My strategy on this game that paid off is sarifice comfort on the early stages to boost up my economy, then slowly introduce what my workers are crying about. Till everything become stable then on the later parts of the game Im able to comfortably get over obstacles My motto is your whinny suffering is music to my ears, its the summer of discontent so get going! Its time to earn your place
Nah, Fall of WInterhome is a lot more hellish. The thing is that Fall of Winterhome walks up straight to you and stabs you in the face from minute one, and at no point makes any pretense of not hating you and wanting your city to die miserably. The Last Autumn OTOH starts kinda deceptively tame and then sneaks it up on you gradually after letting you feel safe. And then at the end when the temperature starts dropping, that's when the knives really come out. Fall of Winterhome is objectively harder, it just is a lot more honest about it and so doesn't lull you into a false sense of security.
Dang I went for the engineer path and ended up very ugly with the workers and inmates, so stressful, food ran out , people got sick and died, project delayed. Felt like an evil foreman myself 😔
One tip: Don't sign the Bath House. Wait until a strike demands it. After that, build one and demolish it afterwards. That coal is better spent on ventilation plants. Gets you out of your first strike effectively for free. Then comfortable quarters can be used to get out ofyour second strike for free using the smae method. Also, 3 Workshops is plenty in my experience. Run them on two shifts later and you'll knock out the entire tech tree well before the end. Only add more if you need a final push for the generator upgrades after having built the thing. In that same vein, I think ~44 engineers including the ones from the other site is enough, plus whatever you need for stuff on the Engineer path. 24 in three workshops on double shifts, and the other twenty manning medical buildings and as backups. No sense wasting logistics points, rations and tent space on more than you absolutely need with the engineers here.
@@Logistical Double Shift is arguably the most busted law in the entire game imo. You go from a 10-hour shift to a 24-hour one - so a 140% increase in production. In exchange for just 50% more workforce once you pass the shift coordination follow-up law. And the discontent hit is actually pretty negligible. It just completely beats Extended Shift when you do the math: Three buildings on Extended Shift is 420% productivity for 300% workforce. Two buildings on Two Shifts is 480% productivity for 300% workforce, and you need one less building. And I think it even pisses off people less. Workshops and fishing harbours in particular are prime candidates, given it saves you importing extra engineers and allows you to get that third dock up earlier rather than having to stay on two fishing harbours. The next best candidate imo is gathering posts on your docks, which allows you to render loading stations and their steep steam core demand redundant with just a few extra workers.
@@Logistical it can be, I haven't put it to good use yet. I played the last autumn last night... My 3rd attempt on easy lol. I'm gonna give it another go... As I didn't build foragers so I could get that achievement. I don't use "laws" that often as well... So I might make sure of them this time round.
i don't agree with the tents on the first night, its a waste of resources and plus if you wait till they ASK you to build them you can use it as a fast way to build up motivation
Yeah to be fair after playing more, I am on the fence about tents on the first day. For me I guess it’s peace of mind knowing I won’t have to build them later. But as you say, if you wait you can raise motivation a lot which is actually a very good tactic.
thanks for tips. Do you have any additional tips on getting around the bugs in the last autumn, especially the forager one. they get stuck in the location from where they bring you food.
I don't think there is a specific key for building roads. The best thing I find is to use the button that appears above disconnected buildings while in build mode.
This game still makes me angry lol takes a-lot to make me rage quit unless I’m playing this apparently so thanks for the tips i will attempt to put them to good use 😀
Winter comes, the ocean freezes and ships can longer come to the port. That then allows you to go to the wrecked ship on foot and salvage it for materials
No problem boss! I learn it through a lot of trial and error! Getting a little bit further each time and noting down what was most important, for example if people were dying of starvation, get on food quicker. Or needing more tech available so get more workshops up and running!
@@Logistical Can you recall how many times you tried before you got the knowledge to put up this video for example? Edit: I completed this scenario on hard difficulty thanks to your tips
@@nicolasespindola2852 hmmmm not 100% sure but 5+ for sure. A lot of trial and error, getting further and seeing what is important in the later game so you can prepare early
This strategy is not very good... Just go rightaway for research station, gathering post, another research station and another gathering post. First post should gather wood only, second one wood and steel. Rush sawmill, dont bother with medical post until second day (or first night) and dont build tents until people ask you to. With sawmill on second day you will have tons of wood for anything you need. As for laws, its good to go for hearty meals, next one chapel, night prayer For example first night you dont have enough wood for research. Just delete some roads and you are good to go.
If you do hard or extreme, first should be gathering post, then two research stations and during night another gathering post. One medical post will get you through sickness for lacking homes.
It is so difficult when the lakes freeze. You can still get food with foragers, so I might be a good idea to save a food source for the end game. Are you going to give it another try?
magicskyfairy69 very nice! Next challenge is to push for all the generator upgrades! I have a full play through on my channel where I actaully manage to upgrade the generator fully! That might help you a little!
@@Logistical I was able to do it today. china virus lockdown has given me the free time for that kind of thing. It was a bit underwhelming though. It told me the outcome was capacity for 800 people, and survival odds were "acceptable"

