean floor
I'm walkin' through the wilderness
And livin' off the loneliness
Oh wild blue, deeper than I ever knew
Wild blue on a bed of grey
Oh baby, what a wild blue
I found myself when I lost you
All the tears I meant to cry
Dance across the evening sky
And in my sorrow I can see
That missin' you belongs to me
Oh wild blue, deeper than I ever knew
Wild blue on a bed of grey
Oh baby, what a wild blue
I found myself when I lost you
Wild blue, deeper than I ever knew
It's a wild blue since you went away
Oh baby, what a wild blue
I found myself when I lost you
And you'll never know
The unlikely beauty in letting you go

If I can get new Knopfler-retro sounds in the 21st century, I don't much care which talented musician they come from. Mayer drips talent.
