eh eh, I use the exfoliating glove to wash my locs/scalp too. You can also use coconut vinegar instead of acv, it's cheaper and stronger. For anyone wanting an even deeper locs detox, bentonite clay and acv/coconut vinegar. I warm the vinegar and add to the clay, the consistency I want is watery, not thick. It penetrates really deep and brings things to the surface. I shampoo after and yes diluting shampoo is a must. If you choose to condition, dilute that too. Everything used on locs eventually becomes a part of locs so be mindful. Our locs soaks up things like a sponge. Great video, very smart work around.
I'm glad I found this video. I'm going to take a before and after picture or my locks showing the results and for my son. Glad I won't have to soak my locks
Science says that baking soda and vinegar have opposite ph balances which when used together almost cancel each other rendering it less effective. Unless I read it wrong
Omg i have this same problem. I put the shampoo directly in hair and it Just had bulided up residue.. awww thnks im gonna try this!!! It makes alot of sense lol appreciate u !!
You shouldn’t mix the apple cider vinegar with the baking soda, the cleaning agents in the baking soda are nil and void with you mix with a acid. So you’re not really cleaning your hair up. You mix water with apple cider vinegar spray, let it sit. Rinse and then do a wash or two with the baking soda and rinse again!
thank you for sharing this video, im partially sighted and am finding detoxing quiet difficult. i am going to try your way as like you finding somewhere to rest your head is difficult. haha. can you tell me if you used cold water or hot in the detox mix? because of my sight i have to feel the locks, seems theres quiet a few.. though i have tried doing it in the sink. im too old for those positions haha.... one other thing, my hair is mix race and tends to get dry at times, so im alittle bit wary about how long i should leave this mix in...... thanx again. how many times should i do this to completely rid locks of fluff etc.
Hi, Warm water in the mix. The only way to completely rid your locs of fluff is to comb them out. Use your judgement with how long to keep it in... don't let your hair dry. All the best.
Hi thanx for yr reply. I have been told do NOT pick, comb, or twizzer the lint out as it destroys the locks. So have now dyed it, looks alittle less lint. I will re dye again soon. (My friend).I was picking it and she told me she did the same n her locks were feathery. Mm. Also washing up liquid is as good. I dont put anything in my hai. Aittle grease on roots. We shall see how they look after 2nd dye. Have a blessed day.
Yesssssssss come through intro song I see we team BEYHIVE over here PERIOD’T AS YOU SHOULD😁 Btw when you ACV your supposed to make a batch of it and let your locs sit in the water for 15 minutes it gets all of the build up out idk if it was just me but your locs look white in the back maybe it’s just the camera I’m not sure but great video stay locked and stay BEYHIVE 😂🐝
Hello. Thanks for the video. My daughter's hair got build up from our loctician using shampoo and conditioner (undiluted) and didn't do a good job of rinsing it out. Suffice to say she's no longer doing our hair. I tried this method and even washed afterwards using dishwashing liquid (recommended from another youtuber); and the buildup didn't budge. I'm lost at what to do. I cannot do a soak as her locs are not long enough. Any suggestions? Thanks
How often should I do this.....because I have old build ups......when I did it the newer build ups removed easily.....but the older build ups are taking a longer time ....can I do it every other day for now?
My parts aren't defined. I sat in my room one day and blindly finger parted my hair and twisted. I did however use a comb to define a center and 2 side parts... but the locs themselves are various sizes
Those locks are not clean or they don't look clean. It looks like a lot of build u still in them. the scalp looks clean and the hair looks shinny but with build up. Thank you any way. peace sister.
I do believe in the video I stated the buildup was from a shampoo I stopped using. You can find my retwsit routine here: ua-cam.com/video/56JbToui2jc/v-deo.html
Nope. I retwist once every 4+ months...unless there's a style I want to do. I just gently separate the roots while I moisturize and my hair is still wet/damp
Love your accent yu jump in and out with the Jamaican patois, "lard gad" funny. LOL
Yes funny is it...i screamed 😂
I'm Grenadian and I say that slang every day. It's a west Indian thing. Love your video.

Coconut vinegar?? Awesome info!
Thank you for sharing about the glove, I never thought of that.
I never thought about using exfoliating gloves to help remove the build-up. Thanks for the great idea!
Yes! I can't take credit because I, too, saw it somewhere first, but I'm glad I could share the tip with you. 🙂
I just found this video. Thank you so much. I'm handicap and it's very difficult to bend over the sink. In 3 years in my lock journey now
Aww. I'm glad I could be of good assistance to you.
Thx for finding a way that doesn’t require soaking

You shouldn’t use baking soda and acv together. Use one before the other. They cancel each other out.

Joel D I read the same thing they say use them separately! And everyone is is promoting this !
Yep neutralizes, really should use either/or not both.
I laughed so hard at your comments. This video was so nice and straightforward. Thanks Sis x

Do you mean rinse as in just with water or shampoo? Also can you do the acv by itself or do you need to do the baking soda as well?

I think it's called "good for you" or "good for me"... can't remember the artist. One of those royalty free UA-cam songs 🫠 sorry.
This is how I like to clean my hair so transitioning to locs will be a little easier using this technique thank you!!!

If her locs are really that full, you may need to take a chunk of time and scrub each loc individually with shampoo. Then rinse throughly
I have high top locs so Im sure this way will work better for me. I'm definitely gonna try this.
The commentary tho 😂😂😭
You are so hilarious!!! I absolutely loved watched the video but more hearing you talk.
I'm glad 🤗 and thank you
I 💛 your locs 😃 and thanks for the method.

Maybe you need to soak for the old/ tough stuff.
All u need now is some hot water some coke a cola and you have a cracked door
Thank you for this!
Your welcome
Excellent video. Good details. Big thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
i lobe your accent ❤️
Honestly you cannot completely remove any build up in your dreads, especially inside of them.
Yes you can. It just takes multiple washes with the right product.
Yes you can you just need to soak with a detox.
Check out my IG@btn_salon
@@permfree261 thank you for that thank u for that darian
@@sonyamartin6226 you are welcome 🙂
yes you can remove product build up, soaking in hot water, bentonite clay, detoxing locs bath, detoxing shampoo....
Will definitely try this Thanks sis😘
Beautiful, beautiful girl.

Will the vinegar scent be strong? I take public transportation😡😟
No... because you'll be washing the vinegar out.
what kind of parts do you have
My parts aren't defined. I sat in my room one day and blindly finger parted my hair and twisted. I did however use a comb to define a center and 2 side parts... but the locs themselves are various sizes
@@OnyxGoddess onyx I DID 😁😁THE SAME THING TO MY HAIR🤓🤓 ..I PROMISE!!
I'm gonna give this try because there's no way I can hot water my hair.. It's much too short.. lol
@Sherika Stephenson it definitely did. I use a toothbrush as well to help scrub my locs. Then I wash with warm water
New subscriber .... great video

Shampoo, products, sweat & dead skin..
Depends on your head.
Thank you soaking is time consuming, I can't wait to try this way☺️
Hope it works for you
lol ha ha ha i am only here for the jamaican patois (bajan lady in canada)
That may be all you came for, but you better stay for the vibes. Lol
😁
You could have soaked your hair too.
I agree, I think the soaking would've been better. Less mess in my opinion
Those locks are not clean or they don't look clean. It looks like a lot of build u still in them. the scalp looks clean and the hair looks shinny but with build up. Thank you any way. peace sister.
Gosh! I guess every ones entitled to an opinion! 🤓
