I honestly don't understand the out cry... like the only thing i can see that Topps have done wrong is admit an issue and apologise, because now the angry mob are gonna come with their Crocodile Tears... Panini with their collations and criminal prices have been absolutely horrible and no one bats an eye lid... just look at what they've done with Prizm Football which itself is a dirty money grab that punishes the actual collector.
Topps messed up big time by saying the product had SPs, but if they never said that there would be 0 out cry
I know somebody in particular that bought one case of the hobby solely for the short prints. He’s obviously upset. Even the one person that bought one box for the short prints; they are upset too. It’s not about being negative it’s just what happened you are allowed to feel upset when things like this happen. And had Topps not included those short prints in the checklist these people would not have purchased the product. Let’s not blur the lines between negativity and reality. Sometimes things happen. Topps is letting my guy return the case. He is happy about that
You dont understand the “out cry”? People mainly buy this junk for the rookies. Now theyre saying 5 of the best rookies, that should have been in the set to begin with, didnt get put in. Its a big deal. Its borderline fraudulent and theyre remedies to fix the problem arent good enough.
@@TriviaChat Not really kissing Topps Ass at all... I'm just pointing out that collation and ridiculous prices are a general fault in the hobby itself. Sure, Topps said their product would have something and it doesn't... sounds like something that the other brands and set do already and don't even address it.

I’ve really liked the product so far. Albeit, I have had insane luck. A few breaks and I get lucky with a Yepez Gold Wave /50 auto, Alek Thomas Blue Lava /150 auto, and some other nice colored autos. And a few Wander Refractors and inserts as well. I also really like the insert sets, they’re sweet! Sad about the SPs but happy that they are making up for it.

Opened a Topps Chrome blaster box yesterday with my son while watching playoff baseball. This blaster was incredible. We pulled a Wander red speckle variation SP 3/5!!! This box also included a Seth Beer auto redemption, an Oneil rookie, a Bryce harper heart of the city, a Wander classic insert and a Brian Anderson Aqua diamond (i think) /199. An unreal box picked up at our local Target. Memories made with my little man, and now we're both hooked! Just thought I'd share!

I pulled the blue refractor auto of spencer strider in a Walmart blaster. Very awesome card, though I'm a red sox fan, I was happy with it.
Really impressed with these parallels. The best color. Minus the QC stuff which isn't actually a big deal for me, this is an amazing set.

Ive opened about 24 Chrome blasters. I've noticed the hits all come at once. Got a Purple Chaz McCormick Auto and a Pink Sparkle /250 Pujols in the same box. Later had two numbered cards in one box. There are also guys you know if you hit, its going ot be a dud like in years past. I've noticed Connor Wong and Hoy Park signal a blah box, but it is still a relatively small sample size. But i have about 24 Jessie Winkers in the 87 design if anybody really needs em :D. Not one Julio. Not even a base.
There is no base julio in blasters this year, the only Julio Rodriguez cards possible in the retail blasters are the autos.

I've never ripped so much retail as 2022 (usually all hobby). Found 5 boxes TC last night at Walmart and wife pulled a Wander Prism and a Pink. Last week she hit a Prism and a Purple Speckle Wander. We've been incredibly lucky with retail for 2022. She's hit far more than I have so who am I to discourage? Lol.

I like upper Deck as a company but I wish they could follow suit as tops and start implementing cards that had some value especially with SP authentic as you pay so much and you literally have maybe two hits in a box like a total a few dollars when you paid over $300 for the box

I opened one blaster and got a numbered rc auto one purple rc numbered one negative two cepias and miggy heart of the city and a wander rc
I know this is older but only thing I can think of about having blowout, steel city, and D&A is taxes. In ohio our machine shop I work at stores all the parts raw and finished. We pay taxes for storing them unless we store them in a trailer outside with is not good for parts nor baseball cards 😂 so maybe having middle men having them in their possession would require them to pay taxes? I could be way off.
So are you gonna receive any of those silver packs? And if so are you gonna distribute them for the slammers that got in breaks that featured hobby boxes? Pretty confident We already know the answer! We all know you’re one of the good men in the hobby.
Are you thinking the hobby lite boxes will get the silver packs? Cause for $100 on Topps website...the silver packs may be more valuable than that is the short prints come 1 in 10 or something close to that

I just got one question for the haters complaining. What makes series one so much better than Chrome? Because series 1 only really had Franco and everyone went nuts over that release. We get Oneil Cruz in here with franco in Chrome form and people are all pissy. I bet this product would of been better if topps wouldn't have enounced those SP's. Most of the people complaining probably wouldn't had pulled it anyhow.

what are the odds of pulling one of those short prints? Still a great product without them and would buy it with or without them. Hopefully Topps will make it right. When you mass produced something there’s bound to be mistakes.

