    I love it. I hate the midset of tech these days that when something brokes you just throw it away. We should go back to fixing things!

      I also appreciate to repair things instead of throwing them away, but to be honest, such a repair you would only do, if no spare part available or when the spare part is much more expensive than the repair.

      😮ye off little faith, and likely of little skill and patience. There is a phrase.."choose an artisan to do your repair work NOT one whom is simply a change over merchant".
      Yes there is a valid case to replace verses repair such a flex cable if it is in an application where it connecting two constantly moving cyclic parts. If it more connecting 2 semi rigid pcbs, or if one is on anti vibration mounts (but classically rarely moves in practice), then consider a repair like shown.
      Also it maybe the cable in question, has unusual rare connectors and is not easily obtainable then there is a case for repairing it.
      Also as for a lot of us, time=money. So repair may not be an option.

      @AmebaDos Місяць тому +3

      Es mas economico y seguro comprar uno nuevo ademas que el cable flex se derrite y es casi imposible soldar con herramientas basicas.

    Great job and excellent skills.
    I have an idea. Would it be possible to cut a small fragment of the flex and use it instead of tiny metal wires you used? I feel it might be easier to solder if length of the cable allows to cut a small fragment from it.

    • @clean04si
      @clean04si Місяць тому

      @@idealinstitutealigarh maybe tablet means something different. i see people throw tablets. they would not have left a flex point in the ribbon cable if movement wasnt necessary. and since you put the insulators sooo close together, they will create sheer forces against eachother, breaking the wires. 100%. even small vibrations are enough. cheers!
