Ikr…
Ikr just sad
And he wants cooler temps, like y’all defeated the point. Wouldn’t it be funny if he regenned during the drag race
I know right? Seems like a waste! Shoulda kept it stock and took it to Banks Power!
Probably just for tv and legal purposes
589 hp and 1000lbft. A simple delete, custom tune, and a cold air intake, and a performance fuel pump and that thing would of made that power.
Mean while at the power block shop/studio, they replaced everything else n left that shit alone. Lol
@@johndenver9368 had too. Just look at the trouble Diesel Brothers are in right now.
@@SGTJDerek this is a good point.
Yeah, but that’s what everybody does… I mean EVERYBODY! I got a little TDI with a stage 3 cam valves & springs w/ turbo and it sounds more nasty than these trucks. I mean that car is angry AF! Jus waiting to get to the rotating assembly and go even bigger turbo & fuel…. Would be cooler if it was American as the performance parts are a lot more expensive
“Would of” is not correct. Would have of would’ve.
Not complaining, just noting that this might be the highest dollar per horsepower build ever on this channel
When you said “change directions mid build” did you mean “mid build, the lawyers got involved”? 😢
Lawyers mean you can't go ahead with anything
The epa dry raping aftermarket diesel companies for "emissions defeating"
Screw EPA.
@@GreatLakesLogger agreed, I have a coal rolling 4bt thunderbird on my channel and many other diesels...
@@AndyFromm I'll be honest I don't like coal rolling either........ Sorry
You CLOWNS dropped over 30 grand for those results? Could buy an lb7 and build it for less money and get 800hp
I can confirm my lb7 has around 12 into motor and trans and I'm makeing around 500
Ya lawyers epaulets must of butted in..
Congratulations...all that work and you can almost outrun a stock Honda Civic. Hahaha
That’s cause they kept stock exhaust. Don’t want to get chased after by the epa. They built the motor for 1000hp and then realized dpf couldn’t handle it and they couldn’t delete it. Trucks running at like 580hp they said.
My completely stock l5p Duramax will run that
Clean Diesel Tuner and looks very expensive and not very exciting so many parts so many thousands of dollars to get less than 600 hp would be very disappointing
600hp should be around 1200 lb ft torque.
A fun daily driver for a 6-7000lb truck.. Definitely not disappointing. Diesels are expensive, this is common knowledge so...
Have you driven a 600hp lml to justify making suck a statement.
Jason Heinrich ya this guy don’t know what he’s taking about
Jason Heinrich I had a 6.4 powerstroke. I deleted it and tuned it. Very inexpensive hardly any parts. Dynod 567, 985 at 30psi. On the street it would run 42psi. 8000lb truck. It was lots of fun. I’m saying keeping the emissions intact takes away a lot of fun. They were shooting for a thousand and got less than 600. That’s a lot of money for it a lot of return. If it was my truck I’d delete it as soon as the cameras were turned off lol
Tyler Proud, a 6.4L. Yikes, there is your problem
GGW my biggest problem was burning tires off it.
The balancer on the front of the engine looks like it's not on straight
Theres a weird weight looking think on top
@Domino it is an illusion
Looked like it was wobbly to me
It's a balance weight because the engine is externally balanced. It reduces harmful harmonics in the bottom end of the engine. It keeps the engine from destroying the main bearings.
Yeah, noticed that.😄
The next owner on that truck will take off the emissions off and have a durable rocket ship!!
All I can say is not much good ever comes from a registered mail!!
Dammit that truck will be better but we won’t see!!😭
i am the next owner. can say it has some weight loss now

Nice!! Post some vids!! Dang it’s sweet!!
Nick at Duramax Tuner is awesome. I don't know if he still does it but a one year subscription for $300-500 got you all of the tunes he has written for all generations of the Duramax. I went from 16.0 with my bolt ons to 14.2 with just his tune on a LLY. And I still got 18-22 mpg in town with his tune. This truck's numbers aren't an accurate depiction of how fast his "race" tunes are or how economical his MPG tunes are, or how good his damn tow tunes are allowing the stock VGT to act like a Jake Brake helping slow the truck and it's load.
