After trying so many boxes... it's the musicality and warmth of the converters that win me over ea time, i honestly think, "aside from record latency compared to thunderbolt element 24" this is simply hands down the best sounding converters in the game of audiophile heaven
There's a good reason why the 2 channel duet with minimal i/o costs more than a Saffire pro 40 with 8 mic pres and lots of i/o. I've been using a pro 40 for years and recently just able to hear that it's lacking something in the pre's or converters or both actually. it's still a really great interface for the money.
We always want Warmth sounding not bright To me I like the pro 24 it sounds More Depth Real analog sound analog have thickness So with saffire pro 24 will go for that one the price too is so Good
Good comparison, I think the Apogee wins it for me. But it's not completely fair I think. The Apogee is a lot more expensive and equipped with hi-end preamps. Could you try to make a comparison between Apogee and a Focusrite Clarett interface? That I would love to hear! Thanks for this by the way!
Я честно не пробовал, драйвера думаю есть, но главная проблема кроется в подключении по FireWire, дело в том, что для винды нужно будет покупать FireWire контроллер. Эти контроллеры не все качественные, в основном попадаются говеные, на них карта запуститься, но будут посторонние щелчки. При чем щелчки постоянно, у меня такое было на ноутбуке HP. Есть более новая версия дуэта, которая работает по USB, рекомендую покупать именно её.
you can definatly work with the saffire pro. But the overall sound quality is even on youtube compression very noticeable. Did not expect its such a big gap .... Thx for the comparising
I just got a duet mint for 40 bucks best money ever spent seeing I waited years for this price drop. I can wait. My mixed couldn't looks like I am recording again. Yay
Had both for a long time, tho the forte can output a lot more power with extra power adaptor, the Duet sounds a bit better Somthing about the conversion feels smoother, more musical The focusrite is feeling technical... so less musical enjoyment.... this is nit picking And my personal opinion...
can you plug the 1/4 from a pedal board to capture any ground pedal effects or do we have to mask over in our software program which doesn't nearly sound the same? Please advise! I am asking about the Apogee more than the Focusrite.
can not get saffire pro 24 to output any sound in windows 10- using a SIIG nne38012-S3 3 port firewire card using 1 of the 9 pin 800 out ports connected to the pro 24--- focusrite 2i4 using usb works fine.. suggestion?

At only 480p resolution while listening with $60 headphones in front of this noisy geezer of a computer, the Focusrite sounds good, but dull, congested and flat in comparison with the Apogee, which has something else to its presentation that just makes it sound more real and alive. It's something hard to explain for me, but the Apogee sounds more expensive to my ears, like it was able to record all the nuances and dynamic details while also having more space between the notes. The Focusrite Forte is the real competition for the duet.