I do like hearing about the ins and outs of the hobby shop business. Something you didn't mention was that the "forced" allocation is often at HUGE discount. As I recall my shop got a CASE of NFL Prizm hobby at $3300. (and then had to buy any extra at the retail price) -- I do think it's important to remember that. The distribution system is completely broken as it is, I can't wait to cut hobby shops out of my life entirely, to be honest.

I personally understand why people would be really upset. For the majority of people, the only reason they bought the boxes in the first place or because of the short prints. People being upset, that’s not being negative. It’s what happened

I don’t understand why anyone gives Topps the benefit of the doubt. It’s pretty obvious even before this break that the SPs aren’t in retail, either. We would’ve seen them by now - retail was in Target stores on Thursday.
Topps should also definitely know by now if the SPs are in retail, Lite boxes, etc. and should’ve included that in their statement. Should’ve also directly stated whether Lite boxes would include a silver pack.
I know you can only go by what’s in the statement, but it was Topps’ choice to make the statement so vague. Raises more questions than answers.
@@zacklackey6559 I suspect that TOPPS was "instructed" by Walmart & Target to NOT divulge the SP omission from retail blasters. Walmart & Target would not appreciate their sales expectations being throttled by that ugly bit of knowledge getting out.

I opened Topps Chrome a just to pull a Spencer Strider. Got it on my second Jumbo pack. So I have no need to open.
You mean the auto, right? I pulled the blue auto from a Walmart blaster. I really like strider, i was kinda bummed he didn't do better in the division series 😕

After sitting in the outdoor shipping container since probably may or june, this set is getting a little warped and bricked. On a side note, at 33:06 it looks like these will need a serious wipe down before submitting for grade

At my walmart . The clerks don't care if u buy your limit. Go out put ur cards in ur car. Than. Come right back in and buy ur limit again .crazy huh?
All Walmarts and targets have dropped their limit stuff now… just bought 30 blaster boxes of Topps series 2 last week
Most don't bother with it in rural areas, from what I've seen. My small town Walmart has the sign up, but hasn't enforced it at all. The Walmart in the larger city close to me adheres to it, and doesn't even have the cards out so people can get them. They are behind the service desk and the clerk must get it for you.
Monopolies are notoriously bad for consumers and that's basically what you're describing here. I know this is dealing with the practical reality of now vs. what's to come and from that standpoint Fanatics sounds great. Also, I know this isn't an economics forum, lol. But, from a long-term standpoint, there's a lot to be wary of. And from an idealistic standpoint, licensing *needs* some diversity, which means no monopolization and Panini/other companies have trademark recognition, and Fantatics has legitimate competitors that allow consumers to have more influence in the market.
I'm gonna have trouble buying this product at all unless Topps corrects the issue and releases the corrected packs in brand new packaging and new boxes. Without that, how will I know that I'm buying a complete product and not the crappy mistake product? As of now, I'm glad I've got nothing into it and expect to buy only the individual cards I want and wait for update. There are still good autos and the guy I want is in the autograph checklist but I'm still pretty sore how they're treating my boy Julio who started the season on Opening Day and after hearing you can't even get his SP here I'm done with Topps for now and this product in particular just because I expect to never know whether I even have a chance at my chase pull.
You probably shouldn't buy any if it upsets you that much.
It makes for a prettier builder set than Heritage.
@@StrykerBreaks Obviously, I agree. I'm not trying to be negative about it, just pragmatic. I already felt like the price increase was too much, and adding in the idea that the product I end up with might be a bust just throws me over the top on it. I'll just keep watching you do it. :)
I don't personally like the silver pack thing, but there's no way they're going to try and pull all remaining product and repackage. That's a little too much to ask to be reasonable imo and in the end, why would they when they're going to continue to just sell everything out as is?

Brother, I have nothing to lose money on here. I don't carry large amounts of product. The fact that I don't have anything to lose allows me to speak freely. I like new baseball cards, especially chrome ones. It's really that simple. I'll probably really like the next release that comes out too.

@@StrykerBreaks I understand liking the chrome set, baseball collectors, like you and I, love these sets, I actually collect and build them. I think from that standpoint fine but to say what Topps did, kinda like the pass and I know you said you didn't give them a pass but ya kinda did. Topps knew damn well those SPs didn't make it in the product but they liked the high price point it was selling for, they were not gonna allow their money to be trifled with, so they let the consumer take the loss. Personally that's shady business. You know enough people still would've bought the product on the backs of wanders and O'Neil Cruz alone, there was no need for the deception.

I disagree. Max is an all time great. 3x Cy Young winning World Series Champ. A future Hall of Famer with an immense amount of passion. But yes he is certainly overpaid.
