- This old truck sounded far worse than it's bite with a severe exhaust leak along with a broken manifold bolt. While we were waiting for parts to finish repairing the exhaust leak we decided to run a compression test.
Original Missouri farm truck that will be my other daily driver. Plan is for stock appearing one piece steel wheels, doll up the interior, rocker/cab corners and top it off with a Tremec TKX 2.87 1st and 0.68 5th. That paired with the 4.56 rear end and powered by the bulletproof 250 inline 6 should make a pretty good going to town truck slash hauler. Stay tuned!

Greatest engine ever made! Just sold my 65 G10 with a three on the tree and it ran like a sewing machine and i could leave the keys in the ignition because kids can't drive it

Growing up poor in the 60's we made the most of a Chevy 6 cyl.
If you know the compression ratio you can work out minimum cylinder pressures.Take 8 to 1 then min pressure is 8x14.5 psi.
Grew up in this era had many of these kinds of autos in our family. It will run all day on 90 PSI. Naturally at 90 psi it will be a bit tired 🎉an probably sucking some oil around the valve guides 130 psi is just fine.
It will run quite well at a consistent 100psi
I was relieved I didn't have to pull the head. I love how smooth these engines are when healthy.
Check the fly wheel for the timing mark.
The compression is pretty consistent! Watch the video, everytime you pulled the meter the needle dipped!!
