Don't get involved in conversations you have no interest in then.
There's lots of people out there who take the time to analyze fiction, the books you read in English class and fanatics who talk about Star Wars, are examples of that.
I think that Jasper’s speech in the beginning was completely justified. NOBODY in the show has fully given Lapis a reality check. They either never interact with her or are somewhat afraid of her.

I honestly hope next time she shows up no one's giving her a free pass, a clean slate, or a hand to hold to help fix her problems like they did last time. Self improvement needs to start with her.
I feel that lapis has.flaws she indeed needs to be called out on but japsers the last person to do so especially given that shes the last person to talk to someone about self pity steven or peridot being more gentle(and certainly not hypocrites) with her

@@brianbrush5107 this theoretically takes place after Jasper has had an Arc about growing to accept her flaws, (the fact she even apologizes proves that.) I feel like this would have been a neat route for the show to take.
@@crystalpokedude4329 Even then. I don't think lapis would try and hurt Jasper. Given how guilty she felt over hurting her in the Malachite thing.
This could make a great redemption arc for Jasper. I just hope her corruption eventually heals completely. As for Lapis, she deserves some time on timeout like Bismuth until she learns to truly apologize, stop holding grudges and stop being so selfish and lonely until she learns the values of friendship.
Corrupted Lapis is terrifying
This feels like a great and challenging place to take Lapis. I'd like something like this in the show, though they'd need to invest a lot in Jasper to make it work.

There was something I didn't notice the first time around. The sky grew darker before Lapis began to corrupt, as if saying: "the darkness is taking over."
I love it when animations use symbolism like that; it's just one of those small details I enjoy when it comes to entertainment, live action or animated.

This absolutely needs to happen. I feel like this would be absolutely in place, seeing how Lapis was handled in the show. Plus, Jasper. We need her to come back- All that valuable information and the feelings. Plus, We would have a Veteran Story in our hands. I have no doubt that Crewniverse will make Jasp come back- But I'm scared that they will brush the whole Lapis situation off and make her the victim again. I want Steven and CG to call Lapis out.
The art is beautiful, The design of Corrupted Lapis is astonishing. Voice acting feels real- You all did an amazing job.

The crew don't see her as a victim, wich is good (please watched the podcast of Lapis and Jasper relationship)
But, it would be hard to call her out, Steven is a sweetheart, the gems don't really interact to much with Lapis, the only one I see her calling her out is Peridot, but she does see her as a victim, so I find it hard.

Well... everything except Lapis getting corrupted.
I don't want her character arc to end on a bad note.
Don't get me wrong this is amazing, but I don't want to spend another arc where they have to try to heal Lapis if this DOES end up canon (which it most likely will not, but it doesn't matter). Especially when Lapis is likely getting her long awaited closure in May.
I'm not kidding, I heard they're releasing a half-hour special and it's likely about Lapis.

Actually, I'm not using any animation program at all. Just a combination of FireAlpaca for creating the art assets and Adobe Premiere for arranging and moving them around.

Flash is one of the most popular programs. The most recent version is animate, which is about the same. I would highly recommend these, but they can be expensive. I’ve heard if you’re looking for cheap or free animating programs, Fire Alpaca is one of them. Good luck! Also, let me know if you need any tips. I know a great tutorial playlist that taught me how to animate, or at least how to start.

Aww Lapis just hates herself because if JASPER came so easily what's her excuse? So she's desperately trying to stop a non-existent Jasper betrayal plot by trying to kill her. Desperately trying to deny her flaws rather than facing them. Nice psychology. She is a high-class Gem so what Jasper said makes sense. One has to wonder if she has ever had to apologize to anyone. Also DAYAM 2 potentially problematic Corrupted Gems one-shotted by the P-dot!

brian brush She did punch Jasper out of a boat in anger and tried to drive Peridot away when they first became barnmates out of anger and resentment, so I'd say it's pretty in character if she reacts this way when she sees Jasper again.
Spectra Light yes she did punch jasper in the sea....AFTER jasper tried murdering steven and after lapis said that it was bad the way lapis hated her
on peridot that episode you mentioned ended with lapis forgiving peridot showing her have charachter develepmont

Concerning Jasper, I'm saying her resorting to attack her isn't out of the realm of possibilities if they meet again if she thinks Jasper can't be trusted.
Lapis never really forgave Peridot in that episode, it kind of just ended with a note of tolerance on her part. Not to mention Lapis never apologized for her own actions against Peridot in that episode making it a little unfulfilling.

Too bad the show's "writers" were too lazy to actually write a compelling arc for Lapis. Instead, they waffled around her character by having her placed in the barn then gave up and gave her a snapshot redemption in _Reunited_ and never revisited the topic as if she was never in the wrong.
I’m more upset that Jasper’s character never went anywhere.

It's interesting seeing how different people interpret this situation. I myself have my own version. In the fourth in a series of crossovers with the Marvel Universe, Lapis and Jasper are captured by Doctor Doom and while they're imprisoned, something like this happens except it ends with them becoming friends and fusing into Malachite to escape. What I'm saying is thanks for allowing me to see this scenario play out without any Marvel characters involved.
With Lapis’ character this probably would have been a more fitting fate for the two characters

Jasper really is speaking the truth here, Sure Jasper may have persuaded Lapis into fusing and stuff, but besides that, Jasper is literally no villain at all to her, remember when Jasper literally waited for permission from Lapis to fuse? Lapis literally could’ve just said hell no and took off, Jasper is literally the victim and Lapis is the abuser, some people really forget that.
It makes it more worse that Jasper and peridot change their symbol to a star.....

Interesting how this kind of 'predicted' the scars from corruption that Jasper did end up with after. And it is something that could be explored in Season 6: How will Lapis react to Jasper now that she's healed.

The question is though, how did Lapis become corrupted? It seems unlikely that she would fuse with a corrupted gem.
I was working under the theory that the methods of corruption wasn't limited to direct exposure to the Corrupting Light or fusion with a corrupted gem. For all we know, it may very well be possible that even indirect exposure to the corrupting light altered the makeup of gem beings. Like a dormant cancer waiting for a particular trigger - a trigger like extreme mental and emotional distress.
Or maybe it was just Rule of Cool. Whatever floats your boat.
Here's my hypothesis; Garnet described corruption as "sort of like if MC Bear-Bear didn't tear the fabric of his arm, but the fabric of his mind." She simply got so angry that she mentally snapped

+7033giorgio Look at him and the gems. It looked like either Jasper roughed them all up, or Lapis went nuts with denial when they were giving Jasper a chance to reform.
Judging by the corruption "scars" Jasper has, I'm betting it would be hard for Steven to be *that* successful again in the near future.
If this was canon, it would take probably a season (and/or a half) for Steven to heal her. And to be honest I hope they don't go that route because we have enough character arcs as they are (even if some are still in progress like Bismuth and most of the Homeworld arcs).
