Yikes, rough boxes. Thanks to everyone for paying for these so I can see what's inside. It's a shame that these feel rushed (I know there was a big delay) with stickiness to the cards and those print lines. The inserts do look great though! Bring back the insert chase!!
Man, I love Topps Chrome just like everyone else but that was a rough couple of boxes. My LCS somehow had a great deal on hobbies for $250 (although most other products are slightly marked up) so I scooped one up and my best cards were a Manoah /499 auto, Vilade magenta /399 & Marsh orange /25 parallels. I appreciate the tips on waiting to see if the Jumbo's drop in price, because I sure don't want to pay $600 for a possible box of duds.
Pretty expensive for what you get. Like any Topps product, there's just 1-2 boxes per case that yields your ROI back. Thanks for sharing your preview video

Topps chrome is about the nicest cards there is …. The first box I bought I sleeved all of them with top loader…. They’re just really beautiful….. thank jabs!!!!!!!

These chrome hobby boxes that initially hit the market at 330-360 can now get them at 160 bucks! Wow . Massive drop. Figured at that price point I'll grab a couple..

Very nice cards, but a bit pricey for little people like me. I wonder if Topps will rectify the print issues with customers because several of those cards are not 10's.

Topps Chrome is beautiful but the price is outrageous
If Topps is going to charge this much for boxes then there should be an expectation for high quality control. Print lines and indentations on the cards should not be happening.

Hey jabs. I'm sorta new to the channel. Been watching for about a month. I collected from 88-94, and then from 04-08. Around 04-06 Topps and Bowman chrome were my favorite packs ever. After I while I started busting boxes of chrome and it was so exciting. But for $120 box of hobby chrome I felt the value was worth it. Now, for $900? Or $600? Or even $500? Hell no. You could get a case of chrome for those prices a likely get a superfractor.
The more the price drops, the more I like Chrome, lol.... my local LCS has the jumbos at $550 and the hobby's at $275.... I'm still going to wait and see.... $35 for a blaster seems right at the edge of where I'd like.... when I saw the blasters pre-selling for $60+ I wondered with dread at what the release price might be.... seem acceptable. Thanks for the video, Jabs. You = The Man.
Yeah last year's megas and blasters were way better than hobby
I got a jumbo box of chrome for $500 plus tax. The hobby store in my area as a preferred customer program. Sweet deals!

Chrome is one of my favorites, it’s a bummer that the JRod rookie is a short print again though
If you would like the cards to be worth something in the end, I think having short print rookies is kind of nice.
I definitely will not be purchasing any Topps Chrome but this video certainly helped me see what it had to offer. Ill patiently wait for my Topps Fire Hobbys and be content with that money spent. Thanks for the great video!

Still debating whether to spring for the jumbo or just go for hobby. I’m leaning Jumbo atm, waiting to see some rips first though.
Not sure if this will sway your opinion, I snagged a jumbo and got 4 non-numbered autos. And they forgot to include the 5th. Seems like a lot of tough rips for Jumbo this year but who knows.
If the 90's was the junk wax era, we're now in the scrap metal era.

Just got a bunch of the GPK chrome. Majority had the roller marks on them. Pretty crappy. The Mark can be cleaned off pretty easy but what the heck??!! 😡🤬
That means Topps Chrome Update 2022 will be scorching hot when they release!
With my assumption double this price. Because it'll have the rookies everyone is chasing and if I'm not mistaken fanatics fully takes over next year so it'll be topps last big money grab

Good looking product besides the printing mistakes. I hope this isn't a trend we see with Fanatics. I like the inserts. The Art Deco one reminds me of some of the buildings you'll see at Kennywood Park.

Found chrome blasters at my target today. Pulled 87 Wander rc and Freddy Perelta auto /299. And a few cool pink refractors.

In my opinion Topps already had some of the hobby and jumbo product printed first. Then they delayed release of the overall product to add the SP's. So the first product hitting the market won't have those SP's that everyone wants. I think we will see more SP pulls out of retail and later print runs.

ive seen a 2 case break of jumbos , each case had 2 numbered cards(there should be 4 or so in each box at very least) 8 of the 10 autos you could find in a card show 1.00 box in about a year

For the price, the quality control is criminal- print lines/roller marks and dinged corners. Write to customer service for some kind of relief

I love Chrome, but this price hike is insane. I bit the bullet and did 2 blasters for $70. That used to nearly be the price of FOUR but now I'm getting 2. Ha. I don't plan on getting more, I just wanted to have a little fun, but I'm getting priced out of everything. The economy is hurting and they jack up the price of this stuff. I'd rather put food on my table, a roof over my head, and gas in my car than overpay for this stuff. It's not like these boxes were amazing either. If others have the disposable income then knock yourself out, but this stuff is just not for me. I'll settle for the random cheap blasters I find here and there. I'm more than happy with ripping a $20-25 blaster of Gypsy Queen or something rather than forking over $35+ tax for this stuff. If the return on investment was anywhere close to breaking even then ok, but that jumbo and hobby combined yielded almost nothing. I don't mean to be so negative and complain, but Topps/Fanatics is really going to kill the hobby by not only over saturating the market with products, but also pricing people out as well.
I don’t really get it, why would anyone expect Julio or Bobby Witt Junior to be in this? They’re not in series one or series 2. So they’re gonna be in chrome update which is actually cool with me because chrome update is only retail and will be much cheaper!! 👍🏼
I waited 2 years and checked on eBay last week and got by chrome hobby box for $150.00
I’d be so disappointed with myself for paying the initial release or god forbid preorder prices collectors were paying before.

I don’t plan on getting any of topps chrome. So many print lines, and crazy expensive. And it’s about impossible to get Julio or Bobby Witt, I also noticed that almost all of the autographs are pitchers.

I picked up one blaster box from target and it was roughhhhhh
Nice looking inserts but underwhelming autos and high price tag makes this a pass for me. I’ll probably just pick up the sweet looking Pete Alonso Heart of the City insert for a dollar off of eBay (Let’s go Mets!) and call it a day on this product. If the price plummets in a month or two, as I expect it may, then I might reconsider. I’ll try a few blaster boxes if by some wonder I come across them in the wild at Target.
