These were very prevalent to build in homes in the late sixties early seventies, aside from the garage access. They were known as bolt holes. Panic rooms became more popular in the eighties.
Listening to Ellen talk about how she thinks someone who broke in would get scared hearing someone call out made me think of something that I heard once, "Someone who is intending to rob you is going to try to break in when no one's home because they want to minimize the chances of getting caught, someone breaking in at night when there are almost definitely people home sleeping has intentions of doing harm."
The mirror trick wouldn’t work in this situation because it’s just a normal mirror but the thing is that behind the mirror was the hole so instead you should check if the mirror easily comes off the wall (of course don’t break the mirror)

@@homework.doodles It's where you put the tip of your finger against the mirror and if there's a gap then it's a normal mirror but if there isn't then it's a double sided mirror (meaning someone could be watching you from the other side)
So, the mirror thing is true. I don’t think it would’ve worked on that one story with the lady living behind the mirror in the hotel though. It’s only because she was just looking for a place to cash between room searches, sounds like.
bro, i was just thinking about what if someone lived in someone's bathroom mirror like the ones stuck to the wall and had a full on conversation with myself about how the person would be able to hear/smell them or if someone was squinting their eyes at the mirror then a spider jumps them from the corner of the mirror and they become besties with the spider, i decided to leave the topic and head to sleep while watching a vid to distract my mind since it's 5am and the second story comes with that twist, just ok
We once were down on desperate times and moved back to town. We had to live in a seedy motel that charged extended stay weekly rates. That's where we found out that most motels have about 2 to 4 feet between the back of the rooms on either side. It's so that if there was a plumbing problem or something the maintenance crew could get access to the pipes easily. They have a key only door they use to access the space.
There's this certain dream i had a year ago, pretty bloody vivid to the point i still end up getting shivers down my spine....
So in this particular dream from what I remember I was walking through a silent street and i ended up spotting my crush, idk what took over but I silently started to follow him. A few minutes later we reached this pretty big mansion of which one side of it was perfectly lit while the other was creepy and dark. My crush took the dark one but I chose to take the other as i have a pretty big phobia of the dark. Taking the stairs of the other side it was as if only a thin glass wall seperated the two sides and i could clearly spot my crush the other side. I suspiciously eyed him cause the expressions he had at the moment was pretty much dead. After a few seconds he collapsed and outta nowhere there was blood flowing down of his body from various regions, i panicked and climbed downstairs and took the other side of the mansion where my crush was. As i reached him i gasped as there were a group of monster like creatures slowly eating parts of him, his limbs were torn off as i trembled in fear the monsters turned to me and started grabbing me by my foot and began devouring me as well, my rush at that moment started nudging them somehow as if trying to take em away from me, they turned to him and started to attack him again, with a weak scream of mine everything turned pitch black. I woke up after a while...
What kind of dumb hotel leaves multiple holes in the walls of rooms and covers them up with mirrors? They let all the pests in. Rats, cockroaches, junkies. Just stupid. I hope they fix this and lucky they had their coworker with them. What if they were alone face to face with a deranged junkie?
Wow. Two stories where a secret space in a house/room used for good and bad. First one to escape from a murder, second one used for robbing people.
How is Ellen still single? She's so beautiful inside and out, funny, smart and has got a wonderful personality. I can't point out a single flaw in her to be very honest. Any guy would be lucky to be with her. Perhaps she is waiting for the right one to show up in her life. I just hope she meets a guy who is just right for her and will treat her like a queen soon
Somepeople just don't like dating and even if she was, it has nothing to do with her content regardless.

@@brellie763 posts like these come off as a bit too much to me. A bit weird. And I know you mean well but I wonder if you can see how this might come off as a bit... Yikes. Remember we see only 15minutes of Ellen in her day and we don't know about all the other hours. I'm sure she is nice, she is pretty and funny, but there I would stop and I wouldn't even ask why she doesn't have a relationship. You can be all the things you mention but that has zero to do with being single or not. It could very well be her choice and comments like this make it seem wrong to be single. That's what it comes off as to me anyway. And like the other person said, it has nothing to do with her content and it is just a little bit of an odd comment imo to write. I understand you think it but you don't have to share every thought. In this case I would say it may be better not to comment these thoughts, even if you meant well and compliment her. I hope you can try to see how this is a bit off and also what I said about it making it sound wrong to be single.

It wasn't a 2-way mirror. She just used the mirrors as doors into peoples rooms.

I don't think the mirrors were see through. That would have meant the hotel knew about it and installed these fake mirrors in every room just so the woman could watch. It sounds farfetched to me (but never say never). i think she rather waited until she heard people leave the room and then came out.
The other theory would mean the hotel got profits from any sales she made but if it was a junkie I doubt she would share the money unless it was meant as a fee so she could stay there with the hotel's knowledge and they were fine with her stealing stuff because they got some money out of it too.
Well I admit I have heard weirder things.

I do the mirror trick in every stores changing room and once while choosing between suits in a store I did the mirror trick and and it was see-through “great just my luck” I was worried someone was in the other side at that time so I played it off, but couldn’t leave til I tried it on
So I changed the best I could without revealing anything
Weirdly enough I felt kinda really safe, like there was just a man on the other side just trying to make sure I didn’t steal anything

The junkie in the hotel wall is not such a rare occurrence. It has happened multiple times. I've been around for 84 years and I've learned to check under the bed in motels/motels. House keepers don't always clean under the beds so you'll occasionally find some weird sh.. mostly stuff such as underwear, condom, baseball glove, bat, toy cars, dolls.

The mirror trick wouldn't have worked because those were real mirrors. The person hiding behind the mirrors wasn't able to see through them either.

That first story is horrifying! I figured someone robbing a place would want to leave as soon as possible but he looked for them to kill them instead. Awful. The thought of hearing someone violently look for you and running through your home to do so is nightmare fuel- I would've moved into a different house after that incident, honestly
