The tonal work is very reminiscent of Genevieve's solo work, but the more beat focused parts sound more like Louis Cole taking front stage vibe-wise. It still doesn't sound like something either of them could consistently pull off alone, so give them credit.
Turns out you do, and you are. The Knower/Louis Cole rabbithole is a tremendous one to fall into. OVERTIME is a big and important one, really hope you get to check it out on here.
Just found this, so sorry if you've already started on some of their other stuff, but Butts, Tits, Money is what roped me in, and I've replayed Time Traveler probably a couple thousand times at this point. Definitely worth checking out
Louis and Genevieve are amazing. Louis' solo stuff is also incredible. Everyone they work with is also crazy talented. You've got a lot of good music to check out!
YES!! Keep going with Knower and both Louis Cole's (drums and nearly anything else you can imagine) and Geneveive Artadi's (vocals and so much more) solo releases. Sooooo much goodness coming from these two and everyone they collaborate with. Enjoy!!!!
YES!! Absolutely love me some knower! You definitely need to check out more from them, but, the less you know the better in a way. They can be a bit surprising at times 😁. You should absolutely check out "Overtime" or "It's All Nothing Until It's Everything", but anything recorded in that hallway is a great way to start, honestly.
I knew you would love this when I saw the thumbnail. Their music is all over the place. This album was indeed recorded in Louis' house. From this album, "The President" is an absolute must. Older stuff, might as well do "The Government Knows". They do have a collaboration with Snarky Puppy, from Snarky's Family Dinner II. Video is on GroundUp UA-cam channel. Other related content would be Clowncore "Earth". No more context is needed. Louis also is a producer. In that capacity, check out Fuensanta "Cuándo Te Voy A Decir" feat. Louis Cole. Fuensanta is an interesting artist in her own right. Mexican bassist and vocalist, brilliant stuff
Hell yeah Knower! It's such a fun project and everyone involved's crazy good, and if you like the "recorded in a house" aspect the newer videos are kinda next level, pretty much any of them's a good time. I'm The President feels a little marching band-y in a way, if you're into that?? This reminded me I was learning this song on bass... at half speed lol
Woah your firstblisten to knower? Kinda jealous tbh you have so much amazing music to hear for the first time. Louis Cole is incredible and Genevieve pulls his wacky stuff together so beautifully. Check out Thundercat next if you haven't yet
Knower is so fun, always enjoy seeing people find them. Would love to see you check out more from them, anything from these live performances is great they are all interesting in their own way. As well as Louis Cole's solo material (which also features many of the talented folks that contribute to Knower)... and if you're feeling like something very strange and fun there's also his (alleged) project Clown Core.
Two of my favorite groups are Knower and Dirty loops and loved the idea of a collab 👍. Dirty loops has a similar bridge/ part in a song called Coffee break is over. Don’t know if you’ve reacted to it but it’s a must if you haven’t. Thanks for a great reaction to great music🙏
I'd call it prog or fusion. The electronics make me think of Japanese bands like Casiopea or T-Square, but the vibe is a little different, more lo-fi with modern djenty bits. The solo is super jazzy. Singer's kinda got an Aubrey Plaza look and I assume she likes chords.
OK, so here's a comment that legitimizes you to listen/react to a tonne of great music. I know this isn't discord but I don't, sorry. Ready? Please react to any/all of these: (not a demand just trying to facilitate your joy) Knower: It's all nothing 'till it's everything Nightmare Crash the car Hanging on Real nice moment Gotta be another way Dreaming on forever Time traveller What's in your heart I must be dreaming Genevieve Artadi (solo): Visionary Nowhere to go I know Tall waves Watch for the view Louis Cole anything and everything he's ever done, you can't lose, but... A pill in the sea Let it happen Things will fall apart Shallow laughter / Bitches I'm tight Weird part of the night Money Doing the things Blimp Thinking Grains of sand Below the valleys Also anything by Expensive Magnets (Genevieve Artadi and Pedro Martins) will probably float you too. From someone who has had their life changed for the better - it's worth it. Jade
Cool video! I love Knower but I don't really have the music theory background to put into words what they are doing. So, it's cool to hear someone explain it in those terms. If you're new to their music and you start exploring it on YT, you'll see a lot of reference in the comments to Louis Cole being the creative force behind Knower. He's amazing, but that sentiment is only half the truth. Genevieve Artadi is a highly experimental and amazing composer in her own right. Here's a video of her compositions you might enjoy: ua-cam.com/video/GbROA7L7YSc/v-deo.htmlsi=RBlC_WHDcyaW1L0O
Yo, NittPicc!!! Great, great reaction vid here. This is now my very favorite Knower reaction. And I've watched an embarrassingly high number of 'em (for real). Yes, Knower rules. There's plenty more to dig into (which you likely already know). Suggestion: I've yet to see any reaction to one of my favorite Knower performances, and I'd love to see you do one. It's Knower w/ Snarky Puppy doing a Knower tune called I Remember. Rock on, and link is here (DON'T watch it first!!! LOL): ua-cam.com/video/1MP3zbggO3A/v-deo.html
She’s ready for Clown Core
In fact, compare with "Song" from the Van Album... Resembles a lot.
Haha 😅
I prescribe: It's All Nothing Till It's Everything .... as soon as you can!
The musical style is "Louis Cole" I think.
The tonal work is very reminiscent of Genevieve's solo work, but the more beat focused parts sound more like Louis Cole taking front stage vibe-wise.
It still doesn't sound like something either of them could consistently pull off alone, so give them credit.
"there was no context" and "Knower" can be a dangerous combination.
The whole album this song comes from is an absolute masterpiece, it's some of the best music I've heard in years.
Turns out you do, and you are.
The Knower/Louis Cole rabbithole is a tremendous one to fall into. OVERTIME is a big and important one, really hope you get to check it out on here.
EVERYTHING LOUIS COLE TOUCHES IS GOLD.
I found about these guys last year. Phenomenal is an understatement !
Just found this, so sorry if you've already started on some of their other stuff, but Butts, Tits, Money is what roped me in, and I've replayed Time Traveler probably a couple thousand times at this point. Definitely worth checking out
I was introduced to Knower in 2023, with "I'm the President". Been a fan ever since.
you can never get bored with knower...every song is ear candy and a total adventure
This is awesome in so many ways. Thank you to whoever asked you to introduce me to KNOWER.
Knower is my biggest discovery in recent memory. I really look forward to seeing them live next year.
@@PhilMyu Hope Louis feels better

