I remember hearing a story like the last one. A boy about 7 years old was too terrified to go to the toilet at night because he saw a man with a striped shirt. He would constantly cry about a 'ghost' but his mom brushed it off. Months later she saw the man and immediately called the police, the man was an escaped murderer and had been living in their house for months

The way he told it made it sound like it was only a night or two, and the mom didn't tell the boys that the cops came that same night, and their dog ended up being really funny. The younger boy only found out years later because his mom asked if he remembered the dog doing that funny thing when the cops were there.

I had a similar experience to that boy at night, after I used the bathroom my mom was just standing in the hallway and I screeched like there was no tomorrow.
My mom asked in Russian, "Why are you yelling?"
I said. "Who wouldn't if they saw someone standing in the middle of the hallway in the creepy dark!"

Honestly overnight workers should be able to wear voice recorders or something just in case something like this happens.
once me and my best friend were walking around our (kind of ghetto) neighborhood when we were like 12, and there was this broken-down trailer that we walked past. A lady came out of it and talked to us, called us cute little angels, and asked where we were going. We kind of just laughed nervously and nodded, but didn't really say anything. She asked us if we wanted to come in, and when I tell you we ran... we ran like the wind XD
We still joke about it, but it really wasn't funny at the time.
Oh, I have something similar to this, but I wasn't with my friend at the time. Our school took us on this camping trip, yet we had this separate building, a bit far from the camping site, for showers and toilets. Anyway, there was always a gaggle of us going to the bathrooms because no one wanted to go alone, and no one wanted to get lost because there was a similar trail to the camping trail that led FAR away from the site. I went alone and almost went down the wrong trail, but backed up as I saw a bunch of construction workers catcalling and grinning at me. I met up with my tent buddies and 5 minutes later, two of my friends come in, one of them crying and demanding their parents. She said that some old lady had appeared out of nowhere and grabbed her and tried to lead her down the wrong trail until friend #2 came out and the old lady left.
Yeah she didnn't stay for the rest of the camping trip.
I am glad you didn't go in and ran away. So many kids get captured that way, sadly. Not because they're dumb, they're just kids. They're naive. Even if parents teach their children what the signs of a bad person are, it doesn't always matter. Kids will do the opposite anyway because their impulses haven't been curved yet.

and my friend is a year older than me and knew the dangers of random people.
When I was a kid, my parents would always tell me and my brother that there was Baba Jaga (a witch from slavic mythology) in the basement. So when I had to go to the toilet, I always felt this extreme fear in my back while running up the stairs. It was so overwhelming that I didn't want to go down there at all.
Everytime I slept in the basement, I would have nightmares. Even sleep paralysis, wich I normally never have. I ALWAYS close my door but in my dreams, it was always wide open, looking into the black hallway. I would always have trouble waking up from scary dreams, I would dream of me laying in bed and the voices not letting me wake up, pulling me further into sleep. I would hear "the witch" moving around and breathing when noone was home. There was an automatic light that went on if you walked down the stairs, it even turned on when the cat walked past, but it rarely worked when I was there. My cat eventually died falling down the stairs (she was 19) but it gives me chills because... it didn't turn on that time.
Now, a few years ago I moved upstairs. Ironically, a friendly old lady who looked like the nice version of Baba Jaga lived and died in that room and I moved into it. At first, I stopped feeling haunted. Keep in mind to this day I still feel extremely watched in that basement. But then about two years ago it started again. I always felt watched, heard someone walking on the floor boards, breathing. I heard my hamster scratching when he was already dead. Things moved, stuffed animals or cat toys with eyes on them would ALWAYS look directly at me, always. I stopped having them in my room. I feel constantly watched. It started getting more and more, and now I've been having sleep paralysis again. I've always had dreams about getting murdered more than anything but it's been actually 3 times everyday now. And then... I dreamt of the witch. I'm convinced she moved from the basement up here. Sometimes things would loudly shatter or instruments be momentarily played without explanation. But when I tell my parents... they say it was just a story they told me as a kid to scare me.

aheesh, this is terrifying to read at night. I hope you're doing all right though, I'd do everything in my power to get as far away from that situation as fast as possible if I were you- Constantly being scared sounds like torture...

