  • Russia’s war in #Ukraine has forced many older people from their homes and stolen their independence. Others cannot flee the conflict and stay in dangerous conditions.
The cost of housing and additional assistance must not be Ukraine’s alone.
The international community must provide humanitarian assistance that prioritises the inclusion of older people.
Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began on 24 February 2022, has been characterized by a flagrant disregard for civilian life and frequent war crimes. Ukraine, where people over 60 years old make up nearly one-fourth of the population, is one of the “oldest” countries in the world. Often reluctant or unable to flee their homes, older people appear to make up a disproportionate number of civilians remaining in areas of active hostilities, and as a result, they face a greater likelihood of being killed or injured. A new Amnesty International report shows how intersecting challenges, from disability to poverty to age discrimination, are compounded in emergency situations, putting older people at heightened risk.

    Ethiopia 🇪🇹‼
The Oromo people are dying in Ethiopia Especially now that the Oromo people in Wollagga and surrounding areas are being massacred by the army deployed by Abiy Ahmed is this a human race? Where did the human rights movement cut it ? The major media including Human rights watch have heard how the dictatorship led by Abiy Ahmed has not voiced or reported to the world the 65 million Oromo people in Ethiopia who are being massacred by the dictatorship of Abiy Ahmed
Millions of people were displaced and hundreds were killed and buried and luckily became the dinner of wolves and pigs. The Oromo people are dying in a horrible manner regardless of size. One of the things that made this country called Ethiopia a country is the Oromo people. But the blood of saints shed by the dictatorship is a great evil not only for Ethiopia but for the Horn of Africa.
You governments with great reputation for example including America and European stood up and chose to cry about the killings and displacement and starvation of the Oromo people. America has not been able to take any action except to say that we are concerned about Ethiopia. The people have lost their lives and the world has lost their hearing. There is no media The international media should work on the issue of victims in Ethiopia. The problem ahead of Ethiopia is a great darkness and it will be difficult to calm it down. Keep your fingers crossed and watch in silence
