I just said to my husband, ‘I’ll need some loo paper to create a card’. ‘Is anything safe?’ He answered. 🤣🤣🤣. Reminded me of the time he couldn’t find a gadget for the bbq and ‘assumed’ it must be in my studio, ‘probably covered in paint or glue;, he announced. 😵💫😆
Good morning! I just discovered your channel and I'm already addicted to it ❤ You show so beautiful, great things I've never seen before. Thank you so much!! Love from Germany Vivian
Hi Christine 🥰🙏🦘🦘🦘My Friend from Wiltshire sent me your video today. Love the technique & you made a beautiful card from your creation. I have used the backing layers from serviettes to do that in a 3D embossing folder & made the image into a frame for a sepia childhood photo from the 1950s. I layered a small oval diecut to fit an oval aperture cut in the centre. I coloured it with copper acrylic paint without watering it down & when totally dry, I put in into a glassless metal frame with the photo attached behind the aperture. It turned out really well. TFS how to make this pretty, embossed panel using toilet paper. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
My husband wouldn't thank you for a shaving brush like my Colour Duster brush... He likes a nice bit of Badger hair or the like, not like this rough old thing! 🤣🤣🤣
Another brilliant idea and demonstration!!! I love your videos Christine, your voice is soothing and relaxing. Thanks for sharing, take care! Much love , Ann ❤❤xxx
Thank you so much Christine I really really enjoyed watching you create this amazing and beautiful relief item again. It’s a super brilliant idea and I really really love ❤️ it. Please 🙏 stay safe and well too xxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
This card is extra sweet Christine…we have a new baby coming in our family so this die will come in very handy.. your design is as usual very smart..love it!❤
I echo comments made by others! This may be an older technique to some but new to me so was wonderful to see today. Today’s new products are showcased in the hands of an artist with vision. Many thanks!
I am a new subscriber. You popped up in my feed and I have become hooked! I have to watch your other videos now...Thanks for sharing; from Michigan, USA
I’m going to try this with an embossing folder as I don’t have a stamp like that. Also as you mentioned I will try very carefully tearing the edge away whilst it’s wet instead of cutting as this might create a nice distressed edge. Thank you so much for the idea and tutorial 😘😘
Thanks for reminding me of this lovely technique. I did this many years ago and added just a little PVA glue to the water to make the finished image a little harder, but it looks like you don't need it. I love this beautiful card.
There must be many variances of the method for this technique. White glue would leave a slightly shiny finish, it depends on the finished look one fancies. I used white glue all the time in so many projects when I was teaching in primary school! Thank you 😃
Wow...this is the first time l have ever seen this done and absolutely love it. Thanks so much for sharing, will definately try it. Love love love your shows. 🌿💞🌿
I could not figure out what this resembles when I first watched it. I remember now, mulberry or handmade paper. I only have a couple of negative stamps and neither look nice, off to search the internet for something more appealing, thank you Christine
I did another video showing how to do the process with stamping foam converting a regular stamp into a negative image! Maybe you’d like to check that out!
It reminded me of how handmade paper can be made. The wet paper pulp is pressed into a mold, flattened, and left to dry. That's the basic, unsophisticated way to make paper. I'm making a note of this one to try it. I've got a lot of stamps that are designed to leave the negative image unstamped - what a good way to use them!
Wow, you are bringing back lots of older techniques. Being in Arizona, I also use my cuttlebug with an embossing folder. I don't worry about the excess moisture in my machine after wiping it off as I put it outside for a few minutes....poof, it's dry!
@@Chrissieannie Really,.. well I will have to check that out. Thanks for the reply, also I’m from Canada. Really do enjoy your videos your style is very nice and I like your voice, very soothing. Take care
Just beautiful. Besides your lovely art work, with which you always inspire me, you have a calming voice. I can listen to you all day long! As always, thank you for sharing!
Oh I love this! I’be been card making for 2.5 years, so I love anything new to me!!! I will get an embossing folder out and do this. I’m trying to think of stamps I may have this will work with….hmmm. Thank you!!
@@Chrissieannie nope I’ll follow what you did but sub the folder. 🙂 you mentioned a FB page, I’d love to make some crafty card making friends, could I join?
I tried this once many decades ago and I used wooden cookie molds. I then tried old silicone small candy and soap molds. Never put the results to Use though. Thanks for jogging my memory. 🙃
I have done this before and I’m sure it was because of your video. I can’t believe it but I have the same stamp and love it. I have used napkins and paper towels and they all work. I’m glad you mentioned the embossing folders I had forgotten that. I can’t find gilding wax so I used raw or burnt umber, oil in a tube and it seemed to work ok. But I do like the look of the gilding wax better. Great video Christine, keep them coming. 😊
Did it, had some gold leaf rub and buff.. it worked fine. Will blog it eventually. Used a Christmas stamp, relief NOEL. Did the letters in shimmer paint so they stood out .. one less Christmas card now needed for 2022! Think I'd like to try it with serviette as my paper a bit fragile.. think serviette would be better! Thanks Chrissie. Will link when blog! Keep well. God bless. Shaz in Oz.x.
Thank you so much Christine I really really enjoyed watching you create that toilet paper embossed plague. It really really impressive and gorgeous too. Thank you too for all your tips and tricks, so useful and helpful too. I really really love ❤️ this idea. I’m going to try this out too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
It's like fabric if you cut against the grain, it's messy In guess the same with paper! Love the project, just found you will follow you for these great projects!
I'm so glad I found you on here. That is so simple but very effective and really pretty too. The finished card looks so elegant. Thank you for sharing it with us. Take care, xx
Such a gorgeous card, Christine! I've never seen this before and I"m looking forward to giving it a go. Using Embossing Folders is also a great idea! Thank you for sharing...hugs from Canada
Brilliant technique and stunning card. I have a collection of these stamps from years ago and I am definitely using this technique on them. Thank you so much for sharing.
Ive seen this technique just one other time- like 7 or 8 years ago! But that one I think she sprayed the layers of toilet paper & then pushed the stamp into it. I had completely forgotten it til your video. I never did try it, now I will for sure! Your card is just lovely. The gilding wax over the image is so pretty. I bet we could get a great image with those newer 3D embossing folders too. I’m excited to try this. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
I believe you could use a stencil for this as well. I think it would be pretty even making die cuts into cardstock and use that for a base, though you might want to laminate it first, to keep it from sticking. Awesome idea, thank you so much for sharing it with us! Blessings!

Thank You ❤️❤️❤️
That was brilliant. I have been crafting for over 40 years and have not see this before but will try is now. Thank you ⭐️
That's a good old fashioned Shaving Brush...Just picked one up at the Thrift store. Natural bristles work great for crafting projects.

Fortunately there's no electrics in a Cuttlebug to get affected by water ingress. I have a really old Cuttlebug that I keep for messy pressings!
Having finally visited Arizona, in July, I feel that on another level 😅