I had a bagged 2005 3500 Duramax with a turbo back exhaust, Banks intercooler tubing with the stock intercooler, LBZ mouthpiece that I ported myself, a couple 90° 4" couplers 4" pipe and K&N filter on the end of a tune, Duramax Tuner's 450 whp tune using EFI Live and consistently went 14.2 at 97mph back in 2011 in Alabama in the hottest part of summer. With a built transmission and lift pump I would have safely run DT's 600 whp tune and easily run mid to low 13s. 8.9 in the 1/8th is a 13.95 roughly in the 1/4 so that's not too bad keeping all the emissions. Now ditch all of it, run a really hot tune and run deep in the 12s.
Cool to see more Diesel episodes , hopefully there is more in the future . =)
Defund the epa!

Lt's personal UA-cam is pretty cool
@Big Country bro richard rawlings is far from a Cajun more like a DFW METROSEXUAL
@Big Country Richard Rawlings is not on the level of my wife even with automotive knowledge. Even my children understand if you sleep at the light for half to three quarters of a second but ET the car you're racing by three tenths you still lose. Richard is an idiot.
That dudes accent is like Jack Sparrow trying to be British
It honestly doesn’t make any sense 😂
*_Throwing away thousands of dollars to achieve absolutely nothing WOW you're total winners!!!_*
Needs one of those exhaust bypass kits installed before the DPF so you can switch between DPF or FUN/loud mode.
You guys spent well north of $15K on that build just to make numbers a stock lml could make with basic bolt-ons and a tune. Yay emissions 😐
Lt. King of underperformance. The last dueamax and the cummins now this one.
At least they posted the video after the puny 1/8th mile.
Should've went full bro dozer.
All these comments about the time slip and the power level they SHOULD be at. If you watch the beginning of the build, the parts used COULD handle more but you wouldn't pass Emissions in any way, shape or form. And that alone is an issue for a TV Show. Just look at The Diesel Brothers. How much hot water are they in right now? EPA has dropped the hammer on Tuners as well. BUT, just as we saw in the '80's, technology will catch up and the limiting factor, DPF, will eventually get better as well. It'll take a Hot Rodder in the vain of Gale Banks to do it but it'll get there. He is such a Geek he's already miles ahead of everyone else. Including the Factories.
I would never have you build my diesel. Tuning should have gotten you at that power level with minor bolt ons
I knew the second I saw Nick this truck was going to get a great tune!
Those guys are the GOATs
I see what y’all did 👌🏼👌🏼 genius
NO WHERE NEAR enough bang for the buck in this build.
Very cool 3 video segment on diesel. We need more episodes like this
Not since the yellow iroc build on the other show...the look of disappointment on their faces was so noticeable!!
20:35 that sure doesn't look like 900tq
Diesels are so dumb. Unless they have about 150LBS of boost
Og Bqze Huh?
I noticed while you were trying to start the engine that the harmonic balancer was spinning all crooked.
All that work on the engine just to make that power the stock components could easily handle no problem because they wanted to keep the emissions systems in tact!!!....i deleted everything on my 06 lbz and added a cold air intake system, straight pipe exhaust, ppe downpipe, egr deleted exhaust turbo pipe and with a $75 used holley flashpaq tuner oh and 500k miles on it and is very fast for a 8k pound truck
Hey I got an idea! Let's waste 6 months of our lives and thousands of dollars to build a duramax engine capable of 1,000hp, only we wont push it past 600 because of emissions restrictions.
C'Mon guys you could've hit those times with basic upgrades. I've seen gm diesels hit similar times on a tune. If you're worried about the emissions whyd you build this.
This is awesome! Glad you guys were able to pair up with calibrated power!