Hey guys, there is a new updated play through of the The Last Autumn. I am playing hard mode this time! ua-cam.com/video/sM6Nj8gcIZI/v-deo.html

Yeah to be fair, if you can hold out, you can get some nice bonuses when you introduce the things they are asking for! Nice motto too :P
But wouldn’t that just gonna snowball later?
the hardest mission in the whole game. I tried thousand times and always got fired. Gonna watch this and hopefully I will finally win!
Hopefully you got that win!

Yeah it is stressful isnt it!! I find the workers path a little easier, but saying that, still some hard decisions to make and feel evil again XD
I went the communistnrl rout but still got fired lol. 3rd attempt now. Though I did overwork them chaisng that efficiency! Love this game
Ah good luck on your next attempt!! Yeah this game is great 😂 so looking forward to Frostpunk 2!!
I dunno why peeps swear by engie. The motivation is so high when you go labour that safety doesn't matter as much.

Whaaat. I didn't even know you could rotate buildings. This is the first time I've seen anybody do that.

Super efficient. Came here after I got my arse fired 😂 might be ready for round 2
Haha it’s a tough game but defo go for another round!! It’s so satisfying getting to end! Good luck!
I saw you hesitating on the telegraph station as to whether or not you should order 25 instead of 26 so that you have a round number hahaha

thanks for tips. Do you have any additional tips on getting around the bugs in the last autumn, especially the forager one. they get stuck in the location from where they bring you food.
hmm ive never run into that, but you can survive with a just fishing harbour
Beating this for the first time was great
it was such a rush!!
i bought this game after watching markiplier play it 2 years ago and i STILL havent managed to complete this scenario
Keep going, Frostpunk is difficult! Try to keep your citizens alive and the rest should fall into place
Playing this dlc for the third time

This DLC is great!!

how do you get the road building shortcut/keybind? cant find in in controls, thats a QOL thing I need

@@Logistical ah ok, thanks for the answer!
No problem!!
why do you do the lil road stuff when placing that next 4houses, and prior to the workshops? does it help align things? or??
Yeah it helps align stuff, but I mainly do it as I forces the buildings to be a tiny bit smaller, allowing you to fit more closer to the generator!
Thank you!

thank you bro

i had motivation to nearly 90 but i got fired thats i want to know how to effectively manage work and labour

Thanks! Yeah I have bee meaning to di this since the time stamps came out, ill get around to it at some point!
I was wondering how you can do about the shipwreck that has a lot o steel
The sea freezes over towards the end of the game and you can start to gather it then!

How come you don't have time limit?
I believe the time limit is going, just it gets shown when you reach a certain point in the game.