Maybe it isn't real but because of what they told you ever since you were a child you have imagined it and got to the point where it might be schizophrenia. This is why a parent should never tell stories like this to kids even if they believe it is harmless. No matter what it will still scare them and might become worse.
They were both really scary but the last one sounds horrifying! Imagine living with a murderer and never even knowing it.

One day my friend and I were walking around this University because we had a choir practice from our school there. We decided to walk outside of one of the buildings which were pretty long and had a few forestry surroundings. My friend and I were talking normally and we were by ourselves at that moment then my friend started full-speed running (my friend is very slow running but that day she was so fast) and I ran after her. She was telling me to run she felt someone following us. We got into the University and went with the rest of the group. I felt the feeling a bit but I brushed it off thinking I was crazy. Fun fact there was this janitor that sometimes when we went there it would feel like he would follow us until we reached the adults.
We went another day there again but with our other friends. We decided to go deeper into the forestry part which was a bit isolated. All the time I was getting a horrible feeling but decided to go along with them. We reached the end and we saw a shirt hanging from a branch. The shirt seemed as if it was ripped off and it had a bunch of stains on it. Now I am not sure if I heard a noise or if it was just my mind but I felt something I ran so so fast and my friends followed me. We ended up crossing this dark hall and when we reached the end the janitor was walking through there so we ran again in the other direction. Nothing bad happened other than that but it was weird how we all felt followed and got that feeling all of us at that time of running away from there just out of nowhere.

Tip for parents: always listen to your children. Always taken them seriously. It could save someone's life.

My sisters story:
When I was 19 I worked at a hotel as a cleaner. One time a guy was following me and watching me clean empty hotel rooms. I asked him if he needed anything and he said his room is completely filthy and wanted me to clean it. I told him I’d call my co worker (24 m) to clean it for him. He kept asking me to clean it but I was cleaning an room that needed to be cleaned in an hour for the next guest/s. I explained that to him but he still insisted that I do it, so I told him to wait outside his room and I’ll be there once I finish the room. He left and waited outside his room. Once I finished cleaning I called my coworker to go with me bc I had a bad feeling about this guy. We go to his room and as soon as he sees my co worker he says “I cleaned it myself you can go now” so we left. The next day I’d catch him in the corner of my eye watching me. He left and I never saw him again

First story: strange people like to hang around university campuses and get with students. Second story: criminal was looking for a house to hide in.
Women are trained to be "nice" to people. Men aren't. We need to trust our instincts and not be afraid to be "rude" when someone is being suspect and weird around us.

So heh, weeks ago, I was playing night games with my friend, and two of her friends from her school, when we heard a scream. We were aware and had flash lights, mostly I tried making jokes how my classmates thought I was going to break someone's legs. We saw one of those things where it stands on top of your house, I think it was like a lightning rod or something, but we thought it was a person. Ended up running to my house which was 1 house away from hers, when it was time for them to stop.

The last story got me to remember something I just found out a few months ago, my mom was visiting me and our conversation went to about scary dreams and what we did before going to sleep when we were scared. I told her that when I went to elementary school I had a feeling that someone was outside the window, and was trying to look in (my bedroom was on the first floor) So every night I covered myself with my duvet, laid on my back and tried my best to lay still and breathe slowly so you wouldn't see me. And I was to scared to look up at the window, I had to be completely covered with my duvet. And I still struggle with that feeling from times to times, and just the feeling of being watched really affects me. And I never felt brave enough to tell her before now... My mom looked at me and said : well I can't blame you for that, because when you were in 1st grade... You were playing in your room and suddenly a man was standing outside and was watching you through your bedroom window (You could see his palm prints on the window glass) so you came up screaming and I rushed down stairs to scare him off.. But he had already run away. My mom learned later that day that the man I saw was a guy who had escape from the mental institution (hope I said it right since english isn't my first language) So it was then I found out why I have that feeling and anxiety of being watched. I've must have blocked it, since I can't remember it at all. But maybe that's a good thing 😅