2:24 that drum entrance after the first chorus is absolutely SICK....instant stank face!!
YES!! Absolutely love me some knower! You definitely need to check out more from them, but, the less you know the better in a way. They can be a bit surprising at times 😁.

Seconding both songs.
„It’s all nothing until it’s everything“ is such a masterpiece!
That look on your face was the same look I had when that bridge hit me. Listen to more as their other songs are just as amazing as this one.
check out "overtime" and "it's nothing until it's everything"
Knower is a wonderful rabbit hole to go down. Thanks for sharing your reaction and thoughts with us!
Knower is the Shizzle

I love Knower. And there is a lot of talent in the Knower universe. I found Knower after listening to Clown Core…

You will really like "I'm The President - KNOWER".
Thank you for such a great reaction to my request Miss Picc!
Those are some Alan Holdsworth guitar lines in there. Wow. Great reaction as always, Nitt!
Indeed. Gives me vibes from the Secrets album with Vinnie on drums

Knower definitely runs around in the same circles as Dirty Loops and Cory Wong. I'm pretty sure they're all friends.

"Knower Rules"!!!!!!!!!!! hot....yes
Please react to more KNOWER!
Well if you’re going to go down the Lewis Cole (drummer) rabbit hole…might as well do some Clown Core…the more insane version of Knower.
I want a hat that just says "hat" on it.
The band sell them as merch. I say this as somebody with an oversized head who is annoyed it didn't fit.
jazz/funk fusion
Your Mascot Aran looks good with the Kanami headpiece! 😊😅
Well spotted. Idk what it was that drew my eye to your comment...Apart from the moment i saw the name Kanami.😏
@GaryHolloway-810 it's a good look for him, LOL 😆. I hope all is well in your world Gary-san!

@@ThirstyTunaTaco Lewis Cole on drums is in Clowncore
@@coradesune7537 Oh really? The synth also sounds exactly the same.
@@ThirstyTunaTacowell he basically composes for both and plays keyboard often in both so I'm not surprised

It's like the end of "The Prisoner from 1967", when No. 6 finds out who No. 1 is. Highly controversial.
