@@smsno1 One of the few regrets I have about my raving days in the nineties was not getting to more Southern raves. F&S, I don't care what anyone thinks, their tunes were awesome and I genuinely feel sorry for people who never got the chance to rave and sing along to one of their peak-era sets. Standing next to a guy who looked like he wrestled dogs for fun and tortured people for a living crying as he sang and danced his heart out to "Field of Dreams" is a fond memory for me.
Yes respect my friend. Use to play a lot of Happy Hardcore set's at Club Kinetic, Dreamscape and Equinox milwakees early 90's uk🇬🇧 . There's probably a few of my old sets kicking about somewhere and a few of my old tunes. Big ups!
Cub Kinetic was all me and my friends used to talk about before we actually went raving, I only ever managed to make it there once, but I still have the compilations they released on c.d's and vinyl and a Stompy "P.A" (the nadir of any rave) where I get second-hand embarrassment for the poor vocalist every time I am brave enough to listen to it.
My crew in the 90's was half and half Jungle and HHC DJ's. We'd take over a stage and mix in to each other's tunes in the rave! Ravers would loose their minds! It was some of the most memorable times of my life! Respect for the tutorial, man! Keep up the good work!!!
One of my favorite styles. Always loved Vibes & Wishdokta Tracks & Remixes, because they used the amen-break as a main-element and played a lot with it. Breakbeats, Piano & high-pitched vocals always gets me. :D :D :D
I always loved it best when something like Dreadland remix of Discoland would come and you'd get some breaks and basslines in amongst all of the euphoric four/fours.

Wow this takes me back. I lived happy hardcore from around 93 to 98. Even tried making a few tracks never got a release though. This is an awesome video. Thankyou!
This was so good! Very informative and educational too! I loved how you explained how to get proper chords for the string and the Piano. It all comes to life, in a genuinely authentic way and cuts through perfectly! 😃
This video is about all I can take of happy hardcore, lol! I liked it for a bit when I was balls deep in dropping tabs and eating pills though. Still enjoyed the video. Doesn’t matter which sub genre of dance music it is, you’ll learn some good production tips regardless.
Jungle techno is one of the names that people used to refer to the harcore break beats in the early 1990s which is now referred to as oldschool, then happy hard-core started coming out.
Decent made but it's Scottish bouncy techno / Dutch Babyboom funcore. Sounds like something from Scott Brown. That 16:28 is 3 Steps Ahead "Drop It" on Pengo. True English happy hardcore should use jungle rollers, jungle subs, and no offbeat bouncy business (regarded as sacrilege). 2 Croozin "2 Pumpin" and Vibes & Dougal "Feel Free" for example are the legit thing. Basically a piano jungle. It was played alongside jungle in England and even intermixed by a few in the same set. Anything else underwent a Scott Brown influence into late 95.
Damn. That Tracklib looping feature and the ability to put a beat behind the loop, to test it out, is wicked! Same with that Rebalance function, of RX! Wow!
You couldn’t of captured the time and spirit of it any more than you did . I’ve been waiting for someone to make this thanks 🙏 the breakbeat one I preferred it was legendary
Wow Stranjah, just wow. I was about to randomly write a comment under your latest video about a tutorial for 4x4 drums since it´s having a lot of influence on the dnb scene right now, just like Kanine´s Get Down and your latest video is suddenly the 4x4 tutorial. Thank you.

Since you are already half way there, why not a Gabber/Rotterdam track, next? It is very similar to this, with the distorted 909 and Alpha Juno Hoover stabs. Make it faster and darker and lose the cheesy vocal... Voila!
Most people don't realize Happy Hardcore and Jungle/DnB actually had WAY more overlap back in the early days. Especially in the UK, where "hardcore" only referred to breakbeats until ~mid-90s and after. That was when (UK) hardcore had its great divide between "techno" and breakbeat/DnB. Honestly, with "breakcore" being so popular among a new generation, I almost have a feeling 90s Breakbeat Hardcore has a serious chance at making a comeback. To me, early breakbeat HHC is more accessible than actual breakcore and can easily be adapted into something more palatable to mainstream audiences. (Vocals... Melodies... Rapping... Verse-Chorus-Verse structure...)
I think most junglists I'm the 90s started out as candy ravers before they found jungle and quickly tried to forget that ever happened I still always loved it though