After all that build time I’d be a little disappointment in that 8th mile run. But it’s not my truck- it’s yours. Just hope it’s all you wanted and more. 👌🇺🇸💕
Grab you a pair of Knipex Pliers Wrench. The 7”,10”,12” pairs. Also a few pairs of Knipex Cobras in 7” and 10”.
You’ll never come across a pipe or a nut you can’t take off again. You’ll never buy Channel Locks or a crescent wrench again either. I promise you- you’ll love these tools that much.
Are you from hennesey the company?
I think their emissions compliant compound set up is much needed for you guys
my stock motor stock slipping trans lly is faster then that🤣🤣
Literally 😂
Would love to be able to own a truck like that
I can’t help but laugh at these guys. 20-30 seconds and they talk about it “getting too warm” cause of no cooling system. Clearly they have never tried starting one on a run stand and let idle to help seat rings. I mess with LS engines and always run them upwards of 3-4 minutes before shutting them off with no coolant. Never had an issue.
Cuase you are gunna seat rings in 3-4 minutes
You could tell they were bummed about the emissions too
I have that same truck just sits a bit higher. ...I love it
You guys should build a 2-door Tahoe
281👍's up guys thanks again for taking the time for us all to be part of your team
I was expecting low 9s at least. Just ran a 2020 Ford F150 4x4 with the 5.0 V8 last week with my accord 2.0T. That truck ran 9.2s bone stock.
1/8th mile?
Seems like alot of money "building" a truck to not crank it up for the original 1000hp goal.
All of my duramax’s have ran faster than that including my LB7 with a 125hp tune on it..... (everything stock/just tuned) my lml puts down 550 to the wheels and runs high 7’s in the 1/8th. Y’all need a driver mod haha
Oh yea the LB7 had 480k miles on it as well haha
For real man, not sure what these guys are up to on the line. My 7.70 truck is a 640 whp LBZ. If it’s a cool day sometimes that busts 7.60.
My 400hp 7.3 does 8.9sec 1/8th @ 75mph not impressed
Did no one else notice that crank dampener wobbling like a local drunk?
Don't know what your turbo is or if the heads were just new stock ones put back on. I would've expected a bit more out of it considering you can push into the low 500's with just the basic 3 upgrades. I think that truck would run faster in the 1/8th as well, i didn't see a boost launch .🧐
Comical that theyfired the engine without a cooling system. Not like initial fireup is critical in seating piston rings or anything. I hear getting the rings and cylinder walls hot with no water is ideal.
Are y’all not in Tennessee, didn’t realize they started making y’all pass emission tests.
doesn't the upgraded tie rods start causing axle issues after that though?
If you take all the omissions out it makes a lot more power
They are afraid of getting dry raped by the epa
Thanks for the videos guys and gals! Keep 'em comin'!!
Diesels are always hard to start after doing all you did to it. Nice work.
I like how that have to act happy about such a terrible outcome. The emissions absolutely chokes performance out. Yes 580s is okay, maybe even good for a car. But a 7k lb truck its barely any better. If it was a truly open show they could come out and say how they were just as disappointed as the viewers here. With emissions becoming more and more strict shows and products will slowly become more and more watered down until it is all black market.
All that work for less than 600 horse. You could’ve made this thing faster with a turbo LS for half the cost. You hate to see the lawyers step in and ruin things
Diesels are for pulling, drag racing not so much. My BIL's Cevy 5.3 runs pretty fast, but his slower diesel will drag a trailer twice as good.
I'd rather run a 4.90 and have the earth implode a million years sooner. Hell I won't be here anymore....lol
There's nothing efficient about a dpf and emissions. Diesel doesn't go to the atmosfer it falls back to the ground because how heavy it is.
Can they tune a big rig semi?
They tune farm equipment, I can tell you that.
ALL that work and it might as well be factory... Very cost effective fellas :(
My stock engine stock turbo LBZ runs way faster than that. That’s pretty disappointing.
Didn’t even have any sound seemed like it ran like a dog no roar even
I thought this truck was getting compounds? Factory fuel components will support 550-600. Why change of direction?
Fundamental power increase with a diesel is turn up the fuel. On TruckTech run the motor lean to not plug up the power robber we left in the truck to keep environmentalists happy
If it was deleted with duel fuelers with bigger injectors it’d make 900-1000
I have this truck just the dually version and ran a 1.92 60ft, 9.90 at 74mph 1/8th, and 15.3 at 90mph completely stock at 6000 feet in Pueblo Colorado....so not sure what happened here...the trap speed in the 1/8th should have been higher...
Didnt korry willis make a 13or 15 second qaurter mile time with just a tune and up pipes?.....just saying its on UA-cam even the the same looking truck.
They should have been embarrassed to post this video. Truck should have been at least mid to low 8s with 600whp @ 80+ mph
That’s crazy my stock lb7 with bolt on and tunes make 500 horsepower
My LBZ has a CAI and EFI Live. I got dyno tuned and my hot tune is 509hp 1147tq this is sad for all that money
2yrs strong on stock trans
You don't have turn signals. Here in Utah we don't use them either. ;)
Just had too crack the cp4 like you did the 3 and turn them over cracked
20k motor to tuck tail n add emissions and make dink numbers on dyno.. you won't break the motor that's for sure but damn
Couldn't you guys run a cut out valve b4 the DPF for off road use only?
Your plan's changed part way threw because your corporate money restricts you. They gave you a narrative to stick to that limit's your power because of an agenda that plays to make them more money. Is also to manipulate people to believe that they are doing something wrong but aren't when it doesn't bother anyone else or harm their best interest. As much as people love car's and truck's that you guys work on at the end of the day this video is to sell parts for companies. Problem is when they try to lie or manipulate their customers to believe their product's and intentions are the best intention's & they are true to their word about being there to take care of the customer. Provide the customer with an honest product that it is the best quality product that they can provide!
That mush time, effort and $$$$ just to get a high 8 second run..........I'll stick with my gasser.
I love my 14denaliHD
Boost launch that thing lol
The guys seemed pretty bummed about the emissions compliance, but I think it’s a good build. Shows significant increases without being much worse for the environment. If I had a diesel (and the money) I’d build like this.
Noticed no blowoff valve why? What gauges do you run besides boost gauges what and what brand?
That is a great question, but there’s is No need for a blow off valve on a Diesel engine as there is no throttle body to trap boost, when you let off the the throttle the boost goes right back out the intake giving that turbo bark or whoosh sound, that people love.
Kills em when people get them kind of numbers on a truck, that truck isn’t gonna get my ass to work reliable for the next 100k miles. Ya know how a diesel truck was meant for? It’s fun and crazy , maybe if I had crazy disposable $?
I had 7k in a 88 fox body and ran in the 7's on motor 6's on spray. This is a major waste of time to take it to a drag strip. Should have went to a pull competition and put that torque to work
They could of did that in a stock tune on a stock engine.
Could have made the same power with injectors an maybe a turbo didn't need to waste all the other money if u weren't going to utilize what u got I'm a powerstroke guy but this is sticking to see a potential high hp diesel killed by emissions I would have sold the machined long block for what I had in it an bought a stock long block an put a turbo an injectors in it
What up everybody
Sup

Gettin stoned

Probably just stuck a stockey in it behind the scenes
All that money and time wasted just to top this build off with the factory emissions junk! Made very little power. Something that my truck can make with a good efi live tune. Straight pipe. Cai. 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ sad to see guys

Na there is a half moon that sticks off the front it’s part of how the balancer itself is balanced. Kinda wild how it looks

Anyone know the wheel and tire setup on the denali?
Just like everyone else has said. Waste of money and time to keep the emissions
this should of been a monster :(
